I'm VERY happy with the entire process, from the estimate thru project completion! This company gets my Page of Happiness vote!! The salesperson, Jason, was very knowledgeable, thorough and responded quickly to numerous follow up questions. I especially appreciated that he provided an estimate for another manufacturer in addition to PGT. (I had told every estimator that I was price sensitive, wanted quality, but was not brand conscious.) Some time went by between the original estimate and the contract signing and I felt that Jason followed up at an appropriate intervals. He also answered my many questions immediately (including several follow-ups via email). The owner, Jamie, also provided great communication. He told me what would happen at each step of the process and everything occurred exactly as described. Several examples: I signed the contract just before Thanksgiving and it was understood that the windows would be delivered Christmas week (4 week process time). When Jamie placed the order, the week after the holiday, and found that PGT could not deliver the order until Jan. 8th, he called to advise me of the new date. When the windows arrived (as expected), he called day before to let me know when to expect delivery. I was apprehensive about the amount of space the windows would take up in the house until installation. However, just as I was told, they took up very little room (less than a 3' by 6' area). The one time there was a delay in the workmen arriving (and that about an hour), Jamie called to let me know when they would arrive and the reason for the delay. (This was to get additional pressure treated wood for the bucking, which was necessary because the way my original windows were installed--20 years ago- no longer met the building code.) Completion of this project took approximately 8 days, which included finalling the permits for the windows and door. A 1/2 day of this was a delay on my part due to a family emergency. This was the short side of the timeline I was told the entire project would take, not including inspection. The workers began the Monday following the delivery, worked diligently all day (8:30/9AM to 5/6PM+) Monday thru Saturday as well as the better part of the following Monday (holiday) and Tuesday. They enclosed themselves inside plastic sheeting when working inside the house and vacuumed up afterward, so there was minimal mess/dust and the air conditioning didn't work overtime to keep the house comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised how little clean up there was at the end of each day! The old windows were removed at the end of the job. No debris, parts of the old windows or packaging were left behind I'm also very impressed, not only with the PGT products--which are great!, but by how the project was finished. The stucco work and caulking done after the windows were installed was very neat and thorough. They grouted inside by the sliding glass doors where there were gaps between the doors and the tile (very small gap). There were several places where the stucco near the windows, but not caused or damaged by the installation, needed patching and they patched that as well. For example, the stucco on the outside threshold under the sliding glass doors needed repair (and I had planned to have this done afterward). When the stucco was done around the sliding door installation, they also did these thresholds and it all looks great! All in all, I feel that SRW&D went "above and beyond". I am very appreciative and can hardly stop admiring the finished project. Tho this is the 1st part of a major remodeling project ( I've lived here 18+ years, so there's much yet to be done), the house looks much improved already!

Found SRW&D Inc on Angies List. Met with Mr. Schaffer and had the door installed. Mr. Schaffer is professional and polite. He tries hard to meet the customers' needs. After the door was installed, we picked the colors of the paint for the door. He sent me an email to double check with me to make sure that I realized that I picked a very dark color for the interior paint. We reconsidered our decision and picked a lighter color just hours before the painter came for the job. Today when I was giving him the last payment check, he noticed the crack under the threshhold, took photos with his cell phone and called the door installer immediately to make sure he would come back sometime next week to fix it. Mr. Schaffer cares about his customer from the beginning to the end. He will make us remember him for a long time. I highly recommend Mr. Schaffer and his business to anyone who needs the kind of work done.

Jamie is very thorough and very professional. It took us a long time to finally decide to do the replacements. It was a lot of money because we were replacing all the old windows and doors. Jamie gave us an estimate in July and we didn't actually commit to it until September. Nevertheless, he had all of our files and remembered his visit as though only a week had passed. I had explored some other suppliers and SRW&D was not the lowest estimate but they weren't the highest either. In the end we just liked Jamie and felt that the price was fair. We were not disappointed at all with the installation. His installers were clean workers and efficient. I even trusted Jamie to come and go when we were not home - not something I do often. These guys do good work, and I'm happy to recommend them.

At times I suffer from analysis paralysis. Before settling on a contractor I must have gotten 6 estimates. Of the companies I considered most of the people who came to my home to offer a quote really didn't know anything about construction or doors. When Jamie came to my home right away he distinguished himself immediately by demostrating a detailed knowledge of his trade. Most companies offer basically the same products from the same manufacturers although some companies prefer to use one over the other so the main issue in my view was finding that company that would do the best job at installation and finish work. I ended up going with the ECO 600 door over the PGT and could not be happier with my choice. The doors are gorgeous and although one initially has a noisy flush bolt Jamie made sure someone from the manufacturer contacted me to fix the issue which they did. In all it was a great experience and I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others without hesitation.

I engaged Superior Windows & Doors to replace every single window and exterior door in my home. This was obviously a large and daunting job, especially in a 1953 vintage home in Coral Gables that occasionally yields a "surprise" architecturally-speaking. I appreciated that Jamie (the company owner) came out himself to thoroughly evaluate my home, and was extremely professional, courteous, and was involved throughout the installation process. I also appreciated the detailed estimate he provided, and the ability to explain any areas I had questions on. There were a few bumps during the job, not unexpected in a job of this size especially with some of those old house "surprises" I mentioned earlier. But because Jamie thankfully believes in "measuring twice (or sometimes three times in his case!) and cutting once," everything went remarkably smoothly. I doubt things would have gone so well without the high level of attention, care, and integrity that Jamie and his crew brought to my job. Jamie also gave me one of his best lead installers, the amazing and courteous Alejandro who was very skilled and very careful to protect my home from damage during the installation process. Alejandro even held a vacuum cleaner near where the heavy drilling was taking place to reduce the dust, as well as laying down plastic and tarps. Of interest to some, my 3 replacement exterior doors are impact-resistant fiberglass, with a wood grain appearance. Very attractive doors and (almost?) maintenance-free = a plus in Florida! Jamie can help you to choose what's right for your home. Another important point, this contractor knows how to work with Coral Gables. Due to excellent preparation, documentation, and professionalism, we also flew through the Coral Gables inspection process without a peep from the inspectors, i.e. everything was approved quickly and painlessly! Long story short, I was very pleased with Mr. James Schaefer and his company Superior Windows & Doors and recommend them highly, without reservation.

Highly recommend SRW&D -- from start to finish an excellent experience with them. Jamie gave a clear, comprehensive estimate, and even recommended against replacement of one window that would have made the job more lucrative for them. Everything was handled extremely professionally: obtaining all the permits and inspections from city of Coral Gables, keeping us in the loop about the timing of the order and the work schedule, and when it came time to install the impact glass windows in our house Reuben and Glavier did a fine job, working long hours to meet our schedule (we were leaving for a trip and wanted the work to be completed before we left), and being extremely careful to explain what they were doing and to leave everything in good shape each evening when they left. We couldn't be happier with the results. Of course we hope we never have to test the strength of the windows in a storm, but we are confident about the work, and the windows look great.

I found Superior Replacement Window and Door on Angie's list and read the reviews decided to use them. Jamie, the owner came to my home, measured all doors and windows. I received an estimate within a few days which came in slightly under budget much to my suprise. A few days later Jamie and Jason his employee came to my home again and to check accuracy of the measurements, and to review the paperwork with me. Jamie and Jason explained each step of this procedure thoroughly so there would be no misunderstandings for which I was grateful. The delivery and payment issues were also explained and included in the written estimates. There was nothing left out or to be misinterpreted. The windows and doors were delivered within the time frame promised and the work began right away. The installation went off without a problem of any kind. There was nothing for me to do regarding any special cleanup. The men took great care during the installation so there would be no dust or debris. They all worked continuously with no time wasted. All debris was removed from my property. This was service that I have not received in a very long time and I am pleased. Jaime, Jason, and all of the installers were professional and excellent at their craft. The inspections were completed, the final payment was made, and Jamie came by to inspect all work himself at the beginning, during, and after the job was complete. The quality, craftsmanship, and price was excellent.

Jamie took care of Coral Gables city approval procedures, including architect's subcontract. The installation went smoothly, and the crew (Glaver and others) were careful and thorough. Overall we are very satisfied with the Eco Systems windows and the quality of service. One small regret: we did/redid the keying and door hardware (to all one key with Medeco locks), but wish the choices had been explained and this work included.

I have two impact windows leaking from the recent heavy rains and am looking for someone to assess the reasons and repair them. I called SRWD and talked directly to Jamie. He explained that they don't normally do repairs unless they installed the windows themselves. They are also fairly well booked for the next few weeks. I appreciated the honesty and upfront explanation where others may have attempted to string me along or made promises they couldn't keep. I would try them again if/when i have another job.

I needed a door replaced to comply with a Citizen's Insurance inspection. This company came out and did the job within a week of my calling them.

After interviewing five different contractors, we decided to go with Superior Replacement Window and Door, mainly because Jamie was the most professional, detailed, and most confident in his presentation. His quote was not the cheapest we received, but we did not care for that anyway ? with a big project like ours we needed to go for quality. The first time Jamie came to the house and after we explained what we needed he took measurements and promised a quote within a few days. After the first quote was delivered as promised, we decided to make some changes to our initial plan which required another visit by Jamie. He and his employee Jason came to our house two more times in order to ensure the measurements are accurate and mostly because we had changed our plan twice. Throughout the process Jamie was extremely professional. On his third visit Jamie discussed the contract, which was very detailed and itemized not leaving any room for confusion or misunderstanding. He required a typical deposit and said that the manufacturer delivery timeframe was four-six weeks. The windows were finished sooner than anticipated and were delivered to us two weeks before the projected date. We stored them in our garage until Jamie called with the installation date. The installation started one week after windows were delivered and we were assigned a team of two people ? Alejandro and his assistant. Initially, there were some minor issues regarding the installation team and dates and at this point I became a little nervous about the whole process. However, Jamie did his best to accommodate our demands and our schedule, so the whole installation process went without any problem whatsoever. They were delayed by the rain for a couple of days, which deferred the project a little bit, but the guys worked tirelessly to finish in two weeks time as indicated in the contract. The guys were really nice, showed up on time, worked tirelessly and they left a minimal amount of debris after them. This was a big job, and they did it very well. The inspection was scheduled the day after installation was finished and we passed with flying colors. Jamie kept us informed throughout. If I had to point to any negative things related to Jamie?s company or our project I would probably say that I was a little bothered with the fact that we had a short notice regarding the installation start. Actually, Jamie contacted us a week in advance, but only to tell us that he already arranged for the installation to begin the next week without making sure if this was ok with our schedule. This was the week of Memorial Day weekend and we had already made travel plans which we had to modify a little bit. But, like I said ? Jamie did his best to work with us on this issue and everything ended well. After the inspection was done we received a follow-up email from Jason, as well as a phone call from Jamie making sure that we are happy and to check if we had any questions or concerns. I appreciated this kind of service very much. I am a very demanding customer; I know what I want and how I want it ? the bottom line is that Jamie and his staff are extremely professional, they know what they are doing and they try their best to provide best customer service. We have to replace our entry door which we already discussed with Jamie, and we will most likely hire Superior Replacement Window and Door for this project as well because we can rely on their high quality work.

This was a very easy company to work with. I usually avoid companies that subcontract work, but this time it worked out okay. Jamie was very responsive in coming to my residence to measure the windows, and an estimate quickly followed. I liked the fact that when I received the estimate via email a sample copy of his contract was attached. It was helpful to me that the estimate was broken down window by window instead of lump-sum quotes I received from the other companies I contacted for estimates. The contract made it very clear how much money was to be paid at different stages of the work. I also liked that the fact that the final payment was not due until after the windows had passed Dade County inspection. After the contract was signed, the work commenced within 30 days.Once work started, Jamie made almost daily appearances at my residence to make sure everything was proceeding correctly. He made it very clear that if I was not completely satisfied with something, I needed to let him know right away. As with any big job inside my home, there were things the workers did that I liked and some things they did that I didn't like. The positives were that the three men showed up on time every day and worked hard. There wasn't any goofing around or leaving for long lunches. When the drill was used, a vacuum was also used to keep dust levels down. The men were professional and proficient in their work. The stucco repair was very nicely done. One large window frame had been repaired by the home owners' association handyman, but was not completed up to code. When the new window was installed, the workmen made the necessary repairs to bring the window up to code. A three-panel sliding glass door in the living room had problems because the cement foundation under the window had eroded. This was repaired as well. The negatives were that I felt the workmen did only what they absolutely were required to do--no more no less (the disadvantage with subcontractors). Their work installing the windows was fine, but they left lots of dings in the drywall that I had expected them to repair. There was a sticky caulk-like substance left on the windows that was very difficult to remove. I had to use nail polish remover and a razor blade to get it off. There were several things damaged in the house (a toilet shut-off valve, a granite windowsill with a cracked corner, a pulled thread in a carpet that was a victim to the above-mentioned vacuum, a screw down the garbage disposal, and a couple other minor things. None of these problems were brought to my attention, but rather left for me to discover on my own. If someone breaks something in my home, I expect them to come forward and tell me about it. There was one day when a cement cutter failed to show up. After a three-hour delay, Jamie made arrangements with another company to complete the work so the day wasn't wasted. Even during stressful times, Jamie kept his cool and got the job done. I would recommend Superior Replacement Window & Door for any window needs.

Although not the usual type of work he accepts, Jamie was very accommodating and helpful. His team did an excellent job removing the old window and installing the new one in a timely, professional and tidy manner. Great experience all around. Highly recommend this company and will use again in the future when I do all my windows and doors.

We contacted Mr. Jamie Schaeffer, owner of Superior Replacement Window & Door, Inc. (SRW&D) regarding the replacement of two sets of wooden french doors/ side light panels, and a plate glass bay window with impact resistant glass products. Mr. Shaeffer came out to the house personally. He almost immediately pointed out that we may expect an additional several thousand dollars of collateral expenses to upgrade the bay window structure to current code for the window glass installation to pass inspection. We opted to forgo the plate glass installation, instead focusing on the french door replacement. Mr. Shaeffer provided us with a thorough explanation of how the installation would proceed. Our selection of door products exceeded our budget. Mr. Shaeffer provided us with options for more affordably priced doors compatible with the architectural design of the house. Additionally, Mr. Shaeffer gave us accurate and realistic estimates on the custom made product availability and installation timetable. The replacement doors/side lights were delivered as forecasted. The SRW&D installation crew was professional and thorough, and made every effort to clean up the area at the end of each day. All work was completed on schedule. The final job easily passed the required inspections. We have since recommended SRW&D to a friend. This was an outstanding contractor experience. It was a pleasure dealing with Mr. Schaeffer and his staff.

Jamie came ego the house to quote the job, which had two phases being 9 windows and 3 large sliding glass doors. He pointed out some potential structural issues related to the doors relating to the differing codes since our house was built and had a contractor come in to inspect and quote on that aspect. he provided a quote on the windows separate from the doors which we agreed to. Ordering the windows took about 6 weeks if I remember correctly but was right in line with his estimate. They took care of all the permitting and installation was done in two days with the site left clean. We're very pleased and are looking at the second phase now.

Dealing with Jamie and his company was a pleasure. His quote and pricing was very fair, but even more so his work was fantastic....Everything went as scheduled even though I changed my mind with my order a few times. Jaime always answered his phone and answered all my questions during the entire process...and trust me I had a ton of questions..I tend to ask a million questions before I start any job..He politely and patiently dealt with all my questions and concerns. On the days of installs all the work was done as promised and I am beyond pleased. His workers were always on time. One last comment that I feel is one of the most important, his workers were as clean as possible and respected my home. They used drop clothes around all furniture and did not move on to the next window until the previous window area was clean. They brought their own vacuum and cleaning supplies. This was important to me and after the first day, I felt so comfortable with everyone that I left them at my home unattended the entire next to days. Everyday when I got home my house was clean, they would show me the work that was done, and went over the schedule for the next day. To me this type of comfort with a company is truly priceless. James was wonderful to work with. He came the very day that I called, and gave me an estimate. He provided me with three options for my old window, which was a large picture window in the middle with two outdated jalousied windows on the side, one of which was broken, allowing hot air from outside to pour in. The window was ordered, and the men that came to install it were very pleasant hard workers, who installed the window in the pouring rain. We are very happy with the window, the price, and the workers. My husband is now talking about getting an estimate for another similar window in our family room. I would not hesitate to use this company again for any window or door needs.In addition, James is a very nice guy, who provided me with some contacts for painting and fascia work that we need to have done. All around great experience...

Jamie and his installers were prompt, professional, and very clean. The whole job took about 5 weeks including permitting and factory wait time. I was very pleased and recommended the company to a dear friend, who is also having the work done. I am also having more work done myself.

Jamie responded to our request for a quote right away & communicated with us well throughout the process. The installers were very polite and cleaned up after themselves even washing the windows outside and putting the labels where we could reach them once the inspection was complete. The quality of the windows and the workmanship - including new stucco was outstanding. We flew through the inspection yesterday. When we replace our other windows, we will definitely call SRWD

Jamie and his crew were punctual with every appointment. The job took one week and they were here everyday from 9-5 until it was completed. From beginning to end no days were missed or skipped. They worked in a very professional and clean manner. Every detail was finished with our complete satisfaction. When I had a question, Jamie always returned my calls or emails within minutes. In the beginning when I was gathering estimates from other companies Jamie's estimate seemed to be the only one that was complete with every detail thought through. I was afraid the other companies estimates were not complete therefore adding to the cost of the job before completion. All in all, I must say dealing with this company was one of the best contractor experiences I've ever had.

From the initial contact and estimate, through measuring, ordering, permitting, installation and inspection, the owner Jamie Schaffer and his crew were knowledgeable and thorough. The city of Coral Gables requires a detailed architectural review and permitting process and Jamie Schaffer was very skilled at coordinating and moving us through these procedures. His past experience with projects in Coral Gables proved to be valuable. Installation was handled according to plan and SRWD was very careful to minimize disruption to the household during the project. Workmanship was excellent. They removed and reinstalled the blinds on all windows without incident. One point about Jamie also worth noting was his communication during the project. He had great product knowledge, was very thorough with updates and responded very quickly to questions and requests. Our experience was positive and we highly recommend SRWD.

The people who performed the work were professionals. They provided very high quality workmanship and they were very good at their job. The work was completed in a very timely manner and was exactly what they promised. I recommend the quality of their work. It was a pleasure doing business with them. I will use them in the future.

After our first meeting with Jaime, we also visited Eco Windows one of the companies that he works with to view their product. We were impressed with the cleanliness and order of the factory and the quality of their windows so decided to go with them. We placed the order, gave Jaime a down payment and set up date in June for installation. Jaime took care of permitting. One surprise was that the windows were ready earlier than we wanted installation. Who know such a thing could happen? We ended up storing the windows for several days prior to installation. The installation itself was relatively painless. The installer Alex and an his assistant were prompt, worked steadily, cleaned up. They were focused on our job. It was very well organized. One bit of confusion was with the bathroom windows. We had ordered opaque glass and got clear. Jaime asked us to “trust” him (words which give me chills from contractors) but, we did. And he did make it all right. We were very appreciative of Jamie’s method of focusing on one job at a time. They did have to come back to replace the bathroom window glass several weeks after the initial installation, but again, that was a one trip, in and out, with clean-up experience. No hoping back and forth and dragging out the work. Also, Jamie returns calls and emails.

I had this company do some work for me before on another house so I was familiar with the quality of their work. This house is in Coral Gables and is on the historic list so once the contract was signed it took a while to get all the permits in order. It also involved getting architectural plans drawn up. Jamie organized all of this and then he and Alex came out and worked on measuring all the windows and doors accurately as they are all custom made for each job. The order took a few weeks to come through and then there was a bit of a wait since the company is very busy during the hurricane season and they want to finish each job completely before moving on to the next. Once they started at the house, they worked long hard hours in order to close in each section by the end of the day. As they worked they were constantly vacuuming to keep the dust at a minimum and they left things neat at the end of each day. The men were polite and friendly and they did a wonderful job. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. The only reason I gave them a B for punctuality was because of the wait between delivery of the windows and the start of the installation. It was unfortunate that one of the work teams lost their main person for a while because of illness in the family and that upset Jamie's schedule. It was also the hurricane season so the work was a bit backed up. It was however worth the wait as they did an excellent job and we are delighted with our new windows and doors!
