Despite Maggie's misfortunes, CARE became one of her favorite places to visit (and still is). The staff, especially the doctors, are tremendously friendly. They always knew what was going on with Maggie and were very in tune with her needs and how she was feeling. They helped us understand what Maggie needed and helped her live the life of a normal, happy dog. During one of her acupuncture session...

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
CARE has taken care of our beagle, Maggie for years. We first took her for a torn ligament in one of her hind legs, after the vet said there was no point in doing surgery and she would likely just have to live with the injury. After a few months at CARE, we were amazed at the results. Maggie was almost pain-free and no longer limping! CARE used a combination of physical therapy exercises and acupuncture, all tailored to her injury. The second time we took her was for a displaced disc in her vertebrae. Maggie was in intense pain and we didn't know if there was anything that could be done. CARE came through again and developed a program for her. Again after a few months we could not believe the improvement. The third time we took her (she is a regular), she tore a ligament in the OTHER leg. So she went again for a few months, about twice a week, until she got better. And yes, there was a fourth time. Maggie was diagnosed with auto-immune disease which is her immune system attacking and destroying her muscles. She was unable to open her jaw more than half an inch. We were terrified. With a mixture of strong medication from the vet, once the disease was suppressed, we worked with CARE to re-develop her muscles and make them stronger. The doctors came up with some creative ways to get Maggie to exercise her jaw muscles (it involved a lot of peanut butter which she loved), and worked on her other deteriorating muscles as well. After a couple of months, Maggie's jaw was opening ALL THE WAY. We were amazed once again.
