Very well. Jerry sent one painter who worked for 3 days and did a great job. Everything looks beautiful. They were on time and the job was done as promised, just in time for the holidays. The job is neat (no drips, no runs, no errors). The hardwood floors and wall paper was left just as he found it. In fact the walls look so good, I may have to have the floors done now. Mike (the painter) was very polite and didn't even mind when the dog occasionally got loose and into the work area to investigate. Price was a bit higher than other estimates, but it is worth the extra for a perfect job.

Scheduled as a one day job. Since I wanted to be home, it was scheduled for a Saturday. No contact until 10am but with no ladders or paint. Two hours later, work started, but not even half-done. Schedule another full day, taking leave from work. Still not done. Didn't even bring wood to replace trim, so time spent getting that (though not enough). Said one more day of work would finish things off. Gave up trying to be at home, since they couldn't tell me when they would be back. Did bits and pieces for another week until "finished" (no rain during period), but no contact either. Stuff left on site. Owner showed up at 8:30pm one day after job was finished asking for a check. Was adamant that he needed it now (Terms were that he would bill me, but I had yet to even receive an invoice and I hadn't see the work in sunlight). When inspected, there was one side completely unpainted (aluminum, but not told) and missed items throughout. Wood putty was their version of repair/replace.

Jerry sent his partner Mike Smoot, who worked over this past weekend on a bedroom in our house. We had managed to remove all the old curtain hardware and switch covers, and he did all the rest. The work was really perfect, and he cleaned up afterwards very nicely, even vacuumed. They did everything we asked neatly and meticulously, and even answered a few of our questions about how to proceed on the projects we are doing ourselves.

We were very pleased. The work was done exactly when promised, for exactly the amount quoted. The quality of the work was excellent (the painter is so experienced and meticulous that he paints without using tape, and didn't get a drop where it wasn't supposed to be), and they were very neat. All the people we dealt with were very professional. We plan to have S&J back to do some more painting in the near future.

They were efficient, they were very reasonable in their recommendations and overall provided a very well priced painting solution. Very pleased with their work. There were some delays which they could not control due to a rainy spring. Only missed 1 or 2 sunny days in their project.

After getting an estimate for the same work for close to $1000, I e-mailed Jerry for an estimate. He promptly responded to my e-mail with a phone call and came out to give me the estimate (of $400) within about one week. It was a very busy time for him, but he said that he could most likely get to it in a few weeks, and would be able to complete the work in one day. I was in no rush to get this done, so the wait time was fine for me. He asked me to find the name of the color of the paint and to take the house numbers off the front door frame, and he would take care of the rest. He called me on a Friday morning and said that he could be out the next day (Saturday) sometime between 10 and 11AM. He arrived around 10:30 and worked continuously (on a humid 100-degree day) until he finished around 3:30. I am very pleased with the final results. Jerry cleaned everything up (there isn't a stray drop of paint to be found anywhere!) and left the remaining paint. He was very professional.

Jerry and Bob and their crews were always punctual, helpful and respectful. The quality of the painting was very good. The price beat out three other bids. The quality of the window and hardwood work was also good. Moreover, because it was renovation work there is always problems...they met every challenge with a 'can do' attitude and addressed every issue to my satisfaction...even when it meant going back and re-addressing work that was already completed. There were some issues that arose that meant they had to come back, that's why I gave them a B for their quality of work. However, I believe the true measure of a company is how they handle problems. S and J immediately addressed mine and to my satisfaction. They get an overall A from me due to their professionalism.I had a good experience with S and J and highly recommend them.

Jerry's crew was timely and professional. The quality of their workmanship was exceptional. Jerry was very responsive to any questions we had. He visited us every day during the project to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. We would recommend him to anyone needing interior painting. One thing to note is that Jerry only accepts cash/check payments. This ended up not being a problem for us, but was a bit of a surprise. Other than that, we were very satisfied.

They did a nice paint job and cleaned up well after they were done. They did miss fixing a bunch of nail pops and painting behind the toilet but overall, they did good work.

Jerry Dix, the J in S & J, did a great job. He returned my phone calls promptly, he was very caring, and when I was nervous, because I was fixing my house up to sell, he was flexible and reassuring. He cares about being fair and helpful. It was very comforting to know that in this world today, there are people who still do business with a heart. Thank you Jerry to you and your crew.

After I called, came out next day to review job and provide estimate. Arrived on time. Provided verbal estimate, then followed up with written estimate in mail. Called several days later to inquire whether I'd made any decision. Estimate was best of 3 received. Work was scheduled within 1 week after making decision. Three crew members arrived on time. Crew was very personable and neat. Worked extremely hard every day. No breaks except quick lunch. Cleaned up work site at the end of each day. Carefully moved all the heavy furniture in each room to be painted. Job took 9 days to complete, one day more than estimated. Wallpaper glue was more difficult to remove than expected. The owner and I did agree on a $500 additional cost due to this issue. Many other companies will only do wallpaper removal on a hourly cost basis, so I believe I still came out ahead even after the additional amount.
