Closet World - Whittier

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!!! We had a designer come out to take measurements and she was so lovely, I really liked her. Unfortunately she did not listen to my husband when he told her what closet depth we wanted and we did not check her work.... it never occurred to us that A. she would not listen and B. that she would not use the entire space we had available for the closet. Pan to 2 weeks later when my husband finished preparing the space (he had surgery so couldn't do the work right away) and we looked at the plans only to discover the discrepancy of over 4 inches!!!! I contacted her straight away (at this point the install was 2 days away) and told her what happened. She said there was nothing she could do and I would have to speak to a manager. After 6 calls and messages he finally got back to me to tell me that there was absolutely nothing that he could do for me since the pieces were already cut. I am a repeat customer and was willing to pay for the difference in price for the correct measurement. He said there was nothing that could be done and that they would keep our deposit of $1023.00 and that I could find someone else to work with. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I wish I had read the reviews on this company before deciding to hire them again because they really and truly do not care about their reputation or their customers.

Consumers beware. First and last warning. They tell you and show you pictures of what you will get. After final install. It’s not even what you signed up for based on their recommendations and suggestions. ALL LIES. After they take your deposit and final payment to complete the work. NO CUSTOMER service at all. We had design consultant recommend and show pics of gold rods. We receive silver rods and the closet doesn’t even meet the measurements. The installer was very nice and had to come back to chop our design on the entry way of our new closet. When we notified the manager (Alex) on duty the situation and the rods were not correct. He’s response was “well, you sign the contract so it’s your fault”. He told us he would contact the young lady that gave us the original quote and showed us the gold rods on her phone. He never return our call after 2 weeks now. Wow. To simply just get it right and change the rods to the correct color. After we paid $3800. This is what we get. Terrible customer service and not the closet we signed up for. This company should really look into sending their so called leaders to some training. Highly suggest you go elsewhere for closets. Maybe spend the time and learn on YouTube and grab some ikea closets you assemble yourself. Stay far away from this company and this location. They will LIE to you and show you the wrong items so you think you are getting what they show you. In reality, it’s not. Buyers beware. Save your money. Go elsewhere. And if you speak with a Alex (Manager), RUN…

If your considering Closet World, don't do it!! Install was completed 6/11 and it took 8 days of daily calling to get Roman Espinoza on the phone. Install team removed the base board in the area that the closet goes, left nails in the walls. the closet doesn't meet the wall so there are gaps all around. The rail that holds the door doesn't meet the wall. NO FINISH WORK AT ALL. The 5 foot wide, 2 foot deep and 81/2 foot tall closet that the "professionals" installed look terrible, I was assured by the sales person that this is not MDF board, It is, $3400.00, I could have spent half that at IKEA and I would have the same thing. I sent pictures no one responds and Roman, he could care less. CLOSET WORLD IS JUST ANOTHER NAME FOR IKEA

VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!! They promised to show up and complete the job in 3 days, and this is NOT what happened. We told them we had a schedule to keep due to other work being done in the house, which required them to finish on time. We even set up our schedule based upon their guarantee completion date. Plus, they were rude and disrespectful. Here is what happend... 3 Day project turns into a disaster... Beginning of June the project begins...I called Closet World and was appreciative of the timely response I received from the sales representative, Pedram. He was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I was not happy with the fact that I had to wait over 1 month for an installation date, even though the manager said they would "red flag" my order to see if they have an earlier time. Then came the delivery. They told me that it would take 3 day to install. This is understandable considering the size of the project. What I did understand is why the guys showed up around 12pm on the first day and basically dropped off 30% of the material and left at around 3:30. Day 2: They showed up around 10:30 and told me they would be completed with all the closets upstairs. They only did 4 of six and again left around 4pm. Friday, day 3: I expected for them to come early and finish. They had 2 more closets, laundry room and pantry. NO, they didn't come until around 1pm. Installer (who is friendly) tells me he had two other projects in the morning and that's why he was late. I called the manager who PROMISED me they would not leave until the job was finished or they would come on the weekend. No such luck. They left around 5pm, but still laundry room and pantry materials not delivered and therefore not installed. How can they finish is they don't have materials. Comes Monday (Day 6)... I would expect someone at the house early and working. NO AGAIN. Called the supervisor at 8:30am, not available. Spoke to his supervising manager (ROMAN) who was rude and disrespectful. Said that I had a "tantrum" because I would not accept the fact that they were not coming until Tuesday. I couldn't believe that he would use that word when dealing with a costumer. I then asked for Roman's supervisor (ALEX) and only got a voicemail. We'll see if he calls back. Fast-forward an hour - the installation supervisor (Norman I think is his name) calls me at 9:30am. Apologizes for the issues that I'm having (and for his bosses lack of professionalism) and tells me he just got back and has been out of the office the past week. He said he will try to rectify the situation but still no one is coming Monday. Very disappointing, especially since this has been a concern since last week and he could have had someone come in the afternoon to complete the project. I have been out over $700 due to this delay.

BUYERS BEWARE!!!!! CLOSET WORLD IS NOT HONEST!!!!! There is a HUGE disconnect between the interior designer and installation. Once you purchase there system say good bye to your interior designer, you will NEVER get a call back if there's a problem. Problem #1- When meeting with the designer she will show you a small cabinet with a beautiful soft close drawer. THEY WILL NOT INSTALL ANYTHING CLOSE TO THAT!!!! TOTAL TRICK!!!! Problem #2 - The designer will tell you all you'll have to do is paint the side walls of your closet WHEN IN REALITY THEY WILL LITERALLY LEAVE HOLES IN THE BACK OF YOUR CLOSET from removing the old rods. You will be left to make it look decent. Problem #3- Designer will tell you there is some room for negotiation. So, when you negotiate price unbeknownst to you, you will get a different system NOT THE ONE YOU THINK YOU'RE NEGOTIATING. I paid close to $6,000.00 for 3 small closets and I couldn't be more disappointed!!! My advice to anyone looking to organize your closets ***USE ANOTHER COMPANY***** FYI- Before I posted this I spoke with the man in charge Steven. Let's just say customer service is lacking big time!!! The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because the installers were kind.

It went well. Made a call got an designer in the next week to set up my appointment and discuss what I had in mind. Installers were nice and easy to work with.

Terrible, stay away from them

There were some issues with the installation. Either the designer or the store didn't measure correctly. Two closets couldn't be finished during the visit and they had to come back twice. They cancelled five minutes before they were to arrive. The first installer wasn't customer service oriented or respectful. The last installer was very professional. Beware you never receive a call back from the designer or Closet World to see how the install went. Closet World has been in business for years, you would think by now they would have their act together. I like their product it holds up, but their customer service is practically non-existent and they need to spend more time training their designers.

Master bedroom closet and turned out beautiful right on time and did a great job cleaned everything up I was very happy I like them so much I called them back and they're coming back next week to do another closet

Not well....they are financially related to Closets by Design some how and use the same manufacturing facilities. Pricing was a complete joke and Closet World lost the bid to California Closets over $300....I paid more with California Closets because they offered a better values for the money. Closet World and Closets by Design both receive an "F" for not being totally transparent and wasting time thinking you are sincerely negotiating with them. Coupons are a joke....prices with competitors are the same without a silly coupon.

Just OK, the designer was friendly and courteous. However, I got the feeling she kept trying to upsell us, we eventually came to agreement on the scope and price of the install. I was not happy with the delay from the installation department on the day of the install. Overall the people on the phone were polite and courteous and did listen to my concerns. The installer was on time and did a fantastic job putting in the closet. He did have to remove some newly installed molding and I noticed after the fact that he did not throw the removed molding in my trash, so he either threw it away somewhere else or use it for another job. I would've preferred if he asked me first.

Recently married and needed a new closet for master bedroom, quality and price were excellent, response could have been better but the quality made up for it. 

Closet World had excellent service, on time, outstanding quality and workmanship. I had a challenging office space, designer answered all my questions and they delivered better than my expectations. They had the best price around.  Closet World designer provided me with good suggestions, great design ideas which works best for my needs and space, and alternatives to work within my budget, I am beyond thrilled. I highly recommend Closet World!

Called in after seeing an ad on tv. The customer service set me up with an appointment with a designer. She came to my house to show us color/wood samples and then talk about what I had in mind for my closet makeover. She was really creative especially since my space was a bit oddly shaped. We went over my belongings and how many items and things I wanted to store in the unit. She also talked about how the design should match the vibe of my home which I agreed. I went with a modern simple white finish unit as I feel like it will grow with my style and home. The installers came to install and were professional and cleaned up after. The process was pretty simple and took about a week. I was surprised they were able to do something with my oddly shaped closet. 

A total ripoff.  Our first meeting with the designer seemed to go well but she was only able to complete one closet at that visit.
Everything was done manually.  We set up a second visit to do the second closet....again quite slow even though I knew just what I wanted and even had my measurements and a list of our needs, etc.  Since it was new construction, we had a staff member take her to the not completed unit to measure on site.  (We had initially worked off of the model.)
I signed off on the plans and we scheduled installation for November 6.  We left on a vacation.  While away, I was contacted by the designer to tell me that her plan for my husband's closet would not work.  She was quite rude and could not understand my concerns.  We agreed on a new plan and I was told that the projected installation date of November 6 would still work.
We were promised that installation would be completed in a day on the 6th and that we would be first appointment.  We waited and waited and the first installer arrived at 2:30.  They sent two people instead of  two teams.  It was a mess.  Because we live in a condo, they were not supposed to work later than 5 but we kept them until 7.  What a mess.  Plus, they got grease on the brand new carpet. They sent 1 person the next day who did not finish.  It took 3 more appointments to get everything installed plus carpet cleaners who cannot get out the stains, electricians to move outlets that were not accounted for by the designer, painters to patch walls.  We got an expensive poor quality job.  Schedulers and supervisors absolutely lied about times of arrival on every occasion.
We are still in discussion about final payment.
What a waste of time and money.

The initial designer was great to work with, but other than that, the customer service was horrible. They were very rude on phone and were difficult to work with. They were supposed to finish in just a few days, but it took over two months for them to finish. There were also cracks and dents in the brand new cabinets. They knowingly installed products that were already damaged from the warehouse. They made it very difficult to get these damages fixed. I had to take a bunch of pictures to prove the damages, and they were unwilling to come out to take a look. They even double billed me for the job, before work was started. These extra charges took several weeks to rectify. After all of this, before the full job was finished, I had to pay an additional $3,000 for them to correct the issues they caused in the first place. In the end I had to threaten legal action to get the job finished and the situation rectified. I would not recommend them to anybody.

As repeat customers I expected a much better experience. I was very disappointed in the sales manager. Sales manager was haggling over $125 on a $5000 order. Ruined the whole experience for us. Quality of garage cabinets is pretty poor, they filled cracks with a white crayon?! The bedroom closet is better quality but they installed the wrong drawers initially with cheap hardware. They did correct that the next day to their credit. Install team was courteous and professional. That is the reason for the C grade experience instead of a D grade overall.

I would NOT recommend this company. The installers were great, but Howard Emmons and the sales rep were not. He was the supervisor of the installers and when I brought everything to his attention, he said, "well, that's not how we do things."

Every aspect of getting my garage storage cabinets from Closet World has been fabulous! I loved working with my sales consultant, Verna. She is very knowledgeable & made herself available to me for all my planning needs. A lovely person! Ron & Juan, the installers, were very skilled, efficient, clean & detailed. One cabinet was the incorrect size but they showed up the next morning to install the correct one. Very happy with my large purchase.
