My Toyota Sienna 2013 needed alignment because I hit the curve and had minor damage on the rim. I purchased and replaced the rim and the Sienna was pulling to the left. I brought the van to the shop yesterday, after reading the review from Angies list. Angies list graded this provider with "A." I was disappointed because the dishonesty of the provider.
They checked out the alignment and told me the passenger front side was +0.44 out of alignment and too much to align, I need to replace the front arm or the rod or the joint ( I am not a mechanic but the picture of the parts show it will cost a lot of money to replace them.) Front desk person said he will start to replace the arm ( big metal piece, underneath of the engine) and see which one damage, visually he did not see the damage.)
He asked me if I agree for them to proceed with the work.
I asked give me the written estimate and I will decide. I think the big arm is only damage if the car was involve in major accident. in my case I skidded the snow and hit the curve, the aluminum wheel chipped, but the tire was not damaged why the main arm is damage?
He did not give me the cost estimate and discussed with the mechanic and finally said, he could try the best to align and see if the toe can be in spec.
After the alignment, all 4 wheels were in spec. the cost was $82 plus tax as we agreed before.
CONCLUSIONS:
1 - The Roadmaster Auto & Tire Service tried to make money If I have agreed for them to start replacing parts, while they probably knew nothing wrong with the parts.
2 - He told me the +0.44 is too much to align, but that was not true.
3 - I am new to the area, I want to find an honest shop that I can come back, but so far The Roadmaster is failed. I can't not use the dishonest place like this and suggest everybody to look out. I have another vehicle which needs work, I had an appointment today with the provider, but I will not come because I can't trust them anymore.
4 - I am disappointed to the grading of the Angies list. But it was my fault, now I need to read all reviews more carefully, not just the grading "A" of the Angies list

The prices are WAY lower than the dealership and they only do the work that is needed. No pressure to upgrade to a "Gold plan" etc. that other dealers always seem to push.
They complete the jobs on time as promised. David Peters the store manager is always helpful and can be counted to do an exceptional job.
"We are new to Angie's list as we joined today (April 25, 2011). This is the first we have heard of this comment. We would love to respond to the member's concerns but we do not have a record of this transaction in our database. As her issue is over 6 years old we may have deleted her file from our system, or she may have posted this on our company file in error. If the member receives this reply, please give me a call and I will try to address your concerns. We will do what we can to clarify what was done and answer any questions you may have. As we do not have a record on file, hopefully we can use whatever records you have to shed some light on this situation. I will help however I can. Thanks, Todd Gerlings, President"
