John Seward General Contractor

Like most of my other projects, I started with Angie's List. I selected John Seward for my carport project as his approach and price worked well for me. We made some changes prior to him starting, which was very easy to do. I couldn't be happier with the work that was done. He and his crew were meticulous in their approach. When he would tell me that his crew would be here, they showed up. He kept me informed of every aspect. In total, it was no more than 5 days here. Even during the construction, the area was kept neat and orderly. At the end of the day, other than the progress on the carport, you almost couldn't tell that construction was going on. They kept the whole area immaculate. Not even random nails or screws left around and barely any sawdust. It's not often that i have experienced a contractor who has been so diligent in communication and real follow-up. I'm working remotely from the back of the house, closest to the construction, and I hardly noticed that they were back there working. Terrific experience and when I have my next project needed a contractor, I will be calling John first. I already gave his name to my neighbor across the back alley.

I have used John for both large and smaller repairs/renovations over 10 years. I am very demanding and John has never disappointed me. His prices are fair, the work generally excellent, and he has always been responsive. John is very knowledge on a wide range of matter, and clearly conveys and discussed options. I am able to depend on John, and do rely on him to do work on a rental and my residence. Based on my experience I would not hesitate to recommend him.

The work went well. John was friendly, skilled and extremely knowledgeable. He immediately explained that while our house was stucco, when the new edition went on many years ago, apparently for cost savings, instead of stucco the exterior of the edition was covered with dryvit, a substitute for stucco. John told us that dryvit worked fine if installed with proper flashing. Ours had not been and he pointed out joints where water could get in, especially with certain wind conditions. He also said that we should remove a section of the dryvit to see if there was any wood rotting as a result of the moisture. We did everything that John suggested and we could clearly see the moisture and some rotted wood which John easily replaced. Fortunately our problem was not terribly extensive. John installed the necessary flashing and replaced the dryvit. We have had no water in our basement since that time. John"s price was fair, he solved our problem and taught us a great deal about our house along with it. I have placed John's number on my cell phone and I have hired him again when we remodeled our kitchen and bathroom and reconfigured our garage and storage areas.

He was terrific, his workers are lovely, it's a complicated project but the quality of the work was excellent, I really like them and I highly recommend them.

Excellent. John and his crew were prompt, professional, and priced very fairly. John and his crew remodeled one bathroom, built two more from scratch, moved and remodeled a kitchen, completely overhauled our HVAC, installed skylights, and repointed the entire exterior of our house. He did such a good job that we brought him back to do a full house exterior re-painting and also a large custom built in bookcase project. We've also recommended him to neighbors, who have been very happy with his work.

John has been a lifesaver on many occasions! He has been able to correctly identify and economically troubleshoot so many major issues for me that other more well-know companies were unable to resolve. I had purchased a poorly-flipped home and he was able to unravel *countless* issues I came across. He and his people also work with a high level of integrity and thoughtfulness and is available to clearly explain any questions you might have. John was able to quickly schedule major basement drainage work around my tenant’s schedule which was wonderful! John also built a large beautiful second floor deck that we enjoyed for years and became a major selling point. I would absolutely recommend him to do any sort of work!
