Things started out very good with Vic. He is a very friendly guy and seems knowledgeable.  Things turned when we started to get  little suspicious after he never would give us an estimate for any of the work he proposed.  Some of the subcontractors provided very vague estimates but Vic never did describe his billing processes or his cost.  Soon it began time to start work ( we were on a time line for moving) so we just moved forward with work. Then the bills started to come - VIc charges $85/hour for his time, which is fine with us, but he never told us he charges by the hour.  When we repeatedly asked about estimates, he said, "I don't do estimates because everyone just changes their minds."  Also fine with us but that would have been helpful to know in the beginning. We would have gone with someone else.  Surprise bills are not fun.  He never provided any receipts for the many trips to Home Depot or any other supplies. He felt that providing receipts unnecessary ; we don't even know him.
Aside from the billing issues, his technical work is poor. He patched a huge hole in our ceiling.  The large hole was framed incorrectly.  VIc refused to admit there was a problem and would not come back to our house to look at the issue.  I will attach a picture.  Maybe Vic will finally see the problem.  We had to hire a second contractor to clean up VIc's mess.
We asked that the squeaky floor joists be rescrewed while the carpet was up so that the floors wouldn't squeak anymore.  Sadly the carpet is already laid and we have several very squeaky spots.  The most annoying one is right in front of my baby's crib.  Thanks Vic.
The refriderator was pulled out to install the wood floors.  The tile was not removed from under the fridge so the appliance is on two different floors making it lean forward.  We adjusted the legs on the fridge and it helped but not doing  a thorough job is pretty classless on a 2 million dollar home.  He also did not reinstall the ice maker so we have no ice.  Thanks, Vic.
Possibly the worst work Vic did was install recessed lighting in our family room.  The 9 lights are supposed to be centered in rows of 3.  The cans are all mismatched and not aligned.  A kidergardner could have drawn a more strait line.
Please beware. VIc is a nice person up front but overall we felt his work was overpriced and WAY below average in terms of quality.  It is going to cost of thousands to repair the damage that he did. 

This is the 3rd time I have used him for remodeling (3rd house).Vic Peterson is completely trust worthy who does outstanding work. He hires outstanding subcontractors and requires excellence. He is a "Carpenters Carpenter" who delivers an excellent job. Can be thoroughly trusted. He alos builds custom cabinets that are of high quality.
