One evening, without warning, the shower level would not fully turn off the water. I called Village Plumbing and they were able to send someone over that early afternoon. They gave me a two hour window and arrived well within that time. As the house was built in the early 70's, the Moen part was both durable and replaceable. It took a little work to get the part off, but the repair basically went smoothly. The best part is that the plumber asked if I had any coupons! Reminded me to look in my Angie's List book, which saved me $25.00. I loved that! I usually forget to use those so I appreciated the reminder.

They are always professional, on time and clean. This past time was the only time I have ever had a problem and they resolved it very quickly. The AC unit we had was too small but did not need to be replaced. They even wear booties and are friendly to my dogs. I am very, very happy with them.

I've used Village Plumbing for previous jobs so that is why I hired them for this major renovation project. I have always been extremely pleased with their work and continue to be. Andy came out and provided me with a detailed estimate for the work and then came back to perform the work a few weeks later. He did an excellent job (as usual!) and had everything done in one day. He took me around and showed me all of the new plumbing once it was complete to make sure I did not have any remaining questions. Additionally, he told us to call if we had any issues when we did the actual installation of the fixtures. We did need to call him to fix a minor issue on the toilet rough-in but he was able to come out the same day we called and repaired it at no additional cost. Village Plumbing did another great job on my old house and I now have a functioning second bathroom to prove it!
Description of Work: I installed a new half-bath on my first floor. Village Plumbing installed all of the rough in plumbing for the new half-bath as well as a new laundry tub in my basement and replaced my sewer clean-out because the old one was not accessible.

They were responsive to my phone calls and emails. However, their estimate was a good 25% higher than the next estimate that I had received. I had received 5 other estimates for exactly the same work with exactly the same products. Much too expensive. Eventually this work cost me $4500.

We called the company Saturday and requested service for our air conditioner. We were put on the list for service on Saturday, but the technician on call called us around 9:00 p.m. and said the technician on call Sunday would be out in the morning. Bill showed up on Sunday and was very pleasant. His first thought it was the fan motor, but wanted to test some different things just to make sure. After the tests he felt replacing the motor would fix the problem and it did. The reason he wasn't sure is because the motor started working and it took a few tries to get it to fail again. We appreciate people like Bill taking the time to make sure the problem will be fixed correctly. They service customers on the weekend because we are under the maintenance agreement which we found very valuable to have purchased.
Description of Work: The fan motor on the air conditioning went out on a Saturday. The company came out on Sunday and tested several things before replacing the fan motor.

Having read what other members said about Village Plumbing, and the fixing of a old toilet that she didn't want to deal with, I, being the same way called them on the phone. I had purchased a contract for 2 annual check-ups. One for heating, one for AC. The company called in May to set up an AC check, but it couldn't be scheduled until July. Once they came out, everything was fine. The serviceman Bill was punctual. He was very quiet but went about his work expeditiously and finished the check in a timely manner.

First of all the company called to remind us that we had not scheduled a summertime maintenance check (which we had paid for earlier). They notified us of the date of service weeks in advance. On the day of service, the company called to tell us their representative was on his way. He arrived within 15 minutes of the call. Adam explained what he was going to do and proceeded to do it. He was very personable and professional throughout the time he was at our home. He offered a few products and services that the company has, but was not the least pushy when we opted to wait until later to buy them. All in all-a great service experience.

Andy did a wonderful job. My water heater did not function well since I purchased my home (brand new). I had it fixed several times and even learned to do basic repairs myself. When asked Andy gave me an honest appraisal of the water heater I had in my home and precisely identified the causes of some of my issues. He was right on the mark although other plumbers I had over seemed clueless. I asked him to replace the crummy water heater because I was tired of fixing the other although it was only three years old. Andy said it would be done in two hours. I couldn't believe it. Next thing I know another guy pulls up in a truck with my new water heater and next thing I know it's done. I couldn't be happier.

We discovered the leak after hours and they responded to our service call first thing the next morning. They scheduled the job for one day later, but were able to squeeze us in that day. That was very helpful since we were without water. We have a home warranty from selling our home, so they we were required to use them. However, the service was great. The charge for the water heater was a $50 deductible. Normally they said it would be closer to $800 for the water heater, labor and travel. We also had to pay some of the item to bring it up to code.
Description of Work: The replaced a 40 gallon gas water heater. The current heater was leaking. The also added a shut-off valve to the water heater and a shut off valve for the gas line near the water heater to bring it to code.

Wonderful. We had no idea what was wrong and feared the worst of needing a new unit. John had worked a very long day and showed up at our house around seven pm. (they let us know when he was on his way to our home.) He was pleasant and fast. He could have told us anything and charged us anything. He was courteous and obviously honest. We had a coupon from Angie's List, which we had used to check out BR Heating and Cooling. Their straight "A" rating is deserved!!!

All representatives were courteous, informative, and on-time throughout all 3 visits. Though I'd done my own homework on the topic, Larry explained the latest mandated standards and provided honest feedback on the various units available, he definitely was not trying to sell me more than I needed. I am completely satisfied and would highly recommend Broad Ripple Heating & Cooling.
Description of Work: My 20 yr. old 2-ton compressor quit running. They came out and diagnosed the issue (compressor dead). At my request, the very next morning (a Saturday), the manager (Larry Howland) came out the first thing in the morning and went over replacement options. Three days later they hauled away the old compressor unit and demolished its concrete base and then installed a new Lennox Merit series compressor (Model: XC13-024-230-01, efficiency rating: SEER 13, 5 yr warranty) with ozone friendly R410A coolant.

The plumber told me the flapper was worn out, which seemed odd since this toilet was only 7 years old. As he replaced it, he broke the handle (lever). He replaced it with a "universal" part, which did not match the original. After he left I discovered he charged me for the replacement part, even though he was responsible for breaking the original. I called the office and they said they would order an exact replacement and schedule the repair when the part came in. A week later, they called, came to the house, and tried to install another "universal" part, not the one that would match the toilet. I had to go to a plumbing supply store, buy the part (which was in stock), and then schedule the repair. That's 3 trips to do one repair. They never offered to reimburse me for the part I bought myself, or even refund me the cost of the "universal" part the first guy installed. I found this to be highly unprofessional, particularly since the cost of the repair was, in my view, high.

WE GOT A NEW HANDLE (WHITE) WHICH YOU SAID WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE, YOU WANTED A AMERICAN STANDARD WHITE HANDLE. YOU SAID YOU NEW SOMEONE AT A SUPPLY HOUSE AND THAT YOU WOULD GET IT YOURSELF. WHEN YOU GOT THE HANDLE YOU CALLED US AND WE PUT IT ON FOR YOU. I AGREE WE SHOULD HAVE NOT CHARGED YOU $10 FOR THE HANDLE AND I WILL REFUND YOU THAT AMOUNT. In a routine check for gas leaks, Citizens Gas reported that we had a leak between the meter and our furnace. They shut off our gas and advised that we had to get a plumber to seal the leak before they could turn service back on. Village Plumbing was able to come out quickly, which we appreciated. Their serviceman recommended that we replace ALL of our internal piping, saying it was "standard procedure." The gas company had told us that we did not need to replace all of our pipes and to refuse if any plumber said it was necessary. We told the plumber to simply repair the leak, and he replaced less than 24" of pipe, from the outside meter to our interior pipe. This took a little less than 2 hours. We were shocked when presented with a bill for $400, which we felt was quite excessive and perhaps was taking advantage of our predicament of needing immediate work in order to get our gas turned back on.

WE DO NOT TAKE THE WORD OF THE GAS COMPANY THAT THERE ARE NO OTHER LEAKS IN THE LINES, THEY HAVE BEEN WRONG MANY OF TIMES. THEN THE LIABILITY FALLS ON OUR SHOULDERS. THE REPAIR THAT WAS MADE WAS NOT TRUCK STOCK PIPE, WE HAD TO HAVE A PIECE OF PIPE CUT AND THREADED. I PERSONALLY CAME TO YOUR HOUSE TO DELIVER THE PIPE AND HELP WITH THE REPAIR, IT WAS NOT A 1 PERSON REPAIR. WE TOOK OUT APPROX. 5' OF PIPE, REPLACED 2' AND REDOPED 7 OTHER FITTINGS ON THAT 5' SECTION. THE PIECE OF PIPE REPLACED, CAME FROM OUTSIDE THROUGH THE FOUNDATION AND INTO THE BASEMENT. GAS LEAKS ARE A SERIOUS REPAIR AND THERE IS NO ROOM FOR ERROR. STANDARD PROCEDURE ON ANY GAS LEAK IS TO DO A PRESSURE TEST AFTER A REPAIR TO MAKE SURE THERE IS NO OTHER LEAKS IN THE SYSTEM, WHICH YOU DECLINED TO DO. I purchased last year a one year plan for inspections. They called and told me that my one year inspections was getting ready to expire and that I would need to schedule an appointment before my expiration to get my inspection done. Thought that was great because other service providers would probably let that expire out without letting you know it was expiring. I will call them again!

I was very pleased. If all their technicians are like the one I met it will be a pleasure to use them in the future.
Description of Work: Sillcock repair floods kitchen when using outside spigot. Required cutting the drywall, cutting the pipe and replacing spigot and 6 inches of pipe.

We had a leak in our upstairs toilet. From below, it was impossible to tell if it was the drain, or the supply line, the sub-floor was soaked and dripping from several places. John surveyed the situation and could not say for sure which it could be. After asking him for his gut feeling, he said he thought the drain was most likely the problem. I agreed, and he replaced the wax ring (I also asked him to replace the water supply shut-off valve, since ours no longer worked). John went right to work and, I must say, when he finished, you couldn't have told that any work had been performed. The bathroom was just as it was when he arrived (maybe cleaner). Before he left, we checked out the sub-floor again, and the dripping had slowed, but not stopped. John advised that it would probably take two or three days for the water that was trapped in the floor to escape and stop dripping. Well, just seven hours later, the dripping has nearly completely stopped, and I believe the leak is fixed.
Description of Work: Shutoff Valve for toilet replaced. Also, wax ring for drain replaced.

I had a big surprise when I got home. There was this huge chimney top on the chimney. I was expecting one the normal size like everyone else's. They could have drawn me a picture or let me know how big it was going to be. They were very willing to work with me, though.
