Replacement valve failed in less than month September 2014 - October of 2014. Heritage's service was completed in September 2014, over a year ago, but decided to write review, which I had put off, but after finding out the true cause of the valve failure I decided to write a review. Heritage did check incoming water pressure or anything just shut off water and started replacing valve. As the owner of Heritage Plumbing was replacing the valve he kept talking about how the Hot water heater (50 gal gas) had probably caused the valve failure and needed to be replaced. Even after I had paid the invoice and told him I would see what happens he sat in his truck and wrote up a "quote of $2100" for a new hot water heater (standard 50 gal!!!! ) and brought it back in. The next week later a lady called from there office about replacing the hot water heater!!!!!!!! At this point didn't trust them at all.... Even thought the new valve started leaking again in October 2014 I let it go because I could go down and mess with it and it would quit for a time ( hot water was actually running out the overflow pipe when leaking (money, money, money down the drain) and I definitely didn't want to deal with Heritage. I had an emergency repair in December 2015 and called Superior Plumbing company which responded the same day and fixed the issue at a very fair price. Even though he couldn't look at the valve issue at that time he told me what he though the problem might be. I called them the next day and set up an appointment for the next week. This was a different person that came for this repair but he indicated the same probable cause which was the pressure being too high coming into the house caused by a bad main pressure valve. After checking he found the pressure was too high and replaced both the main pressure valve as well as the hot water heater relief pressure valve for approximately $50 more than Heritage charged for just replacing the relief valve. It has now been over a month and no issues plus water pressure is better in all rooms of the house. Will follow up if anything change but feel confident problem is fixed without replacing hot water heater FOR $2100?????
It was refreshing to have someone do what they promised when they promised, and at a fair price. Great job on new drain field. Highly recommended! Tommy Phillips (Heritage Plumbing) was a pleasure to work with!

We moved into a home and didn't notice that one bathroom frequently had a urine smell. We kept cleaning and cleaning. Finally, having some problems with my arms, we decided to contact the plumber.
I suggested that maybe the ring under the toilet wasn't sealed since we couldn't see the source so they unbolted the toilet. The seal seemed to be fine but they replaced the ring to make sure it re-sealed properly.
The toilet was previously sealed around the edges with the original tile grout found in the bathroom. They used a white calk. I guess this is normal for most folks. I believe some sand/brown caulk would have been closer. I certainly don't expect them to keep tile grout on their truck. But, different color latex caulk? Oh well. It's probably normal and I'm being picky.
They told me to run some CLR through the tank several times. They said there could possibly be something between the tank and throne that is stinking up the works. It did not solve the problem
Later, I stuck my darn head almost in the pot. To my surprise, there was crusted hard urine in the front edge groove of the toilet (I never knew there was one there). I also noticed the water didn't swirl all the way around the tank. So, I broke out the CLR and rubber gloves and proceeded to TRY and get it all off. I got most of it off.
They were very nice and friendly. They showed concern for the cleanliness of my floors. What we agreed to be done was done well (except the color of the caulk... my pickiness). But, I was disappointed when I found the actual problem the next day or two later. I didn't want to haggle over more expense. I just did as best as I could by myself.
Suggestion: If you use them, don't be like me and speculate as to the problem. Just tell them the symptoms and agree to pay them when they find the problem and fix it (or give you an estimate). My bad.
