Description of Work: I purchased the Angie's List deal to have 20 electrical outlets changed out in my 55 year old house for $399.00 plus $1.00 for each cover plate used. The technician, Eric called 30 minutes prior to arrival as promised in the deal. He arrived on time at noon. He worked steadily without a break until 4 PM, replacing 22 outlets and 18 cover plates. His work was done quickly, professionally and safely. All outlets were fully grounded with new wire. I would use this company again for my electrical work.

Description of Work: I purchased the special with the idea that i could get someone down to give us some advice for hanging lamps for our kitchen. he did not seem very interested when I called--I suspect because I did not want to spend a lot of money and I did not know exactly what i wanted. he did not offer much help. I got essentially no work for my money.

Description of Work: We live in a home built in 1924. The walls are plaster and lath, as opposed to drywall. We have a long list of electrical projects and hoped this provider would be able to help us out (they're highly rated on your list). However, the service manager told me that they generally do not perform work that involves plaster and lath walls - which covers just about all of our projects. Rather than try to find make-work projects to honor the coupon, we decided it made more sense to seek a refund and use a provider better suited to our needs. I understand the provider's policy toward plaster and lath; it can be difficult to work with, and I'm glad they were upfront about it. However, $200 is a lot to spend on make-work activity, and if we can't really use the service, it doesn't really make sense to pay for it.

Description of Work: Ultimately, I called the contractor on Friday and left a message for a callback. I then called on Monday and left a message for a callback. Then I purchased the Big Deal for $140 because I thought that they may respect my call if I had purchased it. I then called back again on Monday and they finally addressed my call after saying that I would not be interested in leaving another message. Their only availability was a week away and I stuck with it because I thought I had to sense I purchased the Big Deal. Instead, I found another contractor on Angie's List who completed the work on Wednesday, March 27. I just would like a refund since I won't be working with the contractor of the Big Deal.

Description of Work: When the provider called me back he seemed like the work was going to be very complicated. Many of my neighbors have done the work themselves but my husband isn't a handyman.

Description of Work: Purchased the 3 hours for $125. Service was scheduled quickly and the workman arrived on time. I had two electrical receptacles that weren't working.There was time left after replacing the GFCI outlet, so the electrician looked at a light that came on and off by itself. I would use this company again.

Description of Work: We had an electrical failure in the house. The electrician came out, asked a few questions, went to one of the bedrooms, did something to an outlet and the lights came on. Amazingly simple------------for them. since we still had time left on the agreement we had him make some changes to other lighting and still had time left over. This person was very knowledgeable and fast. We appreciated it.

Description of Work: Total waste of money and time. The scheduling was done professionally with confirmation and the technician arrived on time. However, he did not work on any of the multiple projects that I asked him about, because he did not have any of the parts that he needed. I understand that some of parts are unique and they cannot have everything in their truck, but they should have some of the basic items. I have seen in the past that other electricians needed a part and they had it in their truck and used it. I paid for that part but the job was done. The question is if they don't have the parts, why do they waste people's time. What are they expecting to do if they don't have parts with them. I think if they don't have the required tools and/or parts to start a job, they should give people credit and come back with the appropriate parts to finish the job.

Description of Work: We needed a replacement timer for our outside porch light and were advised what to get. When the electrician arrived, he looked at our old wiring and said what we'd purchased wouldn't work. We then consulted with him the possibility of putting in an outlet outside on the other part of the house. He didn't stay the full time of the offer, and we received no refund since he didn't do any work.

Description of Work: I paid for the deal but was unable to use the services before it expired, so I received no value. I non longer own a home, and most services are for homeowners so I will be unsubscribing from Angie's list in the near future.

Description of Work: I have 2 200 amp breaker panels. I wanted 3 circuit breakers moved from one panel to the other so I could use my generater to power the circuits in the event of a power failure. This was one of Angie's big deals. 2 hours of electrical service valued at $250 for $125. They gave me a window of 8-12. Received a call prior to his 9am arrival. Technician was neat courteous and professional. Told him What I wanted done. He completed the job within the 2 hours. Everything worked fine. Cleaned up and left. Given my past experiences with electricians this was a pleasure. I will definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone in need of a electrician

Description of Work: I have been wanting an additional electrical outlet on one of my walls...Not only was it installed expeditiously, Phil cleaned up everything perfectly,all the dust even...he was a great representative of the company.

Description of Work: Had the company install a ceiling fan and fix an electrical outlet in my bathroom; both jobs were done with professionalism and in a timely manner. I would use this company again in a heartbeat when it comes my housing electrical needs.

Description of Work: I assumed that replacing a doorbell was appropriate for about two hours of electrical work. The job would have required removing the inside Door trim to fine the doorbell wire underneath. The wire originally had a twisted only splice several inches from the actual doorbell. The wires Were to short to wrap around the screws on the doorbell so when it was tugged on it separated. I wanted him to find the wires and splice an extension on it to reach the doorbell. I was told that they don't or can't do that. I assumed that this visit would count for the charge of $125 so In order to not waste all of the money, I had him replace an outdoor lite which only took about 20 minutes. The tech left an evaluation card which I filled out with the above info and sent it back to them. I received a phone call from them a few days later. They offered to come back out if I pulled the trim and they would then reconnect the doorbell. I also pointed out that the outside light needs adjustments. They offered to come back out to adjust it at the same time. I haven't been able to get to that yet.
