Bone Dry Roofing sales representative quoted, and I accepted, the roofing job 8/24/2012, which included new gutters. Over the weekend I changed my mind about the gutters and went with insulation instead. The roofing job had been scheduled, but had to be put on the back burner until an insulation representative came and provided a quotation, which I accepted on 9/11/2012. The job was then scheduled for 9/28/2012, but had to be re-scheduled to 10/4/2012 due to backlogs due to rain. On 10/4/2012 the roofing insulation crew swooped in early, coordinated their work beautifully, and completed the entire job in less than 8 hours. Jeremy Bays was the production supervisor, and his crew worked with precision. A small mistake was made by the insulation crew on venting, but they came right back out 10/5/10 and corrected it. The only problem I experienced was what I thought was a lack of timely followup on quoting details, and re-scheduling of work (required some pressing on my part).
Description of Work: Bone Dry Roofing did a tear off and installation of 25 yer GAF Lifetime shingles (upgraded warranty) on my single level ranch house. This included putting a new top on a gazebo, a tear off and installation of same shingle type on the gazebo, and tear off and installation of same shingle type on a mini-barn. Incorporated with this work was the installation of insulation to R-49 in the house attic, and a dryer vent was installed as well as venting bathroom vents to the outside. An old box furnace flu was removed from the house roof, and an HVAC contractor that works with Bone Dry installed a new furnace flue and roughed in a clothes dryer vent pipe into the attic for the insulation crew to connect to.

The sales rep Tyler came to the house a couple of times to answer questions and make assessments (I didn't know they did insulation initially so after reading through their materials we needed him to return to make measurements). He was thorough, frank, and followed up superbly. There were some challenges involved in coordinating when various work teams would be at our house as it seemed like the people who make the schedule are not well synchronized with the work teams. But when the work teams arrived (one set for the insulation and a different set on a different date for the roof), they were focused and hard working. I had more interaction with the crew chief for the roofers (Jeremy) and he too was excellent. Roof looks fantastic and after the last day of (heavy) rain, it appears to be functioning well too. Leading up to the work and since finishing the job, Tyler has been in close communication with me as I needed to resolve some warranty questions. Again, even after the bill has been paid, he continue to impress in his follow up and execution. This is a very excellently functioning company (except those schedulers- but better them than the installers).
Description of Work: Bone Dry performed two services for us: 1) they increased the amount of insulation in our attic; and 2) they re-roofed our house.

Awesome feedback! Thank you for sharing your experience. At times our scheduling team can get a little overwhelmed, but we are working on improving our processes internally, especially for those busy times after storms. We'll use this feedback in those efforts and I will pass along the kind words to Tyler as well. Thanks again!

Great experience. Jim wondered why we needed a second vent in the bathroom and i pointed out that the paint was peeling and a contractor had suggested a second fan because the current fan was in the closed shower area and he thought the walls in the bathroom area outside the shower were getting condensation from the steam. Jim checked the bathroom and fan, then went into the attic and checked the current fan hook-ups in both bathrooms, the amount of insulation, the venting, and other matters. He showed me photos of the areas he looked at. Not having seen any major issues, he suggested that instead of a second fan, we should consider prepping the walls well, using a good primer, then covering with a quality Kitchen & Bathroom paint. He also suggested that we consider a fan with a higher CFM (cubic feet / minute) intake. I really appreciate his honesty and integrity.
Description of Work: Jim came to give an estimate for installing a fan vent for a second bathroom fan.

We contacted Bone Dry Roofing and they came out right away to look at the roof, sent us an estimate in a timely manner, and were very responsive and helpful when we called with questions. On the day of the roofing, they called to say they were on their way, arrived on schedule, took the old roof off, put the new roof on and cleaned up everything before leaving. The job foreman was very knowledgeable and explained everything that they were doing. The roof looks great and we would definitely use them again.

Still waiting on estimate from Sept. 4th.
Description of Work: Chad, from Bone Dry came out to do an estimate for us on hail damage to our home. It included roofs on our house, garage, siding, window casings, and gutters. It also included another house we owned on the same street for hail damage to the roof. He was very very thorough and found things our insurance adjuster did not. He asked that I send him their estimate and I tried to fax it twice. My end said it went through, but I have no idea if they got it or not. After waiting several weeks, I contacted Chad and asked for the estimate from Bone Dry. He said he would have someone mail it out. That was over a week ago, and I have yet to receive an estimate from them. I can't really rate their work because I cant even get an estimate sent to me.

First of all, the owner of Bone-Dry Roofing, came out in person to provide the estimate. Mr. Judd is personable and fair-minded. Then a time was set up for the work to begin. Jeff was the first installer to come out. He was very nice and professional and wanted to start work right away, even saying he'd better get to work because he didn't want to "lose the light." I was impressed by Jeff's work ethic. At one point during the repair, he showed me that some of the framing boards or rafters (I am not sure I'm using the correct terminology here) were rotted and needed to be replaced. I wanted to see for myself, and Jeff gentlemanly held the ladder steady and even helped me up and down the ladder as I saw that definitely there was rotted wood up there next to the chimney. Since this chimney flashing repair has been about a year ago, my memory is failing a little on this, but I think a supervisor came out to inspect the work as well. Another thing I liked very much was that the supervisor and crew mentioned that whoever installed the chimney cap had done an excellent job. I thought that it was admirable that a competing company would compliment a competitor. iHowever, I do want to say that the ladies in the office deserve a raise. Shauna and the other lady with whom I spoke either called or emailed daily, and I do mean every day, to make sure that the installers were on time, that the repairs were completed to my satisfaction and forwarded me copies of emails they sent to the installers and crews to make sure I was on their schedule. Frankly, I think the ladies in the Bone-Dry Roofing office should be hired by the State Department as foreign ambassadors. If so, I know we would not have half the squabbles and trouble around the world that we do. These ladies mean business, got back to the customer with alacrity, and, if they needed to be out of the office for a day or so, provided me with names and numbers of additional ladies to contact. I am very pleased with the quality of Bone-Dry's roofing work but feel the ladies in the office should be running for Congress; they are that diligent, courteous, hard working and responsive.

Our roof was leaking into the house and so I called Bone Dry Roofing. Greg came out to give us an estimate the day I called the company and was very thorough. He took pictures of the roof so I could see what he was talking about. I was trying to use our home warranty to cover the roof replacement and Greg was happy to talk to the warranty company for me to explain the work needed to be done. It took a bit to get the actual work scheduled, but the company did come out and covered the leaking area with a tarp to prevent further leaking. When the work was scheduled, the team called the day of the work to give me an idea of when they would be out and showed up on time. The completed the work quickly and cleaned up thoroughly. I found them very easy to work with overall.

Overall the work product was good, however this company has a serious communication problem. i called them out to give an estimate to replace/repair the roof on behalf of my grandmother . When the estimator was out there we advised that it was ok to start working, he did not have my grandmother sign anything at that time aswe were told they needed to have their masonry department fix the chimney 1st and he indicated that he would have them call her to get this scheduled. 2 weeks went by without a call i called them and was told that she did not sign authorization to start work advised them what i was told and they finally got the masonry department out there . again she was told that they would contact the roofing department and they would schedule the appointment for the roof. We then waited several days with no contact, so i had to call them again to keep the job moving. When i called i was met with a somewhat rude reception until i mentioned being a member of Angies list then i spoke w/a manager who indicated that she did not sign off on roof color and met with her that afternoon and got the work moving after that. Once the repairs were completed she received the invoice for the chimney which was promptly paid. after the roofing was completed she paid the invoice she received in full. She then received the final bill for the gutters showing she owed a total of 775 which she paid then later she received another invoice on the gutters indicated that she owed 660.00. i called the company and was initially told that she owed the 660 with no explanation so i had to have them send me what they had which none of the invoices i received matched what she was sent. I called again and spoke with Lisa Paulson who could offer no explanation for the 660 being applied to this account other than it was misapplied and we owe the balance. She became rude when i tried to explain to her that i was not understanding this and she just continued offering that it was misapplied and that if i wanted to file a complaint. i feel that our experience with this company was very poor with communication and we should not have had to continually call to get this completed that we were told would be taken care of. I also feel that the office staff with this company is extremely lacking in professionalism compaired to the staff that came out to actually do the work.

Member: We are pleased that you are happy with the work that we provided. We were fortunate to work with you and your grandmother on several home improvement projects. However, we are disappointed in the accounting error on our end and we take full responsibility for the mix-up. In reviewing, it looks like we itemized some of the charges incorrectly causing some confusion. I believe that the total amount was correct, but the way we handled the billing was a bit unclear. We understand your frustration as you certainly do need clarification on your invoice. It seems as though we were ultimately able to figure out the mistake and come to a conclusion. We will continue to work on our processes to make sure we don't make these types of mistakes in the future. If there is anything else that I can do, please contact me directly. And we apologize again for the trouble. Gene Judd, Owner Bone Dry Roofing, Inc.

Overall the company presents well to begin with but service and preparation are severally lacking. My original call was for the tarp placement and I mentioned that an estimate was needed also for a repair. The tarp was promised and delivered as scheduled in a timely manner. Professionalism and friendliness is not enough if the company fails to deliver expectations. How many times does a customer have to ask for an estimate. I probably gave them more opportunities than most people would have attempted.
Description of Work: The first contact with Bone Dry Roofing was very positive prompt professional except for when I told them I wanted an estimate on the repair of my roof. The guys that put on the tarp were not able to do that. I called to have an estimate scheduled and the person on the phone did not try to be helpful and was almost rude, so I contacted the company by email to explain my issue. I was called within the next two days an appointment for the estimate was scheduled following a holiday weekend. I left work early to come home for that very appointment and person was already here early and examined the roof prior to my arrival. He immediately told me my damage was not was unrelated to storm damage without any knowledge about what happened. I gave my story and he proceeded to explain that he did not actually have tools with him to pull back the tarp as he was unaware of its exsistence. A tarp that was on record with the company he represents and was information provided at the time of scheduling. That I would have to reschedule for another appointment date. How inappropriate is that? Irregardless of the fact if there is storm damage or not I expected an estimate for repair. Two other companies have been here and both saw hail and wind damage to my roof, gutters, and windows and are working on the estimates. I will not reschedule with Bone Dry.

Member: Thank you for providing your feedback. First, I want to apologize for your experience. We take full responsibility for not meeting your expectations. You're right; we should have been better prepared to give the estimate with the tarp in place. Somewhere in our process, we miscommunicated internally and did not pass this information along to our salesperson. That is our fault. If nothing else, this gives us the opportunity to improve our procedures to make sure that we are better prepared in the future. If there is any opportunity going forward for us to assist you in your home improvement needs, please give us a call. I will personally see to it that you are treated with the utmost service and responsiveness that you deserve and that we strive to provide each day to all of our customers. Member, I sincerely apologize again for the trouble and inconvenience that this caused. If there is anything else, please don't hesitate to contact me directly. Thank you again for the feedback. As I stated before the roof had to be totally removed as it was. The team showed up on time @ 8am to start the job. They immediatly got to work on the old roof. As they started the work they realized there was no deck, all new plywood had to be purchased. The work did not stop. The Leader on the job went to purchase the material as the team continued to work on the tear off. They had to remove 4 layers in total. The work took longer than they expected so they came right back the next day 7:30am and got right back to work and finished early in the afternoon.
Description of Work: My house is a 1910 build, and the roof was very old. I believe the roof was atleast 50-60 years old. It still had rafters as a base. So a complete tear off and all new decking had to be installed. It took 2 dumpsters to remove all the debris.

The process from initial request for a quote to the billing process was perfect. I initially requested a quote from their website. Within 24 hours I received a call to schedule the appointment. I was impressed that they wanted someone from the home to be there while they were there. We were provided an estimate, which was more thoroughly detailed than other quotes we had received. (Theirs was the most detailed quote and the least expensive quote of all 3 we received.) Upon signing the quote and faxing it we called the next day to veryify that they had in fact received it. They had. The quote stated that the work would be preformed within 1-1 1/2 weeks, however 3 days later they called to ask if they could come by later that day to complete the job. The crew arrived at the scheduled time and completed the work in a timely and efficient manner. They left an invoice with us, which I paid with a credit card on their website. Easy and efficient from start to finish. We will definitely use them again if the need arises.
Description of Work: We had some missing shingles that needed to be replaced and wanted an overall visual inspection of the roof while their estimator was up on the roof.

I had a leaky roof that I tried to repair myself but to no avail. I had several other roofing companies come out and give me estimates to repair the roof, but about half didn't even want to mess with repairing it, they were only interested if they could replace the entire roof even though it was fairly new. The ones that were willing to patch the roof had estimates of at least twice as much. Bone Dry was willing to do the repairs I needed and charged me what the work should have cost. Now that it has rained several times since the repair and I haven't had any more leaking, I know that the job was done right.

Bone Dry's estimator arrived on time. I told him I like to get as much service as possible from a product. After walking the roof, he honestly told me that we probably had another three years of life left in the roofing. There was no pressure to "get it done now". We liked the sturdier architectural shingles and edge and ridge vent option Bone Dry showed us, so we hired them to do the job. Their people are punctual, professional, and courteous. They were careful to protect our plants and shrubbery. Clean-up was well done. We will recommend Bone Dry to our friends.
Description of Work: Bone Dry removed and replaced our complete roofing down to the wooden decking. In the process, they replaced a few damaged 1 x 6 boards at the point of damage. Additionally, they removed all individual roof vents, and installed ridge vents for the whole house, replacing decking where the old vents had been. Our's is an older home built with no soffit vents. The estimator described the edge vent product they've been installing for the past five years; it met the attic ventilation need we've always had, so we had it installed, also. At the end, their inspector checked the job, making sure a couple of items were done to our satisfaction.

I went to Bone Dry's website, and entered a request for a free estimate. I was contacted by Kyle Mills, who set up a time to look at the roof and give me a price to replace it. Kyle was on time, and did a thorough job of taking me through all the colors and options and gave me a fair price for a full tear off and replacement with high quality GAF demensional shingles in weathered wood color that went perfectly with the house. Kyle was also able to schedule my roof replacement for a saturday which was very helpful to me as taking a day off work during the week was going to be difficult. On that saturday morning the supervisor called me and told me his crew would be at my house in fifteen minutes. (I think it was actually five minutes later that they arrived). It was a crew of nine men total who quickly and efficiently removed the old roofing material taking approximately an hour and a half to do so, and without wasting any time at all began lay down new roofing felt and shingle all while doing as much as possible to keep the work area and the gutters clean. Watching this team put a roof on was like watching a symphony orchestra play. No wasted mostions while hand nailing 20 sqares of shingles to a two story house. An impressive display to say the least. They started the job at 7am, were done with the roof at 11am and the yard was cleaned up and they were gone by 11:30am. As an added note they expertly cleaned up the yard using magnates to make sure every last nail was taken away. My yard was as pristine when they left as before they started. It would have been difficult to have known they were there, if I did'nt have the new roof to prove it.
Description of Work: When my house was built in 2002, the roof was incorrectly installed by virtue of stapling higher on the shingles than recommended. Consequently when windstorms came, I would lose a few of them. Bone Dry Roofing came out on four different occasions looked at the damage, gave a good estimate, and quickly repaired my roof. They did excellent work with the repairs, so when I was finally tired of wondering how many shinges would come off in a windstorm this time? I called Bone Dry Roofing to replace my roof, and I'm glad I did.

Received promotion informatiion on Angies List on line.Bought a coupon for one room painting.Supervisor came out to see what we wanted done and gave us a very reasonable estimate to add second room.A little mix up in time of painter' arrival but they were good in correcting that.Painter did excellant job and was very professional. We would definitely recommend them.

After being recommended by our neighbor, Tyler Hergott a sales manager came to our house and explained in detail the steps he was going to take to give us a proper estimate for our roof and asked lots of questions to ensure that our estimate was as detailed as we needed it in order to make a good decision about the company we chose. Between the price, services recommended and overall truthfulness at the time of our estimate we chose Bone Dry over two other "A" rated Angie list roofing companies. On Monday, a truck delivered all our needed materials to our driveway. My only complaint about this process was the scratch marks left on our concrete driveway from the forklift and that the delivery man didn't inform us he was here in any way. On Tuesday, a large crew of workers arrived by 8:30 or 9 a.m. and got right to work. A supervisor asked about any accessibility needs I may need with my dog during the day. The workers had workspace around our home protected and nearly our entire roof off within an hour. By 6 pm my roof was completely done with the exception of 2 added soffitt vents which we were told would be completed the following day. The supervisor had taken pictures before and after the work was completed to show me where there was work that was recommended in the future and where during demo they had chipped two insignificant wood trim pieces and was sure to fix when the soffitt vents would be corrected. The next day, no one came to put in the soffitt vents. I was called again the next day and told that someone was coming on Thursday and again no one came. On Friday, the office called to say they would come out Monday then called within 30 minutes and came out that day instead. Overall, the service was wonderful! They were efficient and very personable the entire time I was in contact or having work done to the house. My only complaint would be them sticking to their request to be at our house to add soffitt vents in a timely manner or when they for sure would be coming.
Description of Work: Complete tear off of old roof (even though there was only one layer), replaced box vents with a ridge vent, added two soffitt vents to the back of the house to increase ventilation. Added ice/water shield to valley, gutter apron around house where needed, upgrade to dimensional Timberline shingles.
