I have a white, standing seam metal roof. Why white? More reflectivity than galvalume, better emissivity . . . it just made sense environmentally and energy-wise. BUT, trees and pollen and city pollution ad Florida humidity conspire against any roof . . . and in less than a year, the roof was streaked with green algae . . . which I could not budge. Home Advisor sent me Kevin. He set an appointment to see me, called when he was getting close to my house, and showed up on time. He introduced himself, told me about the Softwash process, and addressed my concerns. When I hesitated, he pulled out the hoses and started washing my roof to show me how the process worked. Heck, even his truck was clean. TOTAL PROFESSIONAL! I was sold. That algae was STUBBORN. But Kevin worked gently and got every bit of it. He eventually had to get up on the roof to get to some hard to reach places. The thought of anyone on that roof scares me . . . both for the individual on the roof and for the roof itself -- it could get dented, scraped up, or marred by the soles of the roof-walkers footwear. But, KEVIN WORE WHITE GALOSHES! No hunky treaded hiking boots or sneakers/running shoes with the slits that trap sand or grit. These things were soft . . . and with no color dye other than the white, they were not going to mark ANYTHING! Ingenious. Those white boots sold me as much as anything because they told me that Kevin was a man who cared about protecting his customers valuable property. When Kevin got to the back of the house, he saw that a close to the house cabbage palm had set some dead fronds on the roof. **Got a saw?** he said. And between a pole saw and a set of loppers, he trimmed back my palm. No whining, ** I am not a tree trimmer** No complaining and saying, **That will be an extra $50** Kevin saw a problem and just did what needed to be done so he could continue cleaning the roof. Kevin told me the job would take about 3 hours. It did. So, what is not to love! A courteous, knowledgeable professional, friendly enough to take the time to explain things but also focused on getting the job done (and done right) in a timely manner, and thoughtful enough to **dress for success** even if that means wearing white rubber go-go boots. A Softwash process that lays down a cleaning solution, uses a soft bristle brush, and rinses away grime gently without threatening to blast away the painted finish. (Algae can cause staining and paint deterioration on a metal roof, so you cannot just ignore it, no matter what color that roof is.) And then, theres the results. My roof looks new again! Shiny. Reflecting the blue sky. I know, the next time we get a bright, sunny afternoon, I will again enjoy the dappled shadows of the tree leaves dancing over my roof (which is one of the most awesomely beautiful things about a white roof). But, I am probably going to trim those trees back a bit more . . . too much of a good thing is not so good. Would I hire Kevin again? In a minute. I am an older woman and I was very comfortable having him here -- I am usually **antsy** when people are working around my house, but Kevins knowledge, professionalism, willingness to **cut palms** and focus made having him around a pleasure. His work far exceeded my expectations... and I am PICKY. Thank you, Kevin. I do wish you all the best with your business . . . and if you need some bamboo, just ask. I have got way more than I need.
