FREE Written Estimates! No Money Down Contractor! Celebrating 16 years in business!
A New Rooftime began in 1996, when Ricky and Sandy Feltner started a small family business that they operated out of their home.
By 1999, Ricky's company (Preferred Roofing), had grown large enough to include his son, daughter, son-in-law, along with some terrific work crews. Together the company earned a ranking in R.S.I. magazine's Top 100 Contractors in America (Oct 1998)
Ricky passed away at the end of 1999, and the company struggled to carry on without his dynamic leadership.
Today Ricky's legacy has been preserved by no less than five roofing contractors that were once part of his vision, all successfully operating their own companies using the same principles and ideals he established over 15 years ago!
At Rooftime, Sandy's daughter Missy still answers the phone (even at nights and on the weekends) and Ricky's grandson Justin is now an Owens Corning certified Roofing and Insulation Inspector!
A New Rooftime is a true family owned and operated business with deep community roots; over fifteen year's business experience, and is now into their third generation of serving Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
A New Rooftime has been certified by Owens Corning as a "TOP OF THE HOUSE" professional. The company attends annual training certifications to keep current with VENTILATION, INSULATION, RADIATION and how they affect roofing shingles and property values.
A New Rooftime exclusively sells and installs the Owens Corning line of roofing and insulation products.
In addition to being experts at roof repairs, new roof installations and attic insulation, their other services include professional SKYLIGHT repair and installation using the VELUX brand, as well as chimney repairs and Box gutter repairs.
Estimates are free and include an attic inspection & color digital pictures of what the estimators find.
A New Rooftime utilizes all the best of today's technology such as thermal imaging cameras to pinpoint hidden leaks and decay, and satellite measurement software to offer 'to the inch measurements" for "to the penny pricing'.
Visit www.time2roof.com or call Miss Mona at 513.753.TIME (8463) to get a free inspection of your roof, attic insulation, skylight, and chimney or gutter system.

Process went very well. We're happy with the quality of the materials and labor. Understandably, we needed to be flexible regarding the timing of the work since weather (especially heat intensity) came into play. As the crew worked, they made sure the gutters were cleaned out, which was helpful. The only suggestion for improvement - even though the crew used a magnet tool for clean up, we kept finding roofing nails in the garden and yard for several months after installation.

It went well. There was actually a little confusion over which service he was to provide. I had expected to have the inside of the attic inspected and the gutters cleaned out, but he thought I had a different package. The one he thought I had (and what he did for me) was actually something I needed more. So, no complaint there.
Description of Work: He went up on the roof and inspected the shingles and flashing around the chimney and skylight, plumbing vents, etc. He sealed up a few things for me. Being just before the first snowfall, that was very nice.

Service man used his ladder to stick his head in the attic opening. Offered insulation services, but I said that I was planning to do it myself and he was ok with that. Gave plenty of good advice. Offered to install attic tent, but decided to do that myself after the entire insulation is put in. Explained how it all worked. Knowledgeable and friendly.
Description of Work: Ordered attic insulation inspection with infrared camera and free attic tent. Guy gave good advice, but didn't see any infrared camera. Free attic tent is ok.

Horrible. I would never use their services again. I bought a Big Deal and wanted them to additional work as well. We had an appointment time of 10:30am- 11:30am and they did not show at that time. I called and emailed asking what happened, only to receive an email the next day tell me that they drove-by our home at 3:30pm that afternoon. I asked him if we could re-schedule to go over what work needed to be done and he kept reiterating the fact the Big Deal was just for Maintenance, which I understood when I purchased, but after a few of his consistent "reminders" I asked him to just do the work described in Big Deal and not to do any additional work. When I asked when they would be able to come out to do the work, he told me he could not give me an appointment time because they needed to keep the schedule clear for customers who were purchasing new roofs. At that point it was clear to me that my business was not needed, so I contacted Angie's List customer service to get my money back and I did.

Overall the guess the service is OK. But I did not get the attic shield that was promised in the ad.
Description of Work: The serviceman was punctual. However I expect a more detailed inspection of my attic. He simply stood on the ladder, shined the flashlight and the thermometer for less than 5 minutes and said that my attic did not have enough insulation.

The added insulation makes heating and cooling the house easier than before. The skylights are so efficent that ice will form on top of the glass when the outside temperature is only 32F. The E-glass also prevents the Summer Sun from heating the room. They completed their work efficiently and on time, and cleaned up any mess they made.

The initial consultation with Dale at New Roof went very well. He was very personable and it was obvious he knew what he was doing. He inspected the attic areas and the whole house with a thermal camera to determine the problem areas. He took the time to answer questions, provide tips, and didn't try to oversell, which was appreciated. He was honest about areas he felt he could improve and areas that he could not improve. The quotation was provided very promptly but seemed a bit high to me for the work to be performed but I felt comfortable enough with Dale to believe New Roof would do a good and thorough job. Honestly, I didn't try to obtain other bids so the price could have very well been competitive. Fortunately, New Roof had another job in the immediate area so we were able to be bumped up to an earlier date on the schedule. They arrived on time and completed the job in about half a day. The only problem we had was that they forgot to install the batt insulation in a couple of areas detailed in the service agreement. I called them to discuss and they came out in a couple of days to rectify the problem. This would be the main reason for the B grade but they were very responsive in addressing our concerns.
Description of Work: Installation of blown-in and batt insulation in the attic areas. Replacement of two old skylights.

This is a very good customer and we enjoyed doing the work. He is 100% correct, out crew foreman dropped the ball on a portion of the install. We regret that it happened. We did act immediately to make it right once we discovered there was an unfinished piece of the contract done. We appreciate the chance to come back out to complete the final details needed, and apologize again that these was ANY type of issue!

The company was prompt at getting an estimate, and arrived on the day/time agreed to for the repairs. But, the repairs were not performed completely or professionally. The tuck-pointing to the chimneys nor trimming overhanging shingles was done. The patch to the roof decking was not properly repaired - they placed a single sheet of shingles over the opening without any tar paper or wood barrier. The crown-coating was applied very poorly, and not to specification. The new soil pipe vent cover was not attached or sealed to the roof properly either. I called the owner, Dale, and spoke to him, and he sent his crew out again within the next week to make the repairs right. The second time, the crew still missed trimming the overhanging shingles, and only tuck-pointed 3/4 of each chimney. The patch to the decking was fixed, and they attempted to smooth over the poor crown coating job from the first time. To date, the tuck-pointing has still not been repaired, and the shingles have never been trimmed.
Description of Work: Hired to make repairs to existing roof and chimneys. Included cap shingles, tuck-pointing 2 chimneys, tighten gutter straps, trim overhanging shingles, apply crown coat to 2 chimneys, adding one soil pipe vent cover, and patch hole in roof decking.

Response from A New Rooftime
We are sorry this member is not satisfied. We bid this project for the Realtor selling the home, and were then hired by the new owner to perform the work. She is correct about the repair to her shingles, on our initial visit to do the repairs, our repair man, did not do the job as well as he could have. we worked quickly to make this right for the member and did make her happy. However, as to the rest, we trimmed her shingle along her roof edge from the gutter to the ridge top, as best as the roof line will allow. We can only do so much with shingles that are not installed correctly by other roofers. If we trim the longest overhangs back, it will not be even as it goes up the side but will in fact dive into her roof, exposing the top of her wood fascia board, causing future leaks and wood rot. We trimmed the edge of the shingles off an even chalk line to keep the roof edge true to the shingles, providing protection, not true to the wood house edge. As to tuck-pointing her chimneys; our contract clearly stated minor tuck-pointing included. We bid one labor hour per chimney. Our man worked on each chimney for over the bid time, as we instructed him to inspect the chimneys during the second visit, and to take care of any other spots. Sometimes a repair is just the thing to correct issues and the savings are wonderful for the homeowner. This homeowner had an older home, that has issues that our simple repairs cannot balance out. We went into the project after we thought the member was on the same page as to what could be achieved. We then worked with this member to resolve her issues and in fact she sent emails acknowledging that we had corrected her complaint about the shingle repair, and the other repairs. We did this repair work last year in the spring, and our repairs have withstood a 76-mph wind storm, 2 hail storms and a very hard and long winter; all with no call backs or leaks. We have not heard from this homeowner in over a year and are disappointed that she feels the way she does, apologize one last time for our man not doing his best shingle repair the first time out, and wish her the best. Our employees are not perfect, they can make mistakes. We hate it, if it ever happens, but we stand behind what we sell and install, and will work hard for every homeowner to install quality work, be it roof repairs or an entire new roof.

Overall it was a good experience. My concern was that it was a relatively warm day so I thought the thermal camera might not be able to detect insulation problem areas. The technician assured me that it was VERY sensitive and not to worry. Well, he found no problem areas, installed the Attic Tent and left with no recommendations for my house. I guess this is good news, but I can't help but wonder if the conclusion would have been the same on a 20 degree day instead of a 50 degree one?

Thank you for the food report! as to the thermal camera scan....it is not based on outside temperatures in any way. The thermal camera reads the interior of an home as to energy leaks, hidden roof leaks, humidity levels in an attic, ventilation draw in the attic, and temperature differences between the the home and the attic space. The results let us then propose energy star approved repairs to lower the homes use of energy; making the home more comfortable year-round, lower utility bills, reduce HVAC use-extending its life and adding resale value to a home.

I was concerned about how well my roof was constructed on my relatively new(~7 yrs) house because some of my neighbors have had problems. The service person was very knowledgeable and made a couple recommendations concerning the patching of pipes on my roof and insulation recommendations. He game me info on the construction and materials of my roof. All very helpful and reassuring. I'm glad that I had this done.

The entire crew was there before 8am and ready to go. I went off to work and gave them access to the attic. As far as I know, everything went well. The site was cleaned up well. I had a remodeling contractor there also and he said that there hadn't been any issues.Honestly, I wouldn't have gone with Rooftime if after the initial visit they hadn't spoken with my contractor. The estimator got there a half hour early and was driving away at the time we were to meet. I was left a written estimate but it had no notes on it nor a note for me to call them to get additional information. Come to find out through my contractor, Rooftime suggested a variety of things that needed to be done, how it should be done and at what cost. I would suggest that in the future, if the estimator doesn't talk to the homeowner, to at least follow up with a phone call to see if there were any questions. Again, if my contractor hadn't been there to get the information for me, I wouldn't have known or have been told the information that I needed in order to choose Rooftime. Their sales/scheduling woman is awesome, very attentive and quick to respond. I would recommend them.

We bought the big deal for $700. Our house is >100 years old, and Dale offered us a refund if the big deal wouldn't work. Well it worked; when they inspected our house, the urged us to get more insulation, line the attic with reflective material and add a solar fan to manage humidity. We ended up going with all of it. They had to reschedule once for weather, but found a new appointment quickly. They were very professional, explained everything, and acted quickly.

The chimney flashing was leaking and I paid $100 for a coupon from Angie's List for A New Rooftime. The coupon paid for someone to review my roof and give me an estimate. That was done the week between Christmas and New Years. The estimate to do the work was $750. I agreed to the estimate and they did the work on January 5. Prompt and fast. A couple of weeks later we had a hard rain and the chimney leaked just a little bit on one corner. I called and someone came that day to fix it. It has not rained since that repair, but I am fairly confident that if I have any trouble, A New Rooftime will quickly respond.

Dale arrived on schedule, and wasted very little time doing the inspection. He inspected the main attic, and installed the attic tent. He also inspected the attic above the family room & garage, as well as the exterior soffits, roofing, etc. He made three recommendations, one of which (vents in the soffits) I will have done in the spring by Rooftime, and one I will do myself. The third (adding 5" of insulation) we both agreed was a nice to do that would not payout quickly.

They were very professional and cleaned up everything. The young man was wonderful. They put the solar panel where I told them to.
