WALLPAPER CITY

We called to schedule customer kitchen countertop measurement and installation. Wanted to support a small, local business and told them I'd use them as long as they matched the Home Depot price. They were very enthusiastic and said absolutely...told me they would call back in 20 minutes. 5 hours later, no call. I called them again and asked if someone could come out the next day and take initial measurement to provide quote. Their worker came out and gave a "guesstimate". It was very challenging because he spoke very little English. I am used to this, but I really could not comprehend what he was trying to tell me. We called the store and were told, "Oh, yes...we will do the job. Thank you! We'll send you an estimate today. Thank you! Thank you!" We scheduled the worker to return the following day at 8am to take final template for the granite. A. Never got an estimate or a call back from Joanna or Sally at Wallpaper City. B. Waited at the job site for 30 minutes on Saturday morning for him to make template. He never showed. C. When I called him to ask where he was, he said he wasn't coming because he had to pick out granite first...2 days from then. (UM...pretty sure you actually measure first before purchasing the slabs...I've renovated a few homes in my day.) D. I couldn't comprehend his further explanation, so I asked him to have Joanna or Sally call me asap because I was on a deadline. They, of course, never called. So much for wanting the business. Our only relief is that we did not pursue and have to deal with further service issues. Went back to Home Depot where we actually got GREAT service from a 25 year HD veteran. Do not waste your time with Wallpaper City. Ridiculous.
