Fernando and Go Green not only built our dream home, but became a part of our family. He and his team worked daily with care, compassion and were always professional and respectful to our living space and our neighbors. The original portion of our home was built in 1925. Fernando and his crew added a home on the back of our home, a swimming pool, two additional bathrooms and much more, all while my family of 4 lived in the original space. Construction can be very stressful but Fernando and his team always made us feel at ease. We knew we were in good hands. The best part is that all construction was completed and permits were signed off just before the pandemic. We felt like we were the luckiest family on earth living in this beautiful home while working and doing online school. I HIGHLY recommend Fernando Feldman and Go Green Construction for ALL of your construction needs. He does it right the first time and is beyond detailed making sure that you are 100% satisfied with the finished product.

Fernando and his team are friendly, knowledgeable. prompt, and skilled. He stood up for our special needs and provides contractors with information when we needed something redone. It turned out to be a big job because the house is so old, but we are very happy with the results. I am feeling safe among the nontoxic products we used. This was a very stressful undertaking because I had to research every product that was used because of my sensitivities. Fernando evaluated my proposals against the work and gave us great feed back, even giving us alternatives. We were out of the house several months, but he kept us completely involved in the decisions and we really liked working with him. The house was vacuumed and dusted very frequently during the whole process, the household contents and hard wood floors cared for as well as you could expect given the enormous job. We provided a list of requests about the environment in our home, about no smoking, no noxious fumes in the house, no trash, insecticides, or perfumes, and all about the safe products to be used. He posted our requests so contractors would all know. We will be done with the project soon. .
Description of Work: Go Green Construction, Inc. provided contracting services for mold remediation and rebuild of our old home. He worked very closely with us to find non toxic materials through out the mold remediation of five different parts of our home, the complete attic and crawl space. He helped us update electrical, windows, roof, insulation, and devices to decrease chances of mold in the future.
Following smoke damage to our home, we hired a fire restoration company (to clean the house and remove attic insulation) and Go Green Construction (to do repairs and upgrades). While the cleanup was proceeding, Fernando Feldman, the owner of Go Green, and Stephen Li, Go Green project engineer, spent a few weeks assessing the situation, researching/pricing out green options, and talking with our local building department to determine code requirements. Go Green was clearly in our corner, advocating successfully on our behalf to our insurer that certain remedies would be required to restore the house, including replacing all of the duct work, rather than trying to clean it. For Fernando, his work is as much a mission as a business, and he makes himself available at almost any hour of the day to answer questions and talk through options. He and Stephen looked tirelessly for low- or no-VOC options and sent us links to manufacturer/retailer web sites. They also ordered and hand-delivered samples for our approval. This required a lot of driving on Fernando's part, as we don't live close to Go Green's office. The work was primarily performed through subcontractors that Fernando has known for some time and trusts. Most of the work went smoothly and was performed on schedule. We did run into some small issues at the end of the project that required a bit more oversight on my part than I would have liked, but to Fernando's credit, he remedied all of these issues promptly. We were very happy with the quality of the finished work and would use Go Green again.
Description of Work: Subcontracting of: Wood floor installation, wood floor refinishing, travertine floor installation, lighting installation, attic air seal, attic blown insulation, duct replacement, drywall repair, and carpet removal. A small amount of the work was done directly by Go Green Construction (not subcontracted).

Their service seemed to be okay. They did not try to upsell the estimate they gave me and they did what they said they would do according to the price of service.

Everything turned out much better than I planned for or expected. I trust Fernando with getting any construction job done right. I highly recommend him to you as well. I am SO glad I found him when all I was looking for was a spray foam insulation contractor. He did so much more for me that I couldn't have renovated my house without him. Quit reading this. Give him a call.
Description of Work: I renovated (totally gutted) an entire house; everything back to the studs and exterior walls. Fernando Feldman, owner, provided many of the services I needed to complete major infrastructure improvements to my home including, stucco, electrical, drywall, water heater, HVAC, general construction and most importantly insulation. The workers he supplied did awesome work! They were very knowledgeable about their trades, provides immaculate work and never half-assed anything (His electrician for instance wound up repairing a bunch of crap that a previous (not through Fernando) electrician screwed up.) I'm a perfectionist and can build an entire house to code myself. His people matched or exceeded the quality of my work and expectations. His stucco subcontractor did an awesome job, he refused to stucco my windows in any manner that would wind up with cold-joints or cracks. It was a little more expensive than somebody who would have simply patched the window areas but in the end Go Green covered my house in a single continuous layer with fiberglass reinforcements around the windows. The entire coverage of my house wound up being a bargain, fast and beautiful. Fernando's electrical work is top notch and I designed/specified more complicated wiring than any house I know of. (I've got things like independent circuits for Christmas lights. We're talking a 1300 sq ft house with 50 independent circuits.) His work repaired all the stupidity of the previous electrician and was immaculate! I was going to buy a tankless Noritz or takagi water heater but on Fernando's recommendation bought a lesser known/market brand named "Navien". BEST tankless water heater EVER! period. Only brand certified to be vented with PVC piping (WAY less expensive than double wall stainless requirements!) Even has built-in recirculation pump. Turn any faucet on in my house... instant HOT water. Insulation?? Fernando is one of the few contractors in the Los Angeles region that can do spray polyurethane foam. Nearly twice the insulation value of fiberglass. Closed cell foam that acts as its own vapor barrier and blocks ALL air movement. Rigid, self expanding foam that seals even the tiniest of cracks. No nutritional value to insects. Fernando sprayed all exterior walls and ceiling. My ceilings are only 8 inches thick and this stuff provided an R-value of 36 in my ceiling (better than code and impossible to do in this restricted space with fiberglass batt.) More expensive than fiberglass but in the long run worth every penny. HVAC? His subcontractor did an amazing job for a ridiculously low cost. After another contractor shocked me with a quote of 3500 when I was expecting/hoping for something in the $1600 range Fernando supplied me with a company that started the bid at... $1600 which included even MORE service than the first did in their quote. needless to say I didn't even haggle. Just go do it; and they did a great job. Drywall. Since I gutted my house I needed drywall too. Go Green did it at great prices and they even did it with 5/8 inch drywall in 4x12 sheets. Seriously, try lifting one of those on to a ceiling sometime. Ugh. But they did it all. Finished product was great, done on time and for the work and effort required the price was right. On his advice I installed a complete kitchen from IKEA. I know that IKEA can suffer from a reputation that their furniture doesn't last. But I took his advice. Their kitchens are AMAZING. $7600 bought me everything... INCLUDING five appliances (Dishwasher, range, wall over, built-in microwave exhaust hood, sink and faucet. The quality of the cabinets, even though they are self assembled units exceeds even the best that Home Depot or Lowes offers at a small fraction of the cost. If you can do a bit of assembly and drive a screw yourself you can save HUGE with an Ikea kitchen and come out with a long lasting beautiful result. Even conforms to the better European safety and emission standards. Glad I took Fernando's advice... again. Basically Fernando and his company really knows how to build quality and you will get what you pay for. If you are interested in "green" techniques Fernando and his staff are easily the most knowledgeable in the southern California region. He employs only the best people and knows how to do the jobs himself and so he really knows how to supervise his teams and evaluate their work. His personality can be a bit uncompromising and direct but you want this... Uncompromised work that gets done and gets done right. If I need ANYTHING done on my house now he's the man I go to for both work and advice. Nothing he did for me or recommended to me failed in any way. It was always dead on and more satisfying than I anticipated.
