AAA Roofing

BUYERS BEWARE!!! Please search elsewhere for a roofing company to do your work. I have been fighting with AAA Roofing/Joseph Chewning, Manager since NOVEMBER, 2019 and it is now May, 2020 and still the fight continues. I wish I would have looked this company up on the BBB website as there are numerous others that have filed complaints against them. Please check this company on the BBB website and you'll understand why I am trying to help anyone who might be considering using AAA for your roofing job. Please look elsewhere for a better roofing company and to get the work done you pay a lot of money to have done the right and honest way!

My roof was replaced with great care. AAA Roofing treated me amazingly.

Work was started on July 8, 2019 and finally completed on October 10,2019. I say completed even though shingles on front side are still not straight in one area. AAA managements involvement in job was pathetic. The only time anyone came out was when they let water leak into bedroom ceiling requiring replacement of some drywall. Crew assigned for first 6 days had only 2 personnel for four days, 3 for one day and 4 for one day. Working hours were anywhere from 6 to 8 hours with hardly any clean up at end of day. Second week crew was 3 people one day and 2 people other two days. Ground clean up was okay but a bucket, broken open bag of clips and many nails were left on roof. Gutters were not cleaned and washed out per contract. Two men came out in September and did some minor repairs. Five man crew came in October, removed ridge vent and replaced several rows of shingles that were never installed in a straight line. One row of shingles is still not straight on front side of house. There comes a time when you have to just say **** with it and move on. As this was a reroof paid for by insurance due to hail damage, the check went to AAA prior to starting the work. It is difficult to hold a company accountable when they already have the money. My recommendation is do not use this company as from the owner on down, they do not care about quality or their own reputation!

The project went pretty well at the beginning. But about a month after completion, the new roof started leaking. Poor installation? After a couple phone calls, Jan came out and couldn't find the exact spot where it was leaking, but he applied some sealant where he thought it might be coming from. I guess he was lucky because it hasn't leaked since. It took two or three calls for AAA Roofing to send someone out to paint over the new stain in my kitchen ceiling, but that finally got done. Although the contract says they clean up nails in the yard with a magnet, they do a lousy job. My 12-year old grandson found 25 to 30 nails in about an hour of looking one afternoon, and my riding mower found another two more. I asked AAA four or five times to pay for repairing the tire, and each time I was told "Rufus will contact you." Forget that! Once Rufus has your money you'll never hear from him again. Bottom Line: They did an unsatisfactory job of installing the new roof resulting in another leak. They did an unsatisfactory job of cleaning up after their work. And they failed to take responsibility for damage caused by their poor cleanup work. There are many other reliable roofers in Citrus County. I recommend you use one of them instead of AAA.

It didn't go, it's 5 months and still waiting for an estimate or a release from their contract which was obtained by telling me it was a release for him to check out the roof. Their prices are over what the standard price seems to be, just in-case you are looking for a roofer. Read the small print and get several estimates.

What they did well was that they were in and out when it rained. They made sure that it was covered and that they were right here; and they stayed even in the rain to make sure everything was all set and that there wouldn’t be any damage. They have a crew that comes and does one thing and then another crew that does another thing. They have it down to a science, the way they put the roof on. Their cleanup was outstanding, there was no nails or anything like that left; and they tore the whole roof off.

The only holdup was Marion county inspector.

The project didnt begin until month past stated start date. Employees work times and dates sporaadic. No supervisor on site at any time during work. Company failed to return multiple phone calls. Roof began leaking into house through electrical outlets DURING replacement, AAA did not respond to calls about this and later feigned ignorance if the problem. Work materials were not cleaned up after, and a magnet wasn't used to pick up nails, resulting in a flat tire on our vehicle. Flashing was placed incorrectly in places, felt on roof was left exposed with significant tears that caused leakin into the home. I had to tarp the roof myself while waitin days for AAA crew to show up. In the end, some roofing shingles were placed short of the edge of the roof. When disputing the charges based on poor workmanship, management refused to communicate and instead placed a lien on the home for $1050.00, $250 more than the balance owed.

As far as I am conserned AAA was a miracle sent to me. While at the produce market I saw a sign laying on the ground for AAA. I called them while I was still in the parking lot. The owner came out that afternoon and gave me a great estimate and told me what he would do to fix it. He seemed to be the only roofer conserned about my situation. He said it would be about a week before he could get to me but sent an employee to put a tarp over the hole until he could get to me. It was less than a week when the crew showed up. They cleaned and replaced the rotted stuff and put a beautiful cover on my roof. It looks better than the rest of the roof. Within a week I was calling again about a leak in the back add on rooms. It was the same kind of problem and they repaired it the same way the next day and only charged me $600 since I had already been a customer. I cannot praise this company enough. I had called about every roofer that was listed. None were conserned about my situation. They did not want to waste time repairing my roof. They wanted to replace it for a price I could not afford. One estimate was $17,000 and said I would have to be worked into the schedule for a later date that could even be 2 months. No one was in a hurry to help me. Some did not call back with an estimate. Some never showed up for the appointment. One came out and gave me a good estimate but put me off for a couple months while the rain was coming in and causing black mold in my ceiling and warping my laminent floor. Like I said, I cannot praise AAA enough. I will sing their praises to anyone who needs a roofer. They were a miracle to me.

The job proceeded fine. 2 months after completion a leak occurred; I called and notified aaa twice with no response; after writing you the roof was repaired, when I called 1/19 (Kristin) she said someone would contact me; it's beenthree days and I'm still waiting...can you HELP!

In January 2013, AAA Roofing install a new roof at my home for $4,180.00. I selected the 30 Year Architectural Fiberglass/Fungus Mildew Resistant Shingles. The AAA contract reads it comes with a'Workmanship 10-year guarantee'. The very first time it rained (March 2013) one of the bathroom vents started to leak, staining the ceiling. After a week, an employee from AAA showed up with a tube of caulking to repair the leak. He assured me it was fixed. In June, during another storm, the other bathroom vent had a major leak, damaging the ceiling. After numerous phone calls and emails and no responses from Rutherford Miniard (owner), the same AAA employee showed up with several tubes of caulking. He and went up on the roof and said told me he caulk everything and there wouldn't be any more leaks. I told him that if I had any more leaks, I would call another roofing company and have them make any repairs to fix the problem. I recently discovered the bathroom vent that's been repaired twice has been leaking for quite some time. There is now major damage to the ceiling including black mold growing all around the damaged area. I called another roofing company who came out and discovered that the two, 1 1/2? bathroom vents and the one, 2? utility room vent were improperly installed. The 2 bathroom vents were nailed to the roof using 2 roofing nails and the utility room vent had 3 roofing nails holding it in place. There was no caulking on the roof or around the 3 vent covers. While the new roofers were up on the roof, I asked them to check the other vents and especially around the chimney pipe. When they lifted one shingle around the chimney, water came pouring off the roof. I have no idea where the water came from but was told, it's been leaking for some time. There are no visible water signs inside the house so I have no idea where the water has been gone. The roofers replaced the 3 roof vent covers and sealed the chimney with roofing tar. The total repairs came to $495 which I expect AAA Roofing to reimburse me. Each time there was a problem I called the office several times or sent emails - and got no response - ever. As of this date, no one has ever called me back or answered my emails. Twice, after a long delay, an employee just showed up and the last time, he raised h*** with me for complaining to the owner of AAA Roofing, Rutherford Miniard. I told the worker I would not be calling back if the roof ever leaked again. the roof has continued to leak in the same location that's been repaired at least twice so I hired another roofer to determine why the roof kept leaking and to fix the problem. AAA Roofing has been very irresponsible and I would highly recommend avoiding doing business with this questionable business.

I had leaks in the seams in my Electra roof panels on screen room. I assumed it would be a relatively small job. Estimator came out, didn't even go up on the roof. Gave me an estimate of $1,675 to cover the entire roof (42x12) with Peal and Seal. Before accepting the contract for this repair I wrote a letter to Rufus (owner) on 5/06/15, inquiring about the pricing on a prior repair job he did on my house about a year and a half ago. He didn't even have the courtesy to respond to my letter. I called another roofing contractor for an estimate and his price was 70% of what AAA's was. And as a bonus, he suggested a less expensive way to correct the leaks which only cost 35% of what AAA wanted to charge me, and is guaranteed for two years. I have used AAA twice in the past, but I believe they have gotten too big for their own (or the consumers) good.

The job was to fix what a previous roofer?s that dint solve the existing problem. AAA Estimator/Foreman told me that we needed a new skylight and repair the roof around the skylight. After the fix and several months later having the same problem to a larger extent, I complained to AAA. The same individual after several calls came and looked at the problem. He told me that he needed a longer ladder to investigate the problem better. After several more calls, he showed up with the longer ladder and determined that he didn?t know what caused the problem but he would have to come back the following day with some people. After he didn?t show up the next day I gave up on AAA and thought they should change their name to FFF.

It was amazingly good. Usually roofing companies are notorious for many things. I had a pretty good overall experience with them. If you have some specific questions they would be happy to answer them. They did a fairly extensive rough repair for a week around the dome around my house and up around the chimney. They had to remove very large stones around the chimney and re-flash that, replace the stone and put down some new metal in some areas that was metal rough. They did an outstanding job. The timeliness of the time I signed the work order and gave the deposit when they actually came out was a little long that was probably post 2 months but other that when they did come out they stayed pretty much on the job all the time. Cleaned up after themselves. No damage in the yard or anything. It was a good experience. They got a "B" on your Angie's list and mine was probably better than that. I had numerous other roofing companies to come out most of them were off Angie's list. Either they did not want to do it, couldn't do it, didn't call me back, said it would take too long. Lot of excuses there. I think I would give AAA an "A". Lot of people don't want to get into leak repairs and that is one of the motto's that AAA uses in their they say the leak buster is what they call themselves. They weren't deterred by the leak and the other thing was AAA was able to give me a 5 year leak warranty. Other people might do the work but give me like low warranty for 30 day or not more than a year. This was an intermittent leak and I had it repaired before and then a year and then it started leaking again and then I called the people back again and I was out of warrant. I was looking for a long warranty that is what I got from AAA. At the time I signed and gave the deposit when they finally got me in queue I did call a couple of times and talked to the scheduler and he was very nice. He was not hesitant about talking to me or anything. I would give them a "B" as far as punctuality.

AAA did an excellent job--and they had their work cut out for them! I had my old shingles replaced with an amazing metal roof. A lot of the plywood had to be replaced as well as some of the 2 X 4's. The roofers were done within a week and thoroughly cleaned up all the debris. I received quotes from several roofers in the area and AAA was the most reasonable. For example, their price included replacement of all plywood that needed to be replaced. Others would only allow for a certain amount and then charge extra if more was needed.

The were on time, professional, and they did it for the price they said they would. I gave them a B on price probably because I'm cheap, but I just hate to pay a guy $50 to look at something and sign a piece of paper, but, that's the going rate, so it was certainly fair.

My husband, a retired Contractor tried to fix this leak so many times without success. Called AAA Roofing and they came out gave us an estimate very quickly. We both felt the estimate was fair so we hired them. The were here in 2 days and fixed the leak. I believed this was over 2 years ago, maybe longer, but we have had no signs of leakage since.

Received quick reply to estimate request. Roofing crew were friendly and on time. They kept the yard clean while they worked and finished the project on time. Roof looks great.

With roofers it's really about which crew you get. The top 2 guys were very experienced and did a good job running the team

Responsive and gave a good price. I did have to follow up a couple of times to find out when the work was being done (and it has rained every day), but they did a good job.

The installation was hassle free from estimate to completion of the roof installation. The only additional work required was repair of some portion of aluminum on the flashing and under-eve aluminum in the porch area of the residence.

When removing the tar paper from my roof, they pulled the stucco off and never repaired or replaced it, which caused more damage for me down the road. I could not get them to come back out to fix this problem. I am currently investigating whether or not they are using low quality shingles. They are charging them at a very high price.

Talked to and hired Hise Roofing...was Pleased beyond my expectations.

7 years ago, AAA Roofing was hired to reroof our home. They came, they reroofed and it appeared satisfactory initially. Soon however we developed 2 leaks; one leak was around a large glass skylight in the kitchen, the other around the chimney in the living room. Numerous calls and visits from AAA Roofing followed; we never saw the same repair person twice. The leaks contined. Last year in 2011, we gave up on the kitchen leak and called Boulerice Roofing to come and repair the leak as well as the damage to the siding which had occurred. Boulerice did a wonderful job and there has not been a repeat of that leak. (In the meantime, it appeared that the chimney leak had finally been fixed and we had the living room ceiling redone). The leak reappeared and we once again (this was at least the 5th time) called AAA Roofing for this leak. They came and promised that it was now repaired for good; it was NOT. We called AAA again; they promised to have someone at the house on Monday. No one showed up. On Tuesday we called and talked to a Mr. Chewning who said we were scheduled for Wednesday. We told them not to bother coming, we would be again hiring Boulerice Roofing. 7 years was enough.

I would not hire them if they were the last roofers in the state!
