I had some problems imperfections on my slate roof. The roof is 75 years old. Our home insurance dropped our policy saying our roof was " worn". We had a couple of roof companies that came to see it and all of them told us we had to re do the entire roof. Thats when I decided to join Angies List. I found Keith Roofing reading through the reviews. I called them right away. It was such a pleasure dealing with Mr. Keith and his son. Unlike the other companies, they repaired my slate roofing instead of trying to convince me to replace the entire thing. The best of it are the before and after pictures that they can show to you right at the spot. I am not a roof expert, so being able to see the pictures was a plus. A new home insurance company came to see the roof and the problem was gone! I will use Keith Roofing again and I highly recommended!

Very professional outfit, good experience. Hugh Keith Jr. was polite and responsive, took pictures of the work so i didn't have to go on the roof, job was done on time and for the price agreed to. deal includes lifetime credit for cost of the job if we ever need a new roof and we use this company.

They showed up on time as scheduled and completed the work efficiently. They came and did a good job with the work they completed. I did not have any problems with my roof after the work was completed. I was satisfied with their service. They were very knowledgable and helpful with recommendations.

He has done a really great job with following up and keeping me happy. He follows up and comes back promptly when needed. His service is excellent. He even called to ensure everything was okay after the work was performed. He has been a great asset.

I had just completed a major remodle and was low on cash, but Hugh did not pressure me at all, left pictures of the problem with the estimate, and told me to call him whenever I wished to proceed. One month later I called him up ready to go, and he had his crew out the very next day! Great service and very prompt. Halfway through tearing off the old roof, Hugh's team descovered that all the supports boards underneath were completely rotted out. They replaced everything with no questions. At the end of the day, I offered to pay extra since the rotting boards significantly added to the scope of work, but Keith stuck to his origional estimate. Great person and company to deal with.

It was an absolute pleasure doing business with Keith Roofing. Their representative, Hugh Keith, provided a detailed explanation of the work that was needed, and he gave me photos showing the problems that he identified. After I decided to have the work done, they promptly scheduled and completed the project. As soon as the work was done, Hugh sat down with me and went through a series of photos showing me step by step what was done, giving me confidence that the work was completed with care and expertise. Home repairs are often a trying experience, so I was delighted to have found a company that cares about customer service and the quality of their work.

.We talked by phone and Hugh explained in detail what would be done an answered my questions. We set an appointed date and time. Hugh and his crew arrived a little early and he called to let me know he was out front. We went over the contract and I explained an additional concern I had. They immediately started to work. While working on the roof, he found another problem area which he repaired at no additonal cost. After completing the job, he took pictures of the roof repairs. It looked great! Hugh was friendly, timely and professional. He did follow up with a telephone call to get feedback on the work based on the pictures. I liked the idea that he took before and after pictures so that I could see exactly what was done.

What looked like a simple job, as the flat roof on the addition of my house was torn up with obvious holes due to the removal of a large tree in our backyard, became something that required more in-depth dectective work. The holes were contributing to the the leak in the roof, but weren't the only cause as Keith Roofing and I soon found out. After patching what seemed clearly to be the problem, the roof kept leaking. Keith Roofing was back out immediately to take another look and try to determine what was happening. After the second try Hugh called to check in on the status - making sure that the problem had been solved. Unfortunately it hadn't. This is not a reflection however on the services of Keith Roofing. I could see what they were up against, and these leaks are hard to find. What really impressed me was how dedicated they were to solving my problem, no matter what it took, and without increasing the price we'd agreed to initially. Its easy to provide great service when things go smoothly, the true test is when things don't go as planned and Keith Roofing handled things beautifully. They are experts in what they do, as well as honest, committed to getting the job done right, focused on the client and will not leave you hanging. My roof is now tight as a drum and they are definitely the providers I will call the next time I need roofing help ( and in an old house, there is guaranteed to be a next time).

They were good. It was above average work. They did exactly what they said they were going to do and in a timely fashion.

They did a great job. They sent us pictures of the work, and were great with the follow up.

I though he was good. He was reasonably priced compared to others. He came out and did the work fairly quickly. The next day we had a rain and the roof leaked. I called him and he came out and repaired it and we have not had any problems since. I originally found him on Angie's List. He also took a lot of pictures of the roof so I could see what he was going to repair which I liked.

Mr. Keith had his team out to repair the roof within a few days of providing the estimate. The work was completed in one day and Mr. Keith provided photographs to document the roof. Mr. Keith also followed-up with a telephone to call to be sure everything is going ok. I think only time will tell whether the solution worked, but so far so good. I will definitely use this company again and recommend to my friends with similar roofs.

Overall Keith & Company did an excellent job in repairing my roof and they even saved my husband and I some money. Last night 1/30/2013 we had alot of rain in the DC area, I checked the rooms that had been leaking and I saw no signs of leaking. And they even gave us a 2 year warranty.

The day after Christmas 2012 was a rainy day. All of sudden, my roof started to leak into our guest bedroom. We looked on Angie's List and called a couple of companies. Keith came over to give a quote. He was 1 of the 2 companies that actually came out the day after the holiday. He was slightly higher than the others but his approach made sense and put our minds at ease.

I'm quite happy with how it went. Reading the other reviews, it sounds like I had a common problem. The area around my flu vent(s) was leaking as the sealant had degraded and cracked over the years. I have a metal roof on a circa 1900 townhouse in Capitol Hill. In terms of professionalism, they were excellent. They were quick to return my call & to schedule a date for the work, and they were polite and patient in explaining things to me. They did the work all in one day. I particularly liked how they documented the whole process with pictures from start to finish, as I wasn't going to go up on the roof myself.

Roofer did not call to make an appointment to provide an estimate, so it did not go well.

They were the only company who would show up to do an emergency repair. They showed up after I had to call to confirm in mid afternoon ....i'm glad I did insist on being home while they did it. I'm glad I mentioned I was an angies list member. At first the crew was only going to replace the metal flap. I had to show the crew the written estimate which clearly said "replace plywood, install tar paper, install new roof tile) and talk with the owner before they agreed to replace the plywood, put down tar paper and then put on shingles....which were left over from another job and they had to paint black (they were yellowish roof shingles). The ONLY reasons I agreed to the work was because 1) it was on an area of the roof no one will ever see and 2) it was going to be torrential rain. Be careful using this company....I won't use them again.

Very timely and responsive to request for estimate and request for service. Extremely responsive and provided updates throughout the day regarding the repairs.

Mr. Keith provided a very detailed estimate, complete with photos, and followed up with a phone call. It took me several weeks to respond, but once I did decide to go with their services I was able to schedule a date for the work right away. The job took one day. The team arrived when they said they would, and worked hard the whole time. I'm very pleased with the result. Though the estimate was the middle of the three that I got, I went with Keith because of detail provided in the estimate and Mr. Keith's responsiveness to my questions and concerns. I am very happy with the result.

Mr. Keith was very responsive. He called me back within 24 hours of my initial phone call. When he stopped by to provide us with an estimate of the work, he was punctual. He is a very pleasant man and has been in the roofing business for 50 years. He took pictures of the roof and provided a sound explanation for the leaky roof. He recommended that we also solicit other roofers for their estimates before deciding on which service to hire. Once we decided to go with him, he was able to squeeze us into his schedule. I called him on Wednesday (21 Nov) before Thanksgiving. He repaired our roof on 26 Nov. Our appointment was at 0830. He arrived 10 minutes before the appointment (a plus). His crew consisted of three workers, his son, and Mr. Keith. Mr. Keith and his son supervised the work. They took pictures throughout the stages of the repair, showed them to me, and explained them as the work progressed. After the work was done, his crew cleaned up the debris that fell from the roof. They completed the work at approximately 1 PM. It rained the following day. Although not a torrential storm, the buckets that we left to catch the leaks remained dry -- a positive sign. Mr. Keith called us the following day, 27 Nov 2012, to follow-up. So far so good.... My husband and I felt that Mr. Keith is an honest person with a solid experience on roofing, which were the reasons for our selection of his company. He is responsive, punctual, and professional, and his crew was competent. Most importantly, he provided an exceptional customer service which we appreciate.

We had water dribbling into our master bedroom during a rainstorm in July, and needed the leaking controlled and then the problem fixed for the long term. We noticed the leaking on a Thursday night, and then I called Keith Roofing for an estimate early the next morning. They had a crew at my house within a couple of hours, and shortly after had an estimate and told they could take care of it all that very day. More rain was on its way in the next day, so it sure was appreciated! Our roof had been done improperly by the construction company that renovated our house before we bought it, and Keith Roofing was really good about taking lots of pictures and showing us exactly where and what the problems were (seams opening up everywhere long our flashing with the neighbor). We have a row house in Capitol Hill that has a difficult-to-access roof that is three stories up, so this was really appreciated. A few hours later, our roof was fixed. The rain came the next day, and there was no more water. And then, just a couple weeks ago, when Hurricane Sandy hit the area, we got really nervous about our roof again. There wasn't a drop of water. These guys do very solid work, and they're very professional. I felt like the price tag was a little steep ($2500 to fix about 1/3 the roof), but I was happy to pay it given how fast they were and the emergency conditions. These guys will be first on my list for any future roofing needs. But since they did such a good job, I suspect it won't be for many years.

I sing their praises to everyone I know. Keith Roofing was recommended to me by a colleague, and I liked their reviews on Angie's List, so I called for an estimate. They are terrific! They fixed a couple of cracks in my roof over a year ago, providing clear explanations of the issues they found, how they intended to fix it, and even before/after photos to show me what they had done. Mr. Keith is incredibly nice and answered my questions and gave me useful information about the style of roof on my house. Since then, I have had two minor leaks, including one during Hurricane Sandy, and both times Keith Roofing has come by promptly and made minor repairs at no additional charge. In fact, Mr. Keith returned my call while the hurricane was still passing through DC. They are prompt, professional, friendly, and thorough. They do not try to push unnecessary items or services, unlike some of the companies from whom I requested estimates, and they take their work seriously and want you to be satisfied. I recommend them extremely highly.

They arrived on time, began work immediately and consulted me several times during the process. When they were nearly done, they allowed me to go up the ladder to my roof and look at the work and explain the type of window they are installing. They also removed all the debris from the repair work. Patches were done to cover a large area on each side of a crack, flashings were done with two layers of rubber roofing material. They also helped in removing a satelitte dish and associated wires that were out of use.

The leak in my back bedroom started during Hurricane Sandy. I called Keith Roofing and as I expected, it was going to take some time for them to get to me given the storm and the number of calls they'd received. I could have called another roofer, but I've been working with Mr. Keith and his crew since I moved in 3 years ago, and their work is excellent. Mr. Keith eventually made it out to my house and was able to quickly find the problem. Apparently, some of the original roofing material had pulled away from the roof - this was work done by whoever renovated my house before I bought it, and like everything else in the house (as I've discovered over 3 years), the work was substandard. Mr. Keith found the issue and sealed the gap properly. I've never had a problem come back after Keith Roofing has fixed it. I've always felt confident in the work and in Mr. Keith's expertise and professionalism. When you find a great doctor, you don't trust your health with anyone else. When you find a great mechanic, you don't bring your car anywhere else. When I found Keith Roofing, I realized there would never be a reason for me to call anyone else. I have and will continue to recommend them without pause to anyone who wants an honest, professional and expert roofing company that appreciates customer relationships and values their customers and the quality of their work above all else.

If you own a roof in DC, use Keith roofing. I live in a historic rowhome on Capitol Hill and hired Keith roofing to replace the old metal flat roof with a new bitumen roof system. After fielding numerous quotes and dealing with many contractors, Keith Roofing was by far the most professional and trustworthy company I could find. Hugh and his father are punctual, courteous, professional and incredibly thorough. I'm a bit of a nosy homeowner when it comes to work being done on my house and Hugh had no issues showing me every step of the process and keeping me abreast of all work with pictures and phone calls. The roof performed magnificently through Hurricane Sandy. The only issue I had was a tiny pin hole leak in the skylight which Hugh came out immediately after the storm to fix. I am 100% confident in my roof, the craftsmanship behind it and the integrity of Keith Roofing. I will use them for any roof project I have in the future - I recommend you do the same.
