Let me start by saying that I don't take leaving a review of this type lightly. I'm a firm believer that small businesses truly are the backbone of this country. I leave this review with a somewhat heavy heart after going out of my way to resolve things privately and fairly with the owner of the business. We contracted Just Move It to move from our 4 bed/4 bath house in Winter Park, FL, to our new home in Winter Springs, FL, on 6/5/24. The crew arrived 90 minutes late and, once on the scene, asked my wife to sign paperwork excluding Full Value Protection. Unaware that offering this option is standard practice, my wife signed the documents to avoid further delays, as the crew told her they were already on the clock and couldn't start until she signed. Once they began, my wife walked the team lead, Kevin, around the house to highlight specific items requiring special care. Kevin assured her they would handle a fragile floor lamp, which was later damaged during the move. The lamp, with three non-removable glass globes, was supposed to be wrapped by Kevin himself, while my wife was advised to take smaller glass lamps in our vehicles. Initially, things progressed, but Kevin suggested calling an additional man to catch up since the move started late, to which my wife agreed. An extra mover arrived in his personal vehicle shortly thereafter, adding $20 per hour to our bill. Around 1 pm, my family and I left for our closing. The movers promised to notify us when they were done, but since we hadn't heard from them, I returned to our old house instead of going to the new one. When I returned, the crew was preparing to leave for the new property with trucks fully loaded but significant items left behind, including living room furniture, beds, televisions, a grandfather clock, the floor lamp, and more. They assured me another truck was on its way, but over the next hour, no truck arrived, and repeated attempts to contact Brian, the owner, were unsuccessful. Finally, I reached him using a different phone number, but he denied the promise of another truck and dismissed prior arrangements, some of which are in writing. The small truck eventually returned after unloading at the new house. I had moved items into the garage to expedite loading. The crew did not wrap the lamp or the grandfather clock as promised. While unloading, Kevin tripped and shattered one of the lampâ s globes. He assured us it was his responsibility and that his boss would handle it. After nearly 10 hours, we ended the service. Brian offered $50 off for the late start, which was later raised to $100. As we unpacked, we discovered two guitars, an amplifier, and a drill were missing. I spent three days messaging Brian and asking for his assistance in locating these items or filing a lost item report. It was four days later when Brian got back to me, only after I threatened to file reports with the proper authorities. Throughout our communications, Brian reiterated that he and his people are not responsible, offering only $.60 per pound for damages and losses. He repeatedly claimed I have no proof these items ever existed (what?) , much less that his crew handled them. Despite providing photographs and receipts, and offering further proof if he specified what would suffice, Brian remained uncooperative and insisted on needing video evidence of an actual theft. I'm seeing a pattern of items being damaged or lost, with the consistent answer being that homeowners are trying to pull a scam. I have offered many times to have a good faith discussion to treat each other with respect and find a mutually agreeable solution, but Brian refuses to take any responsibility and continues to tell me there's no way to prove I ever even owned these lost items. People/businesses are judged on how they rise to the occasion when things go wrong. Breaking/"losing&am...
