Precision Overhead Garage Door

Not well. 7/7/14 Technician arrived on time was very courteous and polite. Work was performed in the allotted time frame I was told it would take. Door worked which was great as the previous door was totally broken and did not work. However, the operation of the door was very noisy. At first I wasn't sure if I was expecting to much but after listening to other garage doors and having other people comment on the noisy operation of the door I called to company. They were very responsive and on 7/24/14 sent out a tech (the same one who initially installed the door). After 30 - 45 minutes of working on the door he indicated that he had done all that he knew to do, but that there was not any noticeable improve in the noisiness of the operation of the door. He asked if I would like to have a 2nd consultation by a more senior tech. I said that I would; I indicated that I was very disappointed in the noisy operation of the door considering the amount that I had paid for the door (paid extra for a quiet motor) it was not acceptable. I was not willing to put up with the noisiness for the next 20 years. The Tech indicated that I should be hearing from the office shortly to schedule the appointment. I never did receive a call from the office so I contacted them the next morning; as it was Friday the appointment was scheduled for Monday 7/28/14, 2 techs came out, 1 was a supervisor they worked on the door for approx. 1 hour and informed me that that was all the time allocated for a warranty call; some improvement had been made but they needed to do some more work. The supervisor indicated that he would personally contact me in the morning to schedule the appointment, he acknowledged that he was aware that the office was supposed to have called me but I had to call them. True to his word he called me the next morning, appt. was scheduled for 7/30/14. Techs arrived on time spent approximately 90 minutes working on the door and finally fixed the issues. After 4 visits; the initial install and 3 warranty calls things were finally as they should be. I was not impressed the the "Precision". I will say that all of the staff that I interacted with were very courteous and professional. I just had to interact with them way to often. 8/14/14 I just saw the response from the company and have to say that this is the first I'm hearing about that noise factor of an insulated door versus a non-insulated door. This was never mentioned during the process of buying the door and motor. Since I had indicated that I wanted as quiet a system as possible; which is why I purchased the quiet motor I assumed I was getting a quiet door as well. If the representative had explained this during the purchase process the issues outlined above would have never occurred. It was very disheartening to read that the "fix" is just temporary and that the noisiness of the door will return. I will be in contact with the company in regard to swapping out the door. 8/31/14 had door swapped out on 8/25/14. Everything is good so far. Therefore have changed the rating from "D" to "B".

Had to wait until our home was complete to schedule the installation; they were phenomenal with their patience and responsiveness when it was time to schedule the appointment. Carlos Morales was my technician and although he ended up being a few minutes late, he called me as he was leaving his previous appointment to let me know he was on his way. Carlos took his time explaining what I had already purchased as well as several "upgrades" available for my door. He was very knowledgeable, professional and not at all pushy, just giving me information and letting me decide. Carlos was meticulous in his installation as well as in explaining to me how to use my new system, even offering to program my vehicles for me. He also gave me some great insight into some issues my door had that I could get resolved under my new home warranty; items I definitely would have missed had he not pointed them out. Overall not sure I could ask for a better experience, highly recommend Carlos and Precision Overhead!

They were very good. They were very professional. They just installed it, did what they were doing and he talked to me about how to run it and if I needed any remotes for it, I could get that as well which I didn’t because I had some but I got to see if it still works but their professionalism was great. I would advise anyone if they are looking for a nice garage door, that they are good. I chose them for the reason that they have been in business for quite a long time and I trusted their work and the quality. The quality is very good.

They were very late on their first visit, but everything turned out well for the most part. The technician was nice and did a good job with the door's installation. I would advise others, however, to study up on permits and to make sure that all of the costs are included in the final quote.

They were out quickly, on a Sunday. They did a great job! I was very pleased with the services. He was very kind and personable, he even did extra steps to clean up. I would definitely use them in the future!

It turned out well! I purchased a little extra. He was a great guy; he was very nice and friendly. He was upfront with me and he went out of his way to help me. He explained in detail why I didn’t need the tune up because of the old mechanism. He told me the wheels were fine and installed a garage door opener. I would do it again and I would recommend them.

We purchased a Big Deal for replacing the door weather seal. After talking with the technician, we opted to replace the rollers and springs to make the door quiter and safer.

Now the doors run like new! I am pleased with the new brackets that reinforce the stress point on the door. In a previous home, the door was damaged in this area due to normal, repeated stresses. The nylon rollers installed were of a professional grade, a far better quality than the original rollers and quieter. Now you only hear the hum of the motor and some minor, normal chain rattling. Before the repair both doors were noisy and would not open in a power-outage. The doors bucked on opening, and sometimes would not open on the first try. Now they work perfectly. The company was very accommodating and promptly notified us of an earlier, available appointment. The tech, Carlos, was on time and very professional. The work is guaranteed and Carlos emphasized that they will return to correct any related issues. I would not hesitate to use the company again. Obviously, an excellent example of a well run business that serves the customer in the way you would expect.

Precision Overhead has serviced our garage door need several times in the past as well as recently. When called, a service rep was able to be dispatched the same day. The rep was very thorough and courteous.

Service went very well. Replaced rollers and main springs. Now door works like new. Great attention to details without constant supervision others have needed in the past.

They couldn’t do anything because the garage door was too old.

They're service was excellent, one person came out to get everything done and it only took him a few hours. He explained that we had an old system and was able to switch everything over to the new one, he even put in a security measure on the door to keep it closed if we're away. Alex B., our technician, cleaned up when he was finished, and simply put, was excellent.

After accidentally backing my car into my garage door as it was opening, my garage door would not close. I filled out the request for service form on Precision Garage Doors' website, I received a call within 15 minutes offering a service call within an hour and a half. The technician called 30 minutes prior to arrival, which was well within the two hour service window that I had been given. When he arrived, he looked at the door and determined that there were not many issues due to the hit, with the exception of one loose roller and a little bend on the bottom of the door. For safety purposes, I had him check the rest of the door and he suggested that I replace the rollers on both doors, which had not been replaced since we bought the house 4 years ago. He checked all of the belts and the chains on the doors and also noticed that we were not getting a great seal on our floor with the door due to the fact that the previous installer had installed a rubber foot shorter than the door. I was quoted a price and he got right to work. Within an hour, both doors had new rollers and rubber footing installed. They are moving smoother and sounding better than they did before! Very impressed with the professionalism and promptness of Precision Garage Doors' service today. Definitely made a stressful morning less stressful.

The service was fine. They made recommendations but did not push to sell anything. They did what I expected them to do.

I had used Precision Garage Door Services just under 2 years ago. The tune up service I purchased with Angie's List was actually covered as part of my warranty. The Tech Mike brought this to my attention (and my surprise). Mike was also the tech that performed the original repair and remembered me, again to my surprise. I am very impressed with Precision Garage Door and in particular their Tech Mike. I will be requesting him specifically for future service.

I contacted my home warranty company for repair to my garage door opener and they sent out a service technician. He showed up with no equipment to repair the problem and after two weeks, he's still not provided me with a "professional" estimate for service and repair. He did tell me that the springs were mismatched and needed to be replaced, but that was the extent of his 10 minute visit. I then contacted the company that originally installed the garage doors and opener. I asked them to come out and verify that the springs they installed were the right ones for my door. They said that because they didn't have any maintenance records on file that they couldn't do that. They furthermore stated in an e-mail (without even seeing my garage), that I probably had a non-reputable company come out and and install the wrong equipment. Obviously, I didn't ask them to even bother coming out. I called Precision while driving home on Friday afternoon and they came out at 8:30 the following morning. After a quick, thorough and professional assessment, the service technician (Mike) gave me the run-down on what needed to be done. He had all the parts needed and replaced the springs, rollers and motor. He was extremely courteous, professional and obviously cared about doing quality work. He also discovered that the springs that were originally installed with the door were indeed the wrong ones and were not rated for the door. And they were not mismatched as the other technician had stated.

I called Precision Overhead Garage Door Services the afternoon of July 11, The lady who answered the phone was very helpful and told me that a service technician would call later that day to come look at the problem. At 4:45pm I received a call from Carlos, telling me he was on his way. He arrived 15 minutes later. Carlos was very personable and knowledgeable, explaining what would need to be done to fix the issues. Fortunately, the garage door and motor are still in excellent shape. We discussed what he felt needed doing, and after getting my agreement, he started the work right away! I was very pleased with his work. I certainly will call this company for any other garage door issues that may crop up.

He straightened the sensors so that they were coordinated with each other and after testing that he noticed something else was wrong with the door and that it needed a small part replaced.....so he fixed that as well. Was here about 45 minutes and did a terrific job. Very pleased with the work and the company. Also, the response time was excellent and showed up exactly on time was told.

The estimate was given about one week prior to the job being started, the actual job went very well, the tecnician knew his business and was very polite at all times, even with the many questions I asked of him. All in all, we are extremely happy with the entire job. Now we have a garage door that will withstand 199 mph winds ... :-) and all we can hope for is that our home can withstand the same winds.

All work was performed as stated in the estimate and completed in a very professional manner. The Technician was very punctual, called 1/2 hr before arriving, and completed the job in the anticipated timeframe (3 hrs). Everything works perfectly and I would highly recommend this company.

These guys should sell used cars, they would fit right in. They were masters of the old bait-and-switch. I was not able to wait for the technician so my wife had to stay for the service call. Let me say that my wife is no wallflower. We have bought, rehabbed. and sold over 40 properties in 10 years. She can spray paint the inside of a 1200 sq ft house in 6 hours. But this guy intimidated her like no one else. Scaring her into believing dire consequences if she didn't buy the most expensive upgrades and telling her that the door motor is about ready to fail. Out of frustration she called me at my office saying that she had to choose between the three options presented to her - of course each one was more expensive than the last. We settled on the middle option. If you want to feel like you need to shower after dealing with these guys then go ahead and use them. Caveat Emptor - buyer beware.

The company was great to schedule the service call so quickly. The technician was very thorough with his evaluation of the condition of the garage door. He arrived on time and did an excellent job. I would call them again.
