They did an excellent job.

Mr. Kelly of Creative Construction was one of two contractors who came to look at the job, and the only one to follow-through with a bid.  Through the process, Mr. Kelly and I discussed alternatives and approaches and we finally decided that, since the stoop had probably sunk all that it was going to, we could just clean up the existing stoop and save ourselves the trouble (and me the expense) of pulling the existing concrete out and pouring a replacement.
I did the cleanup with a quick Home Depot rental of a power chisel and Mr. Kelly did everything else.
He also explained to us why the old bluestone had come loose (ice melt and other chemicals) and why we wouldn't be able to use much of the old stone (cracks).  All new stone purchases were cleared with me beforehand; there were no unpleasant surprises in his work or the final bill.
He was patient with us, showed up when he said he would, did the job he said he would, and did it with the quality and results that we had hoped he would.  Since the new stone wasn't in the original estimate he provided receipts to back up the addition in cost, but at that point it only served to bolster the trust that we had already established.
I recommend Mr. Kelly for any work that he says he can handle and would use him again in a heartbeat.

He did a great job and was a pleasure to work with.  He is an artist and he takes great pride in his work. I thought the price was reasonable because he put several weeks into it and worked very hard on it.  He could not be more considerate and he was very neat.

Damien was fantastic to work with from start to finish. He does it the old fashion way - he meets with you, discusses what you may want, and writes up and mails his proposal. He came in 1/3 less in cost than the other larger masonry companies that we interviewed for the job. From beginning to end, he communicated well, stuck to the estimate, and provided us with a better than expected job! We have a beautiful, new front walkway and stoop. He showed up every day and worked HARD. He even showed up before he knew rain was coming on several days. He brought samples of pavers (colors) to our house to save us time and energy and gave us ideas (politely) on the design when we asked. Damien is an old school type of guy who just loves his work and has been doing it forever. No fancy cars, no excuses, he just gets the job done and does excellent work!
