"Mrs. [Member Name Removed] We are so sorry your furniture was damaged. As a small, local company, we truly care about our customers and their experiences with us. We go above and beyond to show you how important you are to us. Instead of you receiving a financial recovery of $135, based on the valuation of your items with Basic Value Protection. Liberty Moves paid $274.95 for your furniture to be repaired by a professional repairman. On the day of your move, you completed a Bill of Lading/Moving Contract and released your items to a value of $.60 per lb. per item. Instead of mentioning things to you about the contract or telling you how to proceed we hand the entire document to you for you to review. So, there can be no misunderstanding. If there were any questions you could have asked your crew leader or called our office at any time. The Bill of Lading states verbatim, in a section by itself, "Basic Value Protection. I release this shipment to value of 60 cents per pound per article. This lower level of protection is provided at no additional cost beyond the base rate. However, it provides only minimal protection that is considerably less than the average value of household goods." Regarding the item that cannot be repaired, you are requesting we pay over $800 for a dresser you released to a value of $90. That is almost 9x the coverage. We wish there was a policy available like you suggest, that covers replacement value, however, there is no such policy available. The Florida Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services is the governing agency for all household goods moving companies in the state of Florida. The DACS knows there is an inherent risk in moving household goods and sets policies to protect the shipper and the carrier. The DACS sets the $.60 per lb. rule that you critique. As a moving company we are the regulated, not the regulators. We wish you the best."

Our moving trucks always have tools, however, you requested us to come out to your home to move a few items within your home so we had a mover use their vehicle to come to help you instead of using one of our moving trucks. Your Consumer Comments you submitted with your information are as follows: (Consumer Comments: Need about 3 hours. Need insurance in case you scratch floors. Brand new wood. Relatively easy move. 3 beds, 3 nightstands, 1 dresser, 1 sectional, 2 dining rooms. Random chairs) To help you out with that two men were sent to your house and did exactly as you asked. There is no mention of any disassembly or reassembly in your information. We did all that we could with what we were given and hope you enjoy your newly renovated home. Thanks for letting us use your screwdriver."

"Ms. Stout, Thanks for the feedback. Please keep in mind we completed your entire move in 2 hours and 45 minutes and your total cost was less than $320. We made an additional stop on your behalf to pick up a bedroom suite. We also gave you a 10% Senior Citizen discount to help you out. The move was into a senior living facility with quite a bit of hallway travel. We moved as fast as possible to complete your move . In regards to the travel time from pickup location to delivery we drove straight from the origin to additional stop onto the destination. The travel time between your 3 locations per Google Maps is 35 minutes without any stops. We did not take 2.5 x 35 or an hour and 45 minutes to travel . A 26' moving truck does not accelerate, decelerate, maneuver etc. in a comparable manner to the vehicle you drive. We obey all traffic laws and drive with extra precaution to ensure your belongings are properly protected."
