 + -1 moreThe job overall was challenging but doable. A blessing for the under slab problem was made somewhat easier because the existing piping was in a sleave under the slab. The existing piping connection point was found by noting the direction the pipe took toward the laundry area and by cutting a hole in the wall behind the washer the pipe was found, severed, a new valve installed. Also new piping was installed under the slab to the outside new frost proof hose bib.
Description of Work: Hose bib ( frost froof ) ruptured under house slab and leaked severely on west side and pipe connection under bath sink on east side seeped. Jason, of Isley & Sons surveyed the problems and gave a repair estimate which was excepted. The under slab problem took some clever thinking to fish out the old copper pipe and install the new poly pipe, but with mussle and aid from fellow crew the work was accomplished without having to cut into the slab. The new hose bib was installed without leaks when tested. New copper sweat fittings were installed under the sink which eliminated the seeping leak. After cleanup by Jason, the areas were left neat and clean.

 + -1 morevery good. I made the call to Isleys they told me the options I had. I told I would call them back later which I did. I called back the next day to schedule the appointment (they were friendly and knowledgeable). The only drawback was they could only offer an appointment in block time (8:00 - 12:00) not a specific time. i had to wait around for 2.5 hours before they called. Once they called they were prompt, described what they were going to do, and did an excellent job. I am very pleased with their work and the people they brought to the job.

water heater repair
 + -1 moreWe knew that our hot water heater was starting to leak, and we were trying to wait until our schedule was more flexible at the end of the spring semester. However, we came home on a Friday night and discovered that the water heater was leaking all the way from the garage, through the wall and into the dining room. Waiting was no longer possible! We have used Isley previously for other repairs and a visit to Angie's List led us to Isley's new website, where I discovered that they now have SATURDAY HOURS! YAHOO! I called shortly after they opened on Saturday morning and was super-lucky. They had an appointment that had cancelled and had a tech immediately available to come to our house. He was here within 20 minutes and shortly thereafter, we had a new, non-leaking hot water heater.
Description of Work: Replaced old, leaking hot water heater (gas, old tank was about 15 years old).

Description of Work: We called the L.E. Isley & Sons Plumbing company on 3/27/09 to schedule an estimate to change some pipes in our basement and bring the system up to code. On 4/2/09, Jason and another person from the company came and give us an estimate. We accepted the estimate and the work was scheduled for 4/22/09. The work was performed and we had a sink installed in addition to the work that was originally scheduled. This was at our suggestion which increased the estimate. On 4/25/09, a leak was discovered in our water softner connection. We called the company and the leak was fixed at not cost to us. However, the connection contined to leak only after the water softner had completed its recharging. We called the company and the leak was fixed at no cost to us again. We appreciate the work that was done to bring our system up to code and the prompt response of the company to fix the leak in the water softner drain connection.

I called Isely to discuss the estimate and set up an appointment for the work. They came and did the job. They did not mess up the patio or the existing plantings. I requested that he replace the kitchen sink faucet, remove the hot water heater/tap, and generally inspect and repair the plumbing under the sink as necessary. Dennis had to contort into several different positions in order to do the under-sink repairs, but he came away successful and unscathed.

 + -1 moreThey were extremely prompt! The gentleman who came to fix the seal on our toilet as well as replace the seat was very professional, nice and clean. When the seal broke again, they came out quickly to repair and did not charge us. We used the a third time when a pipe burst in our garage. The came out within 20 minutes to repair. The woman on the phone guided me over the phone to shut off the water valve and really put my mind at ease!

 + -1 moreCalled directly to a supervisor to seek quote and an estimator came out within 3-4 days. But after 3 more weeks and repeated phone calls to the supervisor to obtain the quote, we still have not received one or any communication that the company will not be able to bid, so that we could move on to other sources (which we have done). We received a quote in the mail, one day after we had the work done by one of two other firms we later asked to bid. Unfortunately for us, this late bid was $700 under the quote from the vendor we hired and $1900 less than the bidder we did not use, all for the same equipment. Very frustrating!!"

 + -1 moreI had vented the pressure release valve on my water heater the day before. As a result the valve would not close entirely and water drained continuously through the relief drain. Before he started the work on the water heater relief valve, I asked Dennis to look at the shower control too. I called and made appointment at 4PM and told them not an emergency. They scheduled for the next day between 8AM & noon. Was called around 8:30 and arrived around 9AM. Was quoted flat price that I approved before work started. The valve was quickly replaced and Dennis then fixed the show water control. He also explained to me that he lowered the temperature a little since that can cause the relief valve to go off(not in this instance). Explained not uncommon for relief valves not closing easily. I was very pleased with the work. Dennis was very cordial and informative.
Description of Work: Plumber Dennis L. replaced the pressure relief valve on my water heater. Additionally he fixed the shower control in our hall bathroom which had been re-installed improperly when it had fallen off over a year ago.
