Exterior Home Renovation in Arlington Heights, IL

Having replaced the first phase of windows for the O’Donnells in 2018, the 2nd phase of the exterior remodel was the complete replacement of their existing roof, siding and 2nd story windows. The existing roof had 2 layers of old asphalt shingles, which were removed down to the wood decking in order to facilitate the installation of the Certainteed ShingleMaster 4star System Warranty, which utilizes all of Certainteed’s roof components, such as the ice and water shield, felt, starter strip, ventilation components, ridge cap shingles and shingles. The existing vinyl siding was replaced with James Hardie HardiePlank Horizontal siding in a 6” Reveal with a Cedarmill (woodgrain) finish. The siding was matched with HardieTrim around the windows and doors and as outside/inside corner posts, in a smooth finish. Lastly, in an effort to really enhance the curb appeal, we updated the front porch by wrapping the existing porch posts in composite material and installing Fir tongue and groove beaded soffit material, which was then stained to match the front door.
