Music Instruction

Private instruction in piano, music theory and composition. Beginning piano students may take half-hour weekly lessons; it is recommended, but not required, that after a year of study a weekly one-hour lesson be taken. The charge for half-hours is a monthly flat-fee of $125 for four (or five, depending upon the calendar) lessons, including make-ups of any lessons missed due to illness or travel. The charge for one-hour lessons is $210 per month. Music costs are nominal and additional to these charges. Music theory is included with piano lessons as time allows, but concerted study is available to all students in addition, if desired; rates are the same as those for piano. Theory is also available for students who do not study piano but are studying other instruments elsewhere. Composition (includes song-writing) is offered to students who are knowledgeable in music, by permission of the instructor; lessons are one-hour only; call for rates. A free introductory meeting is available for any and all students. Dr. Hurley has over 25 years' teaching experience at all levels, from preschool through university. Her credentials include three degrees in music composition, culminating with a doctorate, with concentration in piano and music theory throughout....
