When our AC died last month, I did a lot of research about reputable contractors and sought out quotes from them. Ferran came in the best price for the Carrier Infinity system I wanted. But as I read on hvac-talk.com, you should never choose an AC contractor based on price alone. From what I read, the longevity of your investment is *hugely* influenced by the quality of the installation and dealer support. Knowing that Ferran has been in business since at least the 1980's (longer, I think), I figured I wouldn't be getting just a good price, I'd be getting good installation and support. Even though I've only had the system for a week, I think I was right. Our salesman Jim was experienced, professional, easy going and good to work with. He really worked with me to achieve what I wanted from the system, coming out to my house several times to get all the pre-installation details just right, suggesting several possible alternatives, and working with me to fix a flaw in the system that had existed since the builder installed the old unit - the return duct was half the size it should have been. Fixing it required moving an electrical outlet and working with code enforcement, but Jim made it all happen so when the installers came, everything was all set to go. The two installers arrived about 10 a.m. and were gone by 4:30 or so. They were friendly, well groomed, professional, and worked well together. They covered their working area with tarps and vacuumed up the dust from cutting the new return duct opening. The new equipment was professionally installed. Unlike the old heat pump, the Ferran guys screwed this one down onto the concrete pad outside. (They even leveled the pad which was leaning to one side after 10 years in the rain.) When the installation was complete, they ran a full system diagnostic which took around 30 minutes. They also programmed the thermostat for me and showed me how to use it. Working with Ferran's credit department was great, too. Everything except the final signatures was done over the phone and it only took a few minutes. When it came time to sign on the dotted line, their credit representative even drove out to our side of town to meet us at a Panera Bread where we signed the 24 months same as cash agreement. If you're in the market for a new Carrier AC system, at the very least Ferran should be on your short list of contractors to contact to come out and get an estimate.

Overall, the work was good and there were no issues at all during the installations.

I contacted Ferran regarding a back up issue in the bathroom of my rental home on a Sunday evening, they called me back right away and offered to come out that evening but did advise me of the additional fee due to it being a weekend. We agreed to have them come out on Monday morning instead. They were at the house promptly at 9:00, After snaking the drain, it was found that someone had been throwing disinfectant wipes down the toilet. After about an hour, as laundry was being down at the same time the dishwasher was running the bathroom shower started backing up again. We called Ferran and they came right back and snaked again but went deeper this time. It was discovered that the actual pipes were being crushed by roots of a tree. About a week later the tub in my own home started backing up as well (yes, this is true) I immediately called Ferran and they returned the call. This was Labor day weekend and I had them come out since I could not wait until Tuesday for someone to come. After using the snake at my home the same disinfectant wipes were found. (my rental house is rented by my nephews who are my house frequently). The service technician was very informative and polite and professional despite having to come out on a holiday weekend. I was very impressed and recommend Ferran for all your plumbing needs.

I decided to get a second opinion and got an small company, ElectroCool in to inspect.Within an hour the gentleman found the gas leak - which was simply a valve located on the external AC unit that was left open ( by another company, ProMag Energy Group Orlando FL, who "serviced" our AC units earlier in the season during general maintenance.... ) . ProMag by the way reported that the freon levels were on the low side and that we should get it replenished for a "mere $990" ). Soon after ProMag left the AC unit stopped working...!ElectroCool then fixed the AC unit, filled the freon and all said and done for $400.I cannot stress enough how disappointed I was with Ferran's evaluation and quotation.I am very thankful that I got a second opinion.I sent an email to the customer relations department of Ferran but did not even get a reply.Needless to say that Ferran will never get any business or recommendation from my family, friends, nor colleagues.

The guy who came out to quote was prompt, professional, and accurate. The guy who came out to do the work was efficient and professional.

I expected a company this size to schedule an estimate, as their competitors did. Their competitors scheduled appointments, took my telephone number, and followed up to assure service. Ferran did none of this.

Our electric company recommended them. The prices seemed fair. The quality of work was very good.

They were very expensive but they did a good job. They had the right equipment when they came out. I had a big problem and he spent the time to find it and got it fixed. They were expensive and it cost me $450. He was here for probably 3 hours. It maybe the standard cost for what he did but it was more than I had expected.

I spent $1340 on that work. I liked the service technician, Yunier. He was very knowledgeable, easy to talk to and he told me what I could do to save money. He told me that I could replace all the grills and ducts myself to save money. He was honest about that and also about which ducts needed to be replaced and which did not. They were late on one day.

I had to get a new air conditioner. They were pretty punctual and they showed up the same day that I called.

Everything about the process, from my first meeting with Jim, to the installation was awesome. I met with Jim and we went over the options, and he was very informative about the differences between the systems. Jim emailed me a quote detailing the different systems. At first, I wasn't going to go witht he Carrier Infinity System due to the price, but with the $1200.00 rebate Carrier was offering, the Infinity was really not that much more than the Carrier Performance System. On the day of the install, they came out that morning and had the new unit installed by mid afternoon. I was suprised at how big the outside unit was, but that is why it is so efficient. The install went well, with only one problem. The problem was that the Air Purifier System that I wanted would not fit, as there was not enough room. This was discovered during the install. However, JIm had an alternative Air Purifier system that would fit to the house within an hour. I didn't get the one I wanted, but they took care that I got a good one, and they gave me a discount since I couldn't get the one I wanted. I looked at the ratings for Ferran on Angie's List before I made my decision, and they have a great reputation. I am glad I went with them, and I would highly recommend going with them if you are getting a new system. One final note about the Infinity System. It comes with a 10 Year warranty for both parts and LABOR. Yes, that is not a misprint. The 10 year warranty includes labor. How about that for peace of mind!

I was so impressed with their work I'm going to hire them back to do installation. They were the cheapest around. I got a rebate back from Progress Energy. If you told them what other price people were giving, they will work with you on the price. They were the most honest. They're car is marked and everyone has badges; they were very professional. They cleaned up whatever mess they made and were in and out in a timely manner.

They jumped on it, they got out here the next morning because it was late at night when I called. My wife and I go way back with them, we've never been dissatisfied with them. They did a repipe for my wife years ago and that when just fine. They wired some attic fans for me and that was fine. The one time we weren't able to use them is because they were honest enough to say that they couldn't handle the job at the time. I needed an emergency repipe and they had just lost their repipe man and they said they weren't capable of doing a good job for me. Their prices aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for. They do the job right and guarantee it. Shortly after the repair was done the AC went out again and it tripped a breaker. It didn't have anything to do with their repair but I didn't know that. I got on the phone with them and they set me up with another appointment. I then discovered it was probably just an EMF pulse from lightening. I called them back, but they were ready to jump right on it as a warranty repair - they didn't give me any song and dance. I always feel confident calling them. It was 90 degrees out and the worker went above and beyond for the repair. Others may have said they had to get a second guy or charge me for two trips, but this guy wouldn't give us.

A Ferran employee came out in mid March of 2011 to give us an estimate for some electrical work--replacing two panel boxes and rewiring our kitchen for a remodel. He said he couldn't give me an estimate for the kitchen rewiring because the walls weren't opened up and he couldn't assess the current state of the wiring (which seemed odd to me because other electricians were able to give me estimates for the job). He said he could give me an estimate for replacing the panel boxes, though. About a month later, I finally got the estimate for the panel boxes via email. I had already chosen another electrician by then.

Pricing was reasonable. Work done quickly and efficiently. Shown 2 solutions with price options for rework. Liked the options. Have uniquely sized return grille Ferran to order and replace.

They are always on time and they are real fair with their price. They tell you upfront how much its going to cost. They do different types of repairs, like appliances and air conditioning.

Ferran Services & Contracting service did say that they could fix my air conditioner, but I did not go with them. I had to pay them a service charge. They gave us a discount as we were on the Angie’s list. They were nice and good. The service man was excellent. Our conditioner is 8 years old, so he would not go out and say if we do this repair we cannot say that in a month the coil would go or whatever. They did give us a price for new air conditioner, which was in the middle. I would use their service in the future too.

The techs showed up on time (they worked in a team of 2), worked efficiently, took time to explain the maintenance of the unit to me.

The company that installed the water heater was totally incompetent. There were a number of violations that had to be corrected. They are going to have to run additional lines because the water heater draws more power than the line can carry. We have to put a new one in and a new circuit breaker. They will also be doing an extra line for my dryer. I will be having them do the work next week.

We needed to replace pendant lighting in the bathroom and have exhaust fans installed. We had purchased a recessed lighting exhaust fan combo, a few issues arose with placement because of the configuration of our attic, something we hadn't considered. Fortunately, they were able to figure out a way for proper placement. Very happy with the results and they were very friendly, helpful and we are glad that we chose them.

A day or two after the repair a deputy sheriff arrived at my door along with a Progress Energy lineman, the deputy informed me that they were there to shut off my power since they thought that I had not fulfilled my agreement. Fortunately , I had the receipt for the work which included the charge for the permit. I was able to get them to agree to a 96 hr extension. I contacted Ferran and found that they had not pulled the permit. resulting in no inspection and no indication to PE that the work had been done. Ferran pulled the permit and got the inspection performed.(thus the grade of D on Professionalism)

I've used them for 15 years and I am very satisfied with them. They have put a new thermostat in and they do general maintenance work. The prices are fair and their service men are very courteous. They come when they say they are going to come.

They came out quickly. They confirmed the water softener was not leaking.
