Description of Work
When I first moved to San Diego, I was impressed by the reviews Maria had online. Also the idea of a "dental spa" sounded relaxing. I am one of those guys with really bad teeth, so I develop a bond with my dentists. Dr. Roybal was professional and I had a few cleanings, 2 root canals, and 2 crowns done in her office. After the cleaning, her staff kept trying to sell me this expensive treatment of inserting antibiotics into my gum. I am a scientist by training, and this sounded like one of those useless treatments (which was confirmed by my dentist friends later). This seems pretty unethical to try to sell me procedures I don't need. For my root canal, Dr. Roybal did not seem to really know the procedure that well (I think she only have 2-3 years of experience out of dental school at the time of my treatment). Usually root canals should be done by an endonists. Overall, all the treatments were relatively expensive and the care was just average. It seems like the office was really down on money and had to charge extra for everything.
