This was my first time using Angie's List.  When I signed up over the phone, I asked the representative at Angie's if he could give me 3 companies to choose from that did wet shampooing of carpets.  He sent me 3.  I read the reviews on-line and decided to go with Haines & Cross.  I called and spoke with the woman who answered the phone and told her what I needed.  She told me that it was a $175 minimum and she was able to accommodate the date that I requested.  That date was a week from my phone call.  She said someone could come out between the window of 12:00 and 2:00 p.m.  That was perfect for me.  My husband was out-of-town which made for fewer people to need to walk on a wet carpet.  That is why I chose that date.  I also had a dinner date with a friend at 6 p.m. 
On the day they were due to arrive, I hadn't heard anything.  It was 1:30 p.m., and I decided to call Haines & Cross to see if they had an estimate of when the worker(s) would arrive.  She told me that I wasn't in the system.  I said, "How can that be?  I called and talked to someone who sounded just like you a week ago, etc."  She said that we should hang up and she would check on it and give me a call back.  When she called back, she said that she did, in fact, find me in the system, but that they hadn't "tagged" me, which I later found out meant my name wasn't put on the white board to assign a carpet cleaner to.  She said she could have someone out between 4-6 p.m., which was upsetting because I had the dinner date.  But, I didn't want to schedule another date due to the convenience of my husband being out of town. 
It turned out that a young man was sent whose name was Robert; he came at 3 p.m.  He was excellent!  He is the reason that I would use this company again.  He was professional; he was a hard worker.  He protected my floors and walls.  He had a very high standard.  He did an excellent job on the carpets and the ottomans.  The woman in the office told him that he could give me a "10-15%" discount for my inconvenience which he did.  Robert also had a special certification that he received from taking special carpet/upholstery cleaning classes.  He was truly a cut above.  Had I been rating Robert, I would have given an A for professionalism and punctuality, but because it was an overall rating, I had to give a lower grade.
This might sound silly, but I was able to make my dinner date with my friend -- but just one hour late!

The two technicians who did the job were excellent,showed up on time were efficient and  very nice.  i would recommend this company!!

I bought a deal for the wood floor cleaning and reconditioning for $149.
When I called to make the appointment I asked them to give me an estimate for carpet cleaning as well.
Eric called before the appointment to get the history on my wood floor so that he knew what to expect when he got here and what additional equipment he may need, I thought that was great and very professional.
He called me in the am to let me know that they were running a bit behind due to the traffic. I always expect that in Orange county but normally people do not call to say they will be a little late. I appreciated that.
Eric gave me an estimate on the carpets, it was a more than I normally pay so he offered to split the difference. I thought that was very good of him. Eric got to work on the hardwood and Sal on the carpets.
They did an amazing job and it all looks great. Eric also left some spot cleaner for the floors and upholstery as well as booties to wear while the carpet is dry.
I was so pleased that I just bought a coupon for tile cleaning.

I'll be brief here due to time, but from beginning to end, the company's reps were in great communication, prompt, professional and cared about their work in a major way.  Carpets look fantastic.  All spots gone.

No well. I telephoned to arrange an appointment; In response to their recorded message, I left my name and phone number; I never received a return phone call; I called another company.

How was the service, How did it go overall...Really You won't just let me do one, I have to do both before I can submit report?
Overall it was much better than expected.

The tech was 1/2 hr late but did call in advance.  He did a quality job.  I paid $70 extra in cleaning the stairs and I'm very satisfy w/ the work overall.

The next day, Eric came over and in 3.5 hours had completely stripped and cleaned the floor of the polish.  The floor looked good and Eric was very professional in his work and care for both the flooring and our furniture.  I would highly recommend his services.  His price was fair and his workmanship was excellent!  It is really great to have a service provider that does what he says he will do when he says he will do it and does it well.

All areas looked much cleaner when finished.  It was pretty straightforward, but he took the time to re-clean where some areas didn't completely clean on the first pass.  Arrived on time and took about 4 hours to complete.No issues. Would use them again.

I had contacted several carpet cleaning company on Angie's List and  Haines & Cross was the only ones that actually got back to me, I spoke with Michelle at Haines & Cross she was very friendly and was able to provide me with a quote and show me a better deal to get my carpet cleaned.  Michelle was able to schedule me in since it was a last minute service call, she told me they had a 3 room special and when the technician arrives at the property he would narrow down the quote better.  The technician arrive on time and provided me with the quote which came out to be almost $350 but I had asked if I can use the loft that was bigger instead of the smaller bedroom as part of the 3 room special and he said  "Sure" so the new quote came out to be $250 so I was very happy about the savings.  Haines & Cross was very flexible and easy to deal with.  My overall experience with them is great and would highly recommend anyone that is looking to get their carpet clean to use them in the future.

I was quoted the price over the phone by how much is charged per square foot.  When the technician arrived he measured all carpeted areas.  The total came to about $530 which was more than I usually spend on carpet cleaning.  I needed the carpet cleaned immediately so I went with the company.  The technician spent over four hours vacuuming and cleaning a living room, stairway and land, and three large bedrooms.  I have never seen a technician work so hard.  He spent at least the first hour and a half just vacuuming.  The house, a rental, had already been professionally cleaned and vacuumed.  The next two and half hours were spent cleaning the carpet.  The technician never stopped working. The carpets were beautiful when dried and I was very happy. 
Although the price was high the work was beautiful.  The company even followed up two days later to see if all was well.  I would recommend this company to anyone who has quality carpets and wants true professionals.

The service was awesome overall! They’re very professional but they also take the time to ask you’re your needs are and to make sure that you’re completely happy with the work. They’re just great to work with overall.

Overall, the experience went well. The technician that I worked with was great. Afterwards, the carpeting looked brand new! There was one area in particular that I wanted to have, which  was a path that lead from the kitchen to a bathroom that he was able to clean up like there was nothing there. He was diligent and focused.

They did an excellent job overall! We were happy with their professionalism, and made every precaution against getting the rest of the house dirty.  They also made sure that the furniture was isolated away from the carpeting that was being cleaned. Their price seemed reasonable, and it was a good experience overall.

The service turned out fine overall. They did a good job; showed up on time and as scheduled and the technician knew what he was doing.

The service went very well overall. It’s a small company. They were very responsive (more than I would’ve thought from a carpet cleaning company), and the two technicians were quite good to work with. My carpets look almost brand new, even though I have two dogs, along with a lot of foot traffic at various times  and the carpeting is about 16 years old. They also told me that if the stains re-surface to call them. This is the best company that I’ve worked with in regards to carpet cleaning. They were honest and didn’t try to promote or sell any other offers. I was delighted by the quality of the work and plan to use them as my preferred carpet cleaner!

They arrived on time, and the young technician was incredibly helpful, worked quickly and did a great job overall. Their price was a bit high, but I feel like I got what I paid for.

After a thorough exam, and quote, from owner Eric Bollman, Moses, and Sal, showed up right on time, one week later. They were very professional and polite and had both been with the company over 6 years. Although it took them 4 hours the results were amazing. I've been in the home 25 years and these carpets have never been this sparkling. The rugs and love seats dried so well and there was none of the residual "crunch" underfoot I've gotten from the budget outfits. I cannot recommend them highly enough, their ads say it all and Itruly got what I paid for. I will use them again and tell all my friends and neighbors about them. Thanks, Angie!

They were very responsive and he also gave us a bottle to clean spots for free.  He showed us how to spot clean and he left us a bottle of cleaner without charging us extra.

It was excellent. I didn't think this carpet would ever come clean because my daughter and her family lived here and they had toddlers. I am telling you they did a wonderful job as it looks like new. They were able to offer extra advice and service including an enzyme treatment when they showed up and I am so glad I went ahead with the enzyme treatment as it took care of the pet stains and smells. They were prompt with their appointments and professional.

We looked them up on Angie's List. The brought the life back to our carpet. We have had it since 2003. We had used a different company before. This time, we wanted to use water and steam to try and get the carpet to come up. It used to take days for the carpet to dry. Haines & Cross was located close to us. The owner seemed informed. We have pets and trying to get pet stains out is hard. They got 90% of the stains out.

We called for an appointment & Jose arrived the next day. He was extremely nice & very professional. It was a very hot afternoon, but Jose worked very hard & left us with a spotless carpet. We have found the carpet cleaners for us & will recommend H&C to our friends. Angies List does it again!

White carpet came beautifully clean, and I'm very pleased with that (even they were surprised). However the up-selling was annoying; I bought the extra $100 treatment to enhance spot removal, I declined the extra treatment to prevent more black edges (reportedly due to air conditioning residue??). After move-in is complete, I want to clean again and then go to "shoe-free" environment. I'm not sure I will pay their price again.

Wonderful, they were very good at following up and even better at their jobs, we highly recommend the, and my wish they worked out where we now live.
