Excellent.  The guys were very friendly and helpful.  Price was fair and I'll definitely return.  What I like about these guys is that they know their specialty and stick to it.  All I saw were push mowers and not a variety of random other items.  This is also why it only took a few days to repair during a busy mowing season.

Got a call a few days after dropping it off and they said needed a brand new carb and it would be $130.  I paid less than $200 for the mower less than a year ago.  I had called before dropping it off  to see how much it would cost to just clean the carb and that is $60.  It made no sense to me that a brand new mower would need a new carb just due to 6 month old stale gas so I decided not to go ahead with the repair.  When I went in to pick it up they told me my mower had a plastic carb and those couldn't be cleaned.  I had already looked up videos on the internet for this SAME mower and seen a guy go through step by step how to clean it, I just didn't want to take the time to do it.  However, now I was determined to see if they were right.  So i brought the mower home, got out the can of carb cleaner, and 1 hr later I had a working mower (I could do it in 20 mins now that i have done it once).
I think this all came down to time vs. revenue for them.....it would take them much longer to clean the carb than to just swap it out for a new one and they would make at least as much profit from the new part.  Plus, if I didn't go through with the repair they made $35 off me without having to do anything.
So, what i would say is that if you have a lower-end lawn mower don't take it here or you will end up paying almost as much as the mower cost.

"Dear [member name removed], We are sorry you were not satisfied with our service, but would like to explain what actually was done for your thirty five dollor evaluation fee. We actually did try to clean your carburetor and were unsuccessful in doing so thats why we recommended a new carb. As you said, this is a low end mower and with a plastic carb it will not come apart to do a proper cleaning (Float bowl cannot be removed) The majority of carb cleaning is caused by ethanol in our gas which cloggs up the carburetors if left to long which was exactly what happened to yours. Actually I'm quite surprised that just spraying carb cleaner resolved the problem, but if it did GREAT! I called you this morning to see if it still is working properly. You review is the first negative one we've had in three years and am quite concerned we have lost a good customer. In fact we have been consistently been picked as one of the top lawn mower repair shops in our area. As a recommendation if this happens again I would purchase a Honda mower. Not only are they a much better mower, but the cost to replace their carb is almost one third the price of yours - a much better deal. Plus use non-ethanol gas which some stations are currently carrying. To locate the closest station go to [hyperlink removed] which will give you the closest station in your area to get non-ethanol gas. If it would help I would personally be happy to refund your $35.00 evaluation fee. And by the way I totally agree with you not to spend the $132.93 to fix a $200.00 mower. Hope this helps Bob Golub"

"Thanks [member name removed], Glad we could help!! One other point, please make sure you keep new gas in your machine. More and more gas stations are carrying ethanol free gas which we highly recommend. (For all your gas powered equipment) THEY EVEN HAVE COME OUT WITH AN APP CALLED PUREGAS.ORD TO FIND THE CLOSEST STATION THAT SELL THIS GAS Thanks again Bob Golub"

Our riding lawnmower (LawnBoy zero turn radius) wouldn't start, even though the battery was still cranking the engine. They took it back to their shop, cleaned the carburetor, and brought it back. Partway through the repair, they called to let us know what they found -- no surprises. After they finished, they returned it in great shape, cleaned up, back to where it had come from.
I should note that a riding lawnmower that won't start isn't very mobile. In our case, it was in our back yard, which required a lengthy up-hill push / pull operation. They were very accommodating, and we finally got it in their trailer.
I highly recommend these folks.

I have two lawn mowers, and one of them is a 15-year old Craftsman mower that just keeps on running. It hadn't been serviced in a number of years and was starting to run a little rough. I brought it in on Friday and by Monday it was ready to be picked up. They changed the oil, spark plug, and air filter, sharpened the blade, checked and adjusted the carborator and checked the cables. It sounds wonderful now; almost new.
Bob, the owner, takes a personal interest in each customer, not just me, but others who were in his shop.
As a side note, earlier I had also brought in a leaf blower that wasn't running at all; it needed a new carborator. In addition, I have had my second lawn mower, a newer Honda mower serviced. In both cases, they are running just fine and the cost for each was very reasonable.
I am very impressed with the quality and speed of Phoenix Mower's service and will recommend them to my friends and neighbors.

"Hi Customer, Thanks so much for your review and your help getting in the Nesbit Lakes Newsletter. Customers like you make this business so enjoyable, meeting interesting people like yourself. As you told me I think we fill a need in the neighborhood and because I was retired and driving my wife crazy, I'm definitely filling a need with her. Again thanks so much for your business and kind words. If you have any problems with the equipment we serviced, please bring it back for a free service. Sincerely, Bob Golub"
