This business is shockingly well run. The initial appointment was quick and to the point. Malia got a sense of what I was looking for and provided me with samples that fit my taste perfectly. We settled on something and she phoned in the order then and there. Her pricing was more than reasonable....it was competitive with me buying something at Lowe's and trying to install it myself. We got the shipment in quickly and her installer, MIke (who is so friendly and so competent) put the blinds up quickly. We realized there was a slight glitch that was nobody's fault...it's more a construction issue with the house. Mike sent a quick text to Malia who called and told me it would be worked out quickly and verified that I was ok with the solution in place while we waited for replacements (I was, it was perfectly functional and fine). She also told me not to send payment until the job was done to my satisfaction. They pulled in the new parts on schedule and Mike came out to quickly rectify the issue and get the blinds perfectly set. I love them. Frankly, I think the measure of a business is how they deal with unforseen problems. This one handles themselves with an emphasis on customer satisfaction. Don't hesitate. Call Malia.

CO Custom Blinds & Shutters owner, Malia, responded within a day to my inquiry about receiving a quote. When she came out, she brought samples (without overwhelming us!), offered recommendations on fabric color and options for pleat size. She measured windows and two sliding patio doors and provided a quote within 24 hours. Upon our agreement to place order, we made a deposit (half the order costs). Malia kept us apprised of our order and scheduled installer, Mike (who was also terrific!) to come out install. Our order was split in two and Malia kept us up to date on the second order and scheduled install as soon as she received shipping confirmation. Once we had Mike back to install blinds, we sent her a check for final payment. Shortly thereafter, we noticed that one of the blinds was not going down all the way. Malia recommended we try up/down at least three times to try to fix it, when they did not work she ordered replacement shades for that large window. Again, she kept us apprised of delivery. In addition, she did not deposit our final payment until the blinds were received and installed. I note this because it speaks to her professionalism and integrity. Our window treatments are stunning. We are very pleased with the quality and excellent service we received from CO Custom Blinds & Shutters. We would highly recommend.

Terrific. Malia spent plenty of time working out details to install the shades. There was an issue she resolved with the manufacturer on how to allow for a tight fit in the corner. She made some recommendations with the cords that made the blinds more uniform throughout the room. Malia was punctual and always responded to my requests via email or phone quickly. Prices are very competitive and she offered a discount without my asking. Malia is extremely knowledgeable about shades an assured me that these blinds would look great in my room. Subsequently, I recommended her to my friend who also purchsed blinds from her company. She is truly a professional!

Malia made the purchase decision easy ... brought samples, offered sound advice and measured everything. She was also very good about keeping me informed about where we were in the manufacturing process and when to anticipate delivery/installation. The installer, Mike, was amazing ... fast and efficient. And really good about cleaning up after himself. The entire process was simple and less expensive than if I had bought the same shutters from a heavily advertised national provider and wrestled with installing them myself.

We purchased 13 new shades from Malia. We wanted a mid-grade honeycomb shade with top down/bottom up function and wanted to eliminate cords. Malia came out the same day that I called her and was so professional and responsive that we placed the order that day. We elected after the fact to add a couple additional shades and that seemed to cause a delay. It took a while to get the install scheduled, with a partner company. We removed the existing shades and all hardware. The install was seamless and as it turned out, the install delay ended up being to our benefit. We had some recent construction work completed in our home and the drywall dust permeated everything. The drywall contractor had to come back to repair several areas and had the shades been installed as originally expected, we would have had to cover them all. So far - so good with the shades. They look nice and are all working well. The install took less than 45 minutes and was seamless. I would highly recommend Colorado Custom Blinds. Malia has all levels of shades, blinds and wood shutters and she worked within our desire to stay with average quality and didn't try to upsell. She had good input with color selections and great ideas. I will use this company again.

We contacted Malia regarding some warranty follow up for a couple of wood blind slats that had a slight curvature to them, and to order some additional blinds for two windows in our entryway that we decided not to cover in our last order. As with our first experience, Malia made everything extremely easy, cared for the warranty work quickly, helped with discounts on the new blinds and the installation was flawless. Punctual, professional, very easy to work with and just a really nice lady! We really appreciate the work and love how the new blinds look!

The supplier indicated a ship date for the blinds that was a little longer than expected. Malia was a great advocate and persisted with the supplier to get the blinds in sooner than later. I was pleasantly surprised when Malia contacted me to let me know that she was successful in getting the blinds shipped earlier than expected. We had Malia come out and bring samples of Roman Shades for 3 of our windows that needed new covering after a remodel. She was prompt with handling all the email correspondence. She showed up on time with the requested materials. She also brought us a less expensive alternative that we had not considered. It cost almost 1/2 the cost and looks just as nice plus is energy efficient. After ordering, she keep us informed when the shades would arrive which was within 11 days of the order. Her prices included free installation. Her installer, sorry I can't remember his name, was friendly, fast, and effective. The shades look great and our overall experience was wonderful! We would definitely recommend Colorado Custom Blinds Shades and Shutters to anyone!

She came right on time Monday morning and replaced the loop cord herself quickly with no problems THEN she helped reset a problematic remote control on a shade she did not sell to us - this was up on a ladder at the 2nd story entry window while on the phone with the manufacturer. It is fixed with no charge to us! WOW - an excellent business!

Professional, quick, efficient, friendly-great!

Within a day of my call to her company, Malia arrived at my home that was under construction, measured every window and then discussed all kinds of ways to add options and/or save money. Her ideas on where to use more upscale top down bottom up blinds, blackout blinds, higher insulating blinds, remote blinds and the value of retractable cords and where to use less expensive versions of Hunter Douglas blinds were priceless. She informed me that ordering the blinds in a timely manner would allow me to qualify for a Hunter Douglas refund of $350. The blinds arrived at her company, Colorado Custom Blinds (719-313-3141) and she was very understanding in keeping them in storage for weeks until all the painting and window cleaning had been completed even though I still owed her 50% of the bill! Mike Skufca installed the blinds and boy was he excellent. Very professional and pleasant! He was cautious not to scrape our newly stained hardwood floors and did the job very quickly! I highly recommend Malia Alstrom and Colorado Custom Blinds!!

Everything went wonderfully. Absolutely satisfied with the service, installation, and the products. It all fit perfectly and even though we had to order from two separate companies, they all matched extremely well. Nothing but good things to say.

Malia made the window coverings part of our rebuild pleasant and encouraging. She went above and beyond to work with our difficult circumstances and made it work for us. The blinds look great and definitely smooth out the temperature fluctuations we would otherwise have in our variable climate, thus saving us money on our heating bills.

Due to the size of one of my widows the delivery time was extended. Malia solved that by making the delivery overnight without any additional charge. She scheduled the installer to be at my house the next morning after delivery. The very reasonably priced installer did a fantastic job and quickly. Once installed, one of the blinds was a bit sort due to structure of the window. Malia ordered a new valance to make the window perfect!!! Malia came and replaced the valance and was always a joy to work with and have on my home.

I want to commend Malia Alstrom of Colorado Custom Blinds, Shades and Shutters for her exemplary professionalism, excellent product and service, her cooperation, expertise and kindness! Our home was damaged in the Waldo Canyon fires. There was much damage to our home including the loss of our windows. I placed the order for new window treatments shortly after I hired the contractor to fix our home. Malia of Colorado Custom Blinds, Shades and Shutters, came to my home, measured all the windows and offered decorating suggestio which turned out to be fabulous! Unfortunately, the general contractor turned out to be extremely incompetent and it took more than two years to have our windows replaced correctly. Malia held the ordered and completed window treatments at her facility the entire time until I was able to finalize the correct installation of our windows. Malia and her company were so kind and patient that it was an absolute pleasure and relief to deal with such an extraordinary organization. My window treatments are beautiful and certainly worth the wait!!! Once again, I want to thank Malia and her firm for all of their professionalism, service, kindness, patience and beautiful work!!!

Great service from beginning to end. Malia set up the initial consultation quickly, came out, took her time to go over the products and offer professional advice. She kept me well informed of the dates the products would be in. The installer she used was also very professional. Installed multipled window treatments. Prefer not to list price but she was very reasonable.

We recently rebuilt our Black Forest home with an outstanding custom home builder, and I thought I had met the most proficient suppliers in the industry . . . until I discovered Colorado Custom Blinds. Malia takes professionalism and service to a whole new level. During her consultation visit, she provided expert advice about what blinds or shutters to choose, leaving the ?Brand X? sales rep who had come the day before in the dust. (Her prices were considerably better, too!) She kept us apprised of the status of our order and got it installed in no time. When she came out to inspect, she found a tiny, imperceptible flaw in one shade (which I never would have noticed myself and certainly wouldn?t have minded) and called the manufacturer immediately to order a replacement at no cost to us. When I protested, insisting that we were fine with what we had, she insisted. ?I?m a perfectionist,? she said, ?and my standard is ?Would I settle for it in my own house??.? Malia was very responsive to my phone calls, promptly arrived for our appointment, and offered her expertise in suggesting motorized blinds that would solve my problem. Her quote was considerably less expensive than that offered by another person for the same product. All blinds arrived in a timely fashion and were installed by an equally qualified professional. I would not hesitate to use Colorado Custom Blinds again. They are a class act!

I called Malia Alstrom,Owner of Colorado Custom Blinds in mid July. I was able to schedule an appointment that same week on Sunday. She schedules appointments on the weekends which is awesome. Upon her arrival and talking for a few minutes my husband and I felt very comfortable with her. We gave the tour of our home and showed her all the window blinds we wanted to replace and told her what kind of blind we wanted. She discussed the pros and cons of types of blinds with us. She helped us pick out a color for the blinds that would match the color of paint we were painting the whole interior. The best suggestion to us was to get the top down-bottom up blinds. We love the versatility of that feature. She Emailed the cost estimate to us the next day and we promptly committed to the purchase. We were informed when the order was placed and when the order would leave manufacturing. We were informed when the order arrived and that within a week we would receive a phone call from her installer to schedule a date for installation. My husband was home during the install and he said the gentleman was very conscientious of his work and very professional. Malia is very competent and professional in what she does. I personally can take forever making choices but with Malia sharing her knowledge and expertise she made this experience so relaxing and with no buyers remorse. My husband and I appreciate her sincerity and honesty. We definitely recommend this company.

Excellent service, price and selection.

From start to finish, Malia and her team were extremely courteous and professional! We contacted Malia after seeing her ratings on Angie's List, and subsequent to being ripped off by another local blind vendor. After our previous experience, we were more than hesitant to start writing checks again, but Malia quickly earned our trust through courtesy and respect - she was willing to work through our concerns with us and was extremely flexible with our deposit, considering the circumstances. Malia took measurements of every window in our home that needed to be addressed (while another vendor measured only some windows to give us "an idea" of the final cost), and gave us all of our options, from less expensive faux to higher end wood and motorized blinds. She never tried to up-sell her product, but readily provided answers to our email questions as we deliberated on the final choices. She provided a spreadsheet through email where we could essentially "plug and play" our various options by floor/blind type to get a final cost - really helpful! We wound up going with higher end product than we had initially sought out, but it was entirely our choice as we gathered more information from Malia about various products. Once our decision was made, the orders were placed and we received very timely updates on our products and their ship/estimated arrival dates. Once the products were received, we got a call from one of Malia's team members to schedule an appointment - she was also extremely courteous and professional, and was very flexible with our schedule conflicts regarding the installation. My wife and I travel quite a bit on business, and we had a relatively tight window for the installation - not a problem, they adjusted the start time for us and assured us that they would complete the work prior to when we needed to leave. On the install date, Mike arrived right on time with all of the product and tools necessary to complete the work, and did a fantastic job! Again, courtesy and professionalism throughout his time in our home. When I thought that one blind might be slightly off, he quickly went right back to it and leveled it out perfectly. He completed the job in less time than scheduled and completely cleaned up after himself when he finished. Our blinds look absolutely fantastic and we couldn't be happier with the service we received from Colorado Custom Blinds, Shades & Shutters! Highly recommended!

Malia returned my call while she was on vacation and came out to my house on a sunday to accommodate my schedule. My ceilings are quite high and she had no problem climbing up our "ladder of death" to get the proper measurements for our sky lights. After installation, we had a few issues, but Malia quickly took care of the problems reinforcing her philosophy of Great Customer Service. I would use her again for all my window covering needs. "
