My 97-year-old father is still active and on the go and he needed a mobile medical alert to go with him. I studied their web site, read reviews and thought the ALERT 1 Kelsi would be a great choice for him. He would be able to talk to an operator to explain his problem and the unit would function as a GPS so he could be located and the operator could then get him the help he needed. I called and ordered the unit. So far so good.

I wear my pendant when taking a shower, but I do remember their customer service rep telling me (after I had signed up) that MOST of their customers did NOT wear their pendants in the bathroom. I have had Alert I since the summer of 1993, and I still have their services. There are discounts for paying quarterly and a bigger discount for paying annually. I pay quarterly. This is the first service of this type that I have had. The one thing I don't like is that the lanyard that comes with the pendant on it is so long on me as I am a little over 5 ft. tall. The lanyard hangs to my waist. This makes it easy to be set off accidentally while washing dishes as it hits the side of the sink or when using my cordless blower outside. I have tried tying it on the side to make it higher, but I don't want to put any permanent knots in it as it is their property. The nylon cord has a way of slipping loose. I mentioned this problem to them, and they sent me a wrist holder and a small tool to take it off the neck pendant, but I am not mechanical enough to do this. I think fastening the wrist band might be difficult with my arthritis. This business also offers to rent or sell customers an extra remote unit for large homes. I bought one for the bed room.
