The service was excellent, arrived promptly and gave good advice and did the required work quickly.

I called the company and described the job. I was given an estimate over the phone. There was never any mentioned of paying for travel or that the hourly rate charged was $120. The plumber came and was on time. He had difficulty believing that I had never had the water supply in the kitchen and wanted to check to make sure there was no water line. I have lived in my house for 17 years and this was my 3rd refrigerator, so I was pretty sure I knew what was up. The job took less than an hour yet I was charged more than an hour. I called to dispute the charge since it was over $200 and no one likes surprises. They adjusted 15 minutes off the labor. They called back when they said they would.

Plumber arrived within time frame quoted and performed work. He was nice enough when I went to fill the basin 2 days later, water didn't stay in basin. Called ownerMonday morning early, and he was very nice, said he didn't know if he could fix it that day & said he'd call me. When he came next day (Tuesday), was not nice, was annoyed & never apologized. Said it was a minor adjustment.

David at Baker-Elman responded to our call and came to give us an estimate to replace two drains in our older home's bathroom. Within a short period of time the work was completed. The two plumbers had to work in a very confined area to complete the work and did an excellent job. Thanks.

Called initially to have them unclog a shower drain. Very responsive on the phone, professional office staff that took my info and scheduled a window for the following day. While the plumber was here I asked if he could also look at my toilet, which is an antique high tank and has been running for a while. The company ordered the part and then came back the following week to install the part. Overall work was very good, they were very courteous and professional. Will definitely call them again next time I have plumbing work!

This is the first supplier I used off of Angie's List. I emailed 3 plumbers and BE got right back to me both by email, then by voice mail. I'm not that great at returning calls but they kept messaging me (in a good way). When I finally talked to David Elman he gave me a rough idea of time needed to do what I wanted and the information I needed to purchase the faucets, and I made an appointment for 3 days out. They would have come sooner, but the condo building main needed to be turned off. Mark arrived right on time, was very professional and organized, cleaned up after himself and explained things. I supplied most of the parts except for some pipes. He told me he could fix the leaking shower faucet but it would cost me more to fix than to install a new shower valve. Again he gave me needed information about accessing the valve and what type to buy. Recommended if my drain was still slow to go to a drain cleaning service as they were cheaper. Gave me advice about thermostats and shower surrounds. I would definitely use them again; did what they said and added value.

Baker-Elman Plumbing is absolutely wonderful. They come back however many times it takes to take care of your problem. When I had heating issues, they came back three times in one day. They're informative, and they'll do what you ask them to. But they'll give you advice on what they think is smart and what might not be so great. I'll use them again in the future.

They did an excellent job. They said they'd be here at 8:30 and they came at 8:30. They completed it in about an hour with two people. They did quality work and had good workmanship.

They were very easy to get in touch with. This company came very quickly and gave us great service. I felt that they had a fair price. It was a pleasurable experience in term of hiring a plumber.

We worked with David on this project. They pulled all of the permits that we needed. They met with the inspector for us. They brought everything up to code. You can depend on what they tell you they will do. Due to unusual circumstances, he went to bat for us when it came to dealing with the town inspector to get what we needed done done.

I would definitely recommend them to others. They had a lot of free advice.

I called on Monday, had an appointment on Friday morning after Thanksgiving. Dave was right on time and solved our problem in a jiffy. He also replaced a water filtration cartridge out of the kindness of his heart. I would definitely recommend this plumbing company.

They were OK. The estimate was not very detailed.

Considering the amount of damage that had occurred, the plumbing repair was pretty quick. Dave called me on Monday morning, after I left a non-urgent message over the weekend and said he would have someone out by noon. Two workers arrived on time and were able to figure out what was wrong soon after. They happened to be pulling the old trap out when my insurance adjuster was inspecting the damage the leaking had caused. He was able to get detailed photos of the damage inside the wall and ceiling. The workers were pleasant and cleaned up as much as possible before leaving. They will be coming back to install my new vanity once the floor/ceiling and wall are repaired.

It was very good. They came in when they were supposed to and got the job done in a timely manner. I felt that is was a reasonable price. I was happy with the results and there were no problems.

The Baker-Elman team was fantastic. The owner took the time to discuss the situation with me over the phone because we were very worried that moving the gas pipe was going to cost over $1000 alone (this is what a home improvement store had quoted us). We were able to schedule the work to be completed the following day. The owner even made sure to ask that we were all right with having workmen over on the Jewish Holiday (Yom Kippur), since our last name is Jewish. They sent two men over, who arrived exactly during the window agreed upon. They completed the work efficiently and without any complaints (e.g., steps up to the front door, tight squeeze down the basement steps, moving the gas pipe, etc.). The price was a little higher for just replacing the water heater ($1,195) than other quotes we got ($800-900 range), but given that there were no hidden fees and they only charged $300 to move the gas pipe, we were very pleased in the end. I would definitely call Baker-Elman again for any plumbing work I needed.

I called at about 8:30 am having just discovered water all over basement floor and the water heater making a loud hissing sound. Ms. Elman told me what to do to deal with the immediate situation and then what replacement would cost, offering to schedule the job if I wanted them to do it. She wasn't sure how quickly they could get to it as someone on their crew had just called in to say he wouldn't be in. I said I would like to deal with them. Shortly after, she called to say someone could come in the afternoon. A few minutes after that, she called to alert me that their supplier would be bringing over the water heater, which was delivered within about half an hour I think. Someone came at about 1:30 and did the job. My husband was involved at that point and handled that exchange. Everything seems to be fine. I was very pleased with the company.

Responed within a few days of my call. They called ahead & arrived on time. Work done efficiently & competently.

I called Baker Elman on a holiday, crossing my fingers that they would be able to come out that day. They scheduled me for a 4-hour window that same day & arrived on time. It took the plumber less than an hour to make the repairs (which fixed the problem). I was pleasantly surprised that there was no holiday surcharge (as far as I could tell) and that I didn't have to explicitly ask for the Angie's List discount. I think it's a miracle that a leak I discovered at 8 a.m. was fixed by 2 p.m. the same day!

They did a solid job. They were willing to finish the work that someone else had started. They were on time, did the work as promised, and straightforward. Their work is warranted.

This company is wonderful. They were on time, professional and went above and beyond to find out how to fix my shower valve which they initially didn't recognize. They sent pictures of the valve to the water supply company in order to save me the cost of paying them to go there themselves. I am very pleased with Baker Elman and would definitely use them again.

David answered the phone and asked me several questions regarding the problem. He explained what can happen with the type of shower control I had and explained the fix it would take. He said he may be able to just adjust it which wouldn't cost anything except the service call or he may need to replace a part and that would cost around $40. His team was busy the next day so David said he would come out personally and check it out. Within 5 minutes the shower was working great with one minor adjustment. The wonderful thing on top of the excellent service was that he charged me for half of the service fee! It's so rare these days to have someone actually charge you less! He has a client for life and a personal marketing person.
