Came into the office for an emergency on my cat, he had blocked, and Dr. Wonders did a great job getting him unblocked. My cat had to stay for several days and did well.

Never a problem. The only wait I have is if I am fit in without an appt. They have interns often but I think they have all been fabulous. Used them for emergencies often. Clean rooms and kennels.

My father's cat was in acute renal failure when he brought it to Cornelia Veterinary Hospital. Treatment was appropriate, and thorough. However, my father is on a fixed income. He explained his financial limits prior to leaving the cat at the hospital. They drew up an estimate of the cost prior to treatment and charged a $350.00 deposit. The minimum estimate showed $542 and the maximum $710, but the final charge was $918. This included medication that sells for $32 online but my father was charged $70.
I had a similar experience just a couple days later at their affiliated clinic in Clarkesville. They asked what my budget was before seeing my cat. I stated it was around $100, yet my bill was $272. Never, during the course of the exam, did the subject of going over my budget come up until I received the bill. Again, I paid $95 for a prescription that sells online for $49. I feel that is an exorbitant markup.
My experiences with the practice previously have been both poor and good, but highly inconsistent due to personnel turnover. I had a very ill cat several years ago that was given a heavy dose of dewormer without any prior diagnostics. The cat was severely dehydrated and underweight at that point. He died at home that night. Since then, I've learned enough to know that dewormer is a very strong toxin that should not be administered to a seriously ill animal. They essentially killed the cat. This was one of their young intern vets, but that is part of the problem. Interns and newly graduated vets do not receive supervision by an experienced vet, leaving a very large margin for error.
I've had several other experiences with many other animals: horses, goats, dogs. There have been a couple vets through the years who I felt were knowledgeable, trustworthy and helpful. Dr. Wonders is very knowledgeable, but he is unlikely to be the one to treat your animal.
In summation, I'd say my overall issues are that vets go through the practice like a revolving door, and you never know what you're going to get, their prices are high for this rural area. The office staff has never made me feel welcome or appreciated as a client.
I will probably return only because there are times when I have no choice of which vet to see in this area, but not because they are my preferred provider.

The veterinarians are really nice. The office staff is very nice. The office and rooms are clean. The staff is very friendly. We have had to go in there for emergency situations and they were at-tentative and took care of us right away.
