About us
Freetown Animal Hospital opened up in February of 2012 and has been growing since! Currently, we have one doctor, Dr. Padma Yadlapalli. Dr. Yadlapalli (aslo known as Dr. Y) has been working as a veterinarian for over 10 years now and is happy to finally have her own practice! We currently have three veterinary technicians. Kacie Bourgault has been working at Freetown Animal Hospital for about 2 years now, and volunteers as and EMT at a fire department in her spare time. Megan Gabor has been with Freetown Animal Hospital for almost a year and has hopes of becoming a vet and a air medic one day. Dani Schiesler is fairly new to the field but has been caring for pets her whole life, and is ecstatic to be working here. One of our goals at Freetown Animal Hospital is to provide you and your pet/s with a relaxed, low stress environment. We encourage pet owners that have nervous pets to come in anytime to meet the staff and allow their pet to have a “fun” visit before their actual appointments.

In addition to the cost of services listed above, we purchased a wellness plan that we expect will save us money in the long run since our dog has bad teeth. This was our first visit and we were met by a very competent and friendly vet tech. They went out of their way to make our dog comfortable and not fearful. Dr. Y spent more than adequate time with Hansi and us. They followed up with phone calls to see how Hansi was doing and we plan on making them our long term veterinary practice.

For the first time in a long while, we had our ancient cat (complete with a Nah not today attitude) caught up on shots. The vet was AMAZING. My cat is not friendly. Not only was the cat nice to her, SHE WAS PURRING!!!! Even the vet techs were fabulous. In addition, this superior service did not cost an arm and leg.

I rescued a 3 year old cat and a 7 week old kitten from H.C. Shelter, and took them both to see the vet at this establishment. My little midget was not so well with an upset tummy, and I have to say that the Doctor was simply amazing!!! She really cares about the animals, and so do her staff. I will be using this Vet surgery for both Merlin (3) and Inky (6 mths) for their continued care. I wouldn't think of going anywhere else - they even ring to see how the kitties are after a visit :)

We recently decided to try a new veterinarian and picked Newtown because it was only a few minutes from home and because it had received good reviews from Angie's and other services. We were given an appointment just 2 days from when we called. Newtown obtained our cats' records from the previous vet and had a proposed written treatment plan and estimate for each cat ready when we arrived. It took a few minutes for to fill out the initial paperwork, but once that was completed the assistant weighed the cats, took us into the exam room and reviewed the proposed plan and estimate with us. Dr. Y joined us promptly, examined each cat and administered the vaccines. While she examined the cats she asked us questions about them to help her evaluation. She explained what she was doing and why, and answered the questions we had. She also pointed out an issue with one cat we had not noticed and which the previous vet had never mentioned- the cat was over-grooming leaving bald patches on its stomach and legs. Dr. Y explained this behavior could be caused by several things from anxiety to allergies, etc. She suggested several things we could try to correct the problem starting with the simplest- change their diet- we have and it seems to be working.
We thought Dr.Y was really nice, very thorough, and genuinely interested in our pets. Both she and her staff were gentle and patient with our cats. As a bonus, Dr. Y charged us almost 50% less than our previous vet for essentially the same service.

We decided to switch vets to this office because our old vet office just didn't provide the personalized service we were looking for and was too expensive and not the cleanest.
I honestly don't know where to begin with how happy we are here. Dr. Y is AMAZING with the animals and she has the kindest most caring staff. They were very considerate of our cats' special needs and worked with them instead of trying to force them into their exams. They took the time to make the cats feel comfortable and the exams were very thorough. Dr. Y made good recommendations for their diets and addressed some concerns we had about problems we've had with hairballs and brushing (one of our cats has not been a fan of being brushed no matter what we tried).
A couple days after the exams, one of the staff called to check on one of the cats who needed to start taking some medications. This was a great surprise and something unexpected since most human doctor offices don't even do this. We really appreciated the followup and it further reinforced the caring attitude that this office has.
The office is also very clean and well kept. The prices are also very reasonable. Veterinary care is never cheap but I have found all their charges to be reasonable. They will also readily provide a quote before service is provided.

The Vet was FANSTASTIC. She really cared about her patients and their families. She spent an amazing amount of time working with our daughter to ensure that she understood responsibilities and how to care for her. The only did she provide shots and internal annual items, she also talked about preventive measures to help the cats and dogs become healthier and live a longer life. Much to my dogs chagrined (who is overweight), she also shows the history of all animals ways and shots on every bill.
In some cases, you find a great veterinarian with lousy office personnel. This is not the case case with her practice. The office staff was just as committed to making the experience of fantastic one for both the patient and their families. They have always been extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with in any situation.
It is amazing that the prices are so low with all these good services.

I am always happy with the services and support provided by Freetown's veterinarian, Dr. Padma Yadlapalli and her caring staff. They know each of our cats by name and are as interested in their health and well being as we are.
I have never had to wait past the scheduled time for an appointment.
They often take extra time during a visit to share information or just to trade pet stories.
They are very thorough in explaining what happens before, during, and after a procedure.
They adapt their treatment to the needs of the animal whenever it is feasable to do so.
They always do at least one follow up call after any visit that involves shots, a procedure, or an illness. Often they do more than that.
I have used two other vets in the past 10 years and Freetown vet definitely the one I like the most.
