Noticed water dripping out of the ceiling in the garage on a Sunday morning. Found J&S Plumbing on Angie's List. Contacted them while I was on my way out of town for 3 days. My wife was at home at the time, J&S contacted her immediately on a Sunday. They came out to the house that day, diagnosed the problem, cleaned up the water logged insulation and scheduled time to replace the faulty pipe. My wife was pleased with the responsiveness, professionalism and skill of the J&S staff. From start to finish they did an exceptional job. I was out of town while the work was done but the calmness in my wife's voice when I spoke with her let me know that she was totally comfortable with how J&S managed the situation. Would strongly recommend J&S to anyone needing immediate response to a plumbing situation. Will absolutely use them again for the services they offer.

.We have a small hall 1/2 bath downstairs. The pedestal sink was leaking and the toilet had wet spots in the tile grout underneath. We had purchased a new faucet ahead of time assuming the faucet was the issue. The plumber dispatcher said they would call when the plumber was on his way, but did not. The plumber himself did arrive on time and installed the new faucet and replaced the wax rings (1 year previously by the tile installer) under the toilet which had gone bad. The cost turned out to be the same as the more expensive quote I had gotten in my initial search BUT it took about 2 1/2 hours for the total job that day. So the price was reasonable, if on the high side, in my opinion. That evening when we used the sink, the floor under the pedestal sink was quite wet, even more wet than when we initially found the leak. I called J & S back and scheduled for the plumber to come back and fix the issue. The connectors used were chromed connectors with ball ends instead of the bendable connectors with rubber washers. I agreed with the plumber that the chromed connectors looked nice, but the hot water connector was leaking badly. Also in my testing the plumber's putty on the faucet had moved significantly to allow any water from the sink splash to drip down to the floor. The next day the plumber came out again and reset the faucet (he initially wanted to caulk it, but I asked him to reset it instead as caulk is ugly and would require regular maintenance), and replaced the hot water connector with a new chromed ball connector. He ran the water and I watched closely for 10 minutes to see if any leaks and it appeared OK. That evening, the hot water connector was leaking again. I called again, and had to schedule for the following week as I was too busy with work for another two hour appointment in the middle of the day. The plumber came back again and replaced the chromed connectors with the bendable connectors with the rubber washers. It has been two days now and no leaking. While they did do a good job in correcting their mistakes, it took three visits for a simple faucet replacement. I will not use them in the future as I would hope the job could be done in one go.

The work performed was mediocre, but their professionalism with the billing structure is very poor and due to that, I will never utilize their services again. 1/7/2013 - J&S Plumbing eventually contacted me and resolved the service call fee and reimbursed me the fee. So because they resolved my complaint, I am going to raise my overall experience with them.

Great, they were out in less than an hour and were absolute professionals. Highly recommend, would use again.

The job was performed to above-satusfactory from beginning to end.

They had to come back to replace the tub drain with a turn and pull stopper. The cheap one we provide was not right for the tub and the plumber should have told us in the beginning. I mention I did not want to use it and he said it would be fine and he didn't have one on him. What kind of plumber does not have material especially when they know they are going to install a bathtub. Also the plumber made the spout pipe way to short. Another plumber came back and installed a new pipe. I was not charged for that but to replace the tub stopper so I could have a turn an pull cost me another $200. If he would have used his own material I would have had a better product. Now I'm told the PVC pipe and turn and pull stopper is not guarantee. I will not use this company again. Also, they should have given me an idea how much the entire job would cost. You know I just had a very good conversation with the owner of the company. He called me to discuss the overall project and his plumber performance. I am very satisfied with his response his willingness to resolved hear my concerns. After talking to the owner yes I will use this company again. I just want to say thank you for call me Sean.

Very smooth. Problem was resolved promptly by professionals who know what they're doing. Fair pricing and friendly.

I live in a Condo. My pipes were leaking into the unit below mine. I selected this plumbing company because it was the best of the 4 estimates I got. (Three of the estimates I got were from companies listed on Angie's List.) J & S were hard to reach, and were late on the day they did the work. However, both guys that did the work were very polite. I was very happy with their work, attitude, professionalism, patience in answering my questions, and price. They cleaned up before they left. The owner emailed me their plumbers' licenses, so I know they are licensed plumbers in my area. I'm a happy customer!

It was a good experience. J & S Plumbing Inc came on a Sunday, it was an emergency and they cleared our Sewer Line. They were polite and informative. They answered all of our questions and took the time to explain what might be going on.

They showed up when promised. The replacement was done quickly and they did NOT leave a mess. The serviceman was courteous and professional.

The drain in my basement began backing up around 7:30 on a weeknight. I was recently widowed and had no idea who to call. I tried plunging to no avail. The neighbor helped but but we both realized quickly this was more than laundry lint. I was sure it was tree roots and would need to be rodded. I quickly consulted Angie. Athough J & S is not close to Lombard, they were listed in the phone book as doing the kind of rodding I need and having 24 hour service at no extra cost. They came in less than the hour they said it would take them. Two delightful, courteous young men took care of the problem, cleaned and repaired my part of my dryer vent as well, and left the basement floor cleaner than it was when they arrived. I have their magnets for further plumbing work as well as HVAC work.

They responded quickly and professionally. They gave us an accurate estimate with no hidden costs. I would definitely use their services again.

Woke up to a kitchen sink that was clogged--running the disposal would empty it, but then water would explode up from garbage disposal. Turns out someone had poured gookie paint thinner gel down this sink rather than putting it in the trash. It completely clogged the drain. I called J&S at 1:00 pm and they said they'd have someone out around 3 pm. Jason M.and his assistant saved the day again! (They cleared a tub for me a couple of years ago.) Done in an hour and a half or so, $225 for a Sunday call, and we didn't have to replace any pipes. Thanks, J & S, for another great job.

I have used J&S three times now and been very satisfied. Today they were here to fix the pipe coming out of the house to the main sewer. They showed up on time, did quality work, had the inspector come and cleaned up. I have used them in the past for a frozen outside faucet this past winter and a rodding for a sink. Each time they were prompt and provided quality service.

I called J & S on a Saturday morning. They were at the house within 2 hours. They gave a fair estimate for replacing a kitchen faucet. The job took longer than expected, but they still charged us the original quoted price. I would definitely use them again in the future.

They came out on a Saturday afternoon, and were here less than an hour after I called them. They cleaned out and flushed a clogged drain that I couldn't fix myself. The cost was a bit high, but the service was excellent.

One of the cons of buying an old "all original" home is that issues will come up. One of the issues is the fact that we have original plumbing. To date we have had 3 separate issues with the plumbing and each time we did not hesitate to call J&S. There are more issues that will arise, we are sure of it. And at sometime we will convert to copper piping. No matter what happens or when it happens, we will only use Mark Brown from J&S. Thank you for your continued support, professionalism and responsiveness. I highly recommend them.

Excellent experience!!! We noticed a leak coming through our ceiling at 7:00pm. I connected to Angie's List and found a 24-hour plumbing company with excellent reviews. When I called J&S Plumbing, the phone operator was very friendly. I received a call back within 10 minutes. 50 minutes later a technician (Jason) was at my house. He quickly diagnosed the problem and was able to fix it in 30 minutes. He was very friendly and professional. The service was excellent!

We were very happy with the work J&S did. They were extremely professional and got the work done quickly and right. Even though they were digging through concrete they kept the garage and space they were working on very clean. They only ripped up what needed to be done. Now that it has been a while and the concrete has had a chance to settle you can hardly tell we had work done. They were able to put the pump in an out of the way space in the garage so you don't notice. They also worked with our Village to obtain the necessary permits and inspections. We were very happy with the toilet and battery back up installation as well. We plan on using them again for any plumbing needs that come up in the future.

They came out right away and fixed the problem in a quality fashion.

Mark was prompt, friendly and professional. He took care of our problem (a fill valve that was sticking), replacing the valve and inspecting all components inside the toilet. He also replaced the flexible supply line to ensure against any leaks (the old one was a little worse for wear). Offered good advice - don't use those drop-in toilet bowl cleaners - they don't always dissolve all the way and then the gel-like gunk sits in the tank and can erode the valves. He also took a look at an outside faucet that is really low to the ground. It's not that big of a deal and I didn't want to spend the money right now, but next time we do any major plumbing work, I'll have them add it to the list. I appreciated Mark's professionalism and would definitely hire J&S again.
