He did exquisite work. He gave a right on estimate. The people that work for him really knew what they were doing. I think they were all family members. They explained in advance what to expect and it went exactly as they said. They helped my husbands with ideas on how to transition from one room to another more smoothly and the result was just beautiful.

They did the job in a very timely fashion and we did not experience any inconvenience. They offered to move the furniture for us, but we decided to do so ourselves. They did a superb job and we have nothing to complain about.

The first time I used Arvel Cox was 1976 and he did a great job and I looked him up and amazed he still is in business and he is very good and on time.

The job went very well. The guys got right to work upon their arrival. They showed up just a little late, but the location of the home isn't very easy to find. The work went exactly as described and the effort was well worth it. The floors look great. We had a satin urethane put down and it looks terrific. No mess afterward. No sign of sloppiness at all. Very professional work and crew.

They were on time every morning for us to let them into the house. They were done on time for us to lock up each day. They explained why some areas had permanent damage because of pet stains. Their prices were very reasonable for the repairs because we had the wood available.

Arvel was very prompt in getting me an estimate for the job. He gave me a fair price and scheduled the work to be done within a week of the estimate date. Quality was excellent. They even took the time to fill in nail holes with wood filler. I couldn't be happier with their work.

It all went very well. The floors look beautiful! Old house, the floors were appx.40 years old. The fellow that did the work was polite and informative. All staff kept in contact with any questions that came about. Very fine work.

Mr Cox gave me an estimate and informed me that it would be a few weeks before he could begin the work and that it would take a few days to complete. They showed up on time, explained the process and work schedule. Work was performed as agreed and at the exact amount of the estimate. My home is 80 years old and the floors now look they are new.

THE OFFICE STAFF WAS VERY HELPFUL. THEY DID A WONDERFUL JOB, THE WORK WAS SEAMLESS AND THE REPAIR BLENDED IN WITH THE ORIGINAL FLOORING PERFECTLY.

Mr Cox came to give us an estimate that was very reasonable for the work to be done. We scheduled a time for three weeks later. The crew showed up on time and completed the work in three days. The floors look wonderful and the work they did around the radiators looks great too. Mr Cox and his crew were very nice guys to work with.

Arvel Cox arrived at the time we agreed upon to measure and discuss the project. I was surprised to find out that the floors that I thought were maple are actually birch. Arvel assured me that the birch floors would be beautiful and that he didn't see any areas of concern. After receiving two other estimates from "A" rated Angie's List contractors, I contacted Arvel Cox to schedule. Because of the amount of furniture shuffling, I decided to do the project in two parts, first the living room, then the rest. We were able to get the first area scheduled in a week due to a large cancellation, then after five days, the remainder would start. The crew arrived on time and sealed off the area to be finished with plastic. The sanding did leave dust on the walls as anticipated. The men thoroughly vacuumed the floor before applying the first coat of finish. The next two mornings, the floors were lightly sanded, vacuumed, another coat applied and the new quarter-round installed.

Quote provided in a timely manner. Arvel Cox works essentially on a hand-shake basis and is very forthright. His crew of two showed up on time and was very neat and courteous. They did the work while we were at work and properly locked the house. No damage and the end result is excellent. The finish coat in the second room was done on a Saturday morning at no extra charge.

Working with this company was great! I had Arvel come out and give me an estimate, which ended up being $300 - $1200 cheaper than 3 other estimates I received. While I usually do not pick the absolute cheapest option, I chose Cox flooring because I had heard from other contractors and friends that they did beautiful work. They were right! It only took them 2 days to complete the entire job and it looks like I have a completely new floor. I was also very pleased that the job was completed far ahead of schedule, as originally they told me they were booked until mid April and then called me to ask if I was interested in a cancellation slot. The guys on the crew were polite and did a great job cleaning up after themselves. Their attention to detail (plugging various holes, patching damaged strips) is obvious.

FABULOUS!!! Arvel arrived promptly as scheduled for the quote. He took his time looking at the floors carefully. Where other businesses told me they would not be able to make certain repairs, Arvel was confident that these were not a problem. He got down on his hands an knees and looked at the floors carefully. He found repairs that needed to be made that I did not and that were not mentioned by the others bidding on the project. He gave me the quote onsite before he left. He was delightful, friendly, proud of his business and his employees. As soon as he was gone, I called and scheduled. It took 4 weeks to get them into the house to complete the project, but there was a major holiday in that time frame. They communicated with me well throughout the project. I could not believe my eyes when I saw the finished product.

Having the floors refinished was a major disruption in our lives. It's like moving out and moving back into your own house. We were out of the house for several days. It is important for folks to realize the great amount of work preparing for this kind of work. BUT the results were worth it! I can't begin to tell you how wonderful our floors look! I am thrilled to report our home looks warm and inviting. I think Mr. Cox did a fantastic job!

Of all the quotes, we felt that Arvel and his crew brought years of experience and were a smaller, local company with a good reputation. Plus the price was also better than the others. We felt at ease with him which was important to us and he answered all our questions regarding the process. We ended up getting our floors done in 6 weeks early due to an opening. The crew got the work done over a 4 day period. Because of the polyurethane finish, we had to be out of the house for 6 days. During the process, his team worked efficiently and did a wonderful job filling in the holes, pounding down the nails and also helping us choose the perfect wood stain and finish. The floors turned out wonderful. The price was definitely worth the investment. The crew cleaned up after themselves.

The job was done in a reasonable amount of time, and the quality of the work was very good. A few boards had to be replaced, and they were done in very professional manner and blend perfectly with the original boards. We had used Arvel to do the floors in our previous home as well, and he has always provided great work.

It's beautiful! Mr. Cox arrived promptly for the estimate and the workers were very prompt when they came to do the work. They protected everything extremely well from dust and did just an outstanding job. We couldn't be more pleased. He's extremely busy and booked pretty far ahead, so plan well in advance.

He came back and redid some areas to our satisfaction and worked with us on that. The room looks beautiful and we get a lot of compliments on it.

We were very very pleased. They performed the work exactly when they said they would. They were as careful as possible with the dust and mess. The end result was beautiful!
