Auto Body Work
My car had somehow gotten a tar/paint mixture sprayed all over the front
and sides. I got several estimates, but most places didn't want to try
and remove it, and the estimates were quite high. My final desperate stop was at Auto Craft on 1st Street. I
talked with Todd, who was very honest and up-front about what could and
couldn't be done to remove it. He also gave me a price of around
$170.00, which was acceptable. I also needed to get my headlights
cleaned, as they had gotten very foggy. (my car is a 2003 Mazda Protege)
He said since I was having the detail work done, he'd do both lights
for $50.00, instead of the normal price of $100.00. I appreciated that.
They had the car initially for two days to remove the tar, as predicted in the estimate. When I picked it up, I was quite pleased with the results. They also waxed it, and it looked gorgeous. They didn't get to the headlights on that visit, but Todd said he'd still honor the quoted price to clean them up if I brought it back in. I did just that a few days later. They estimated that it would take most of the afternoon to get it done, and they provided me with a very nice loaner car, so I could run some errands. I was surprised to get a call in just a couple of hours telling me they were finished. When I went to pick up my car, and to pay, I was told that it had been "taken care of", meaning I didn't owe anything! They didn't charge me for the headlight work! The headlights looked just like new--I was so pleased. I couldn't believe they didn't charge me for that work, but they didn't, and I honestly got a little choked up about it...such a nice gesture, and they had my car looking so nice, that it made me proud to drive it again. I had a very, very positive experience with this company, and recommend the highly.
