Handyman Connection - Phoenix

Communication and responsiveness by Handyman Connection were disappointing. However Mike, the handyman, did a nice job and we would use him again.

Lew came to the house, observed the jobs, and gave me a quote. I accepted the quote, and then he went right to work. All the jobs were done satisfactorily. We were very pleased with the work done and would definitely use their services again.

Robby diagnosed and fixed plumbing leak, attached new filter and shower head and installed vent in ceiling compartment.

Justin arrived promptly! He was thorough in his evaluation of the many small projects I needed done. His estimate was spot on cost (including the supplies he had to purchase). He worked quickly and confidently. All repairs exceeded my expectations. I will definitely use Handyman Connection again!!

He fixed the sink quickly, installed the light fixture easily and quickly. Did send me to home depot to pick up some parts for him. When he went to install a ceiling fan, he seemed to run out of steam. It took him two hours, at $60 an hour to install it. It shouldn't have taken so long. It almost seemed like he purposely drug it out.

Ray DeCasper did a wonderful job on the many things I needed to have installed, etc. He was completely professional at all times and was very, very easy to work with.

The Handyman Connection service was easy to schedule, and I received a confirmation via e-mail. The plasterer/caulker man, Pat, was excellent. He arrived on time, planned out all the work with ladders for 22" ceilings/walls, and did all the mixing work outside. He was extremely neat, polite, and did a wonderful, professional job. Pat arrived at 9 AM and worked until 8:30 PM to plaster,sand, and vacuum for several cracks, and recaulk in two bathrooms. Pat was one of the best workers I have seen, and he was the right person for the plastering and caulking. He did a professional job and took great care in his work. Even my mom, who is a perfectionist, marveled at the wonderful job Pat did. She liked him and his work so much, we asked to have him back to do some further caulking arould the kitchen cabinets. I had a light fixture which I could not figure out how to install in a closet. He said not to worry. He had it installed in seconds. I cannot say enough about the Handyman Connection and Pat. The service was outstanding, the work was superb, and the price was low considering the time and workload that Pat had to do. I would use their service again without hesitation. This company was awful. We asked for a dog friendly handyman as we do dog rescue of labs. We made an appointment so that an estimate could be done while I was home; instead of keeping the appointment time they came while I was not home, were rude to my husband who is disabled and gave an outrageous quote for replacing a pergo floor ($10 per square foot). When the company called to talk about the quote it was clear that they had no desire to do the job. Then, to add insult upon injury they made a condescending comment on the work order about our dogs which was completely unacceptable. I called the company to speak to the owner to ask why the quotes were what they were, never got a follow up call and when I called back was treated very rudely by their receptionist. As a legal professional, I was astounded at the lack of professionalism and downright rude customer service. I will never hire this company, and I would not recommend them to anyone else. As a matter of fact I am so offended by their treatment that I will go out of my way to make sure that none of my extended network in Phoenix ever hire them.

Justin did a great job! He was prompt coming out to give a quote--made suggestions on what would work best, too. He picked up materials, worked steady all day, cleaned up work area. His suggestion of redwood slats in gate was something I hadn't thought of but really dresses up the look and provides privacy. Had a quote on just a gate from a big box store that was almost as much as gate, labor and my door to garage total. Glad I checked Angie's List for this company. Thanks, Justin.

I got them from Angie's List. I was selling my house. They were great. The person that they sent out was very easy to work with. He actually had to finish the work after I left home and so, I trusted him with that. It looked like everything was fine. There were some little things that did not get done and I had to remind them. Their price seemed a little high by the time it got done but it was not unreasonable.

On time, professional, fixed what I thought was worked with a smile, and gave me advice on other things in my house.

Mr. Kirk, from Handyman Connection, called me the night before to confirm the appointment. He arrived on time and completed a rather difficult installation. He did a great job.

I called Handyman connection on Thursday and John Roberts came by at 8:00 AM the following morning. He was very knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend the company.

It tokk a little time to get someone to come round and we thought that was when everything was going to be fixed. Instead it was just to give us a quote. Tim Gorman was the handyman and he gave us a quote and we arranged a time about 9 days in the future. Tim came on time on the day and spent several hours working. He went to Home Depot to get some parts and his workmanship was very good quality.

We had an onsite estimate the day after my initial call to Handyman Connection. While the contractor was late, he called ahead to let me know that his previous job had run over. Mike did a thorough evaluation of my proposed projects, advising against one (installing a ceiling fan in a casita that had no viable way to run electricity to the ceiling without significant cosmetic work being required). Mike was more than willing to perform the work on a weekend (as he needed access to my home office) and in fact, worked Saturday and Sunday (at no additional cost) to get the job done. He gave me great input as to what materials I should get ahead of time but he also took the responsibility for getting the back-end materials (wiring, conduit, etc) - he even picked up the light bulbs that I forgot! Despite running into some minor obstacles (whoever chose to silicone seal all the fluorescents to the ceiling should have their head examined), the finished product was great. I particularly respected the fact that Mike was honest about his 'ceiling finishing' abilities when we were discussing the possibility that the silicone might pull off some of the paint when he removed the lights. He let us know that he did not feel comfortable doing the patching work which would've required more skill/experience than he had. In the end it didn't matter because he did an AWESOME job removing the lights and you can barely tell they were firmly adhered to the paint.. He went the extra mile on several things to provide us with great results - the little touches that differentiate 'good' work from 'great' work. I would recommend HandyMan Connection and we intend to use them again.

Arranged to have a quote done by handyman connection and Tim came out to do the quote for us. He offered to do the work the came day, or return at a later time. We had him come back a week later. Tim took about 1 hour to fix the cabinet for us, and did a great job! He was careful to protect the flooring, and surrounding cabinets while working.

Right on time, nice to deal with, very helpful, and not pushy. Quality work in a very hot work area.

I bought a light kit thinking I could install it myself on my office ceiling fan. It didn't work at all. I also needed a new ceiling fan in my family room that comes with a light kit. So I bought two new ceiling fans, both with light kits. Kurt came over on time and surveyed the situation. After looking at the ceiling fan in the office, he said with complete confidence that he could get the light kit working (the one that I couldn't). It turned out that the wiring in the fan itself wasn't connected to the light kit wires. He got it working in 10 minutes! I am going to Lowes tonight to return the extra ceiling fan that I wound up not needing. Then he replaced the family room ceiling fan with the brand new one I bought. It looked great, but when we turned it on, it made all kinds of noises and seized up. He took the ceiling fan down and we discovered there was something within the sealed ceiling fan housing that was causing the problem. Instead of me returning the fan to Lowes, he disassembled the guts of the ceiling fan and discovered that the remote control receiver had come unglued from inside the housing. He firmly attached it and reassembled the whole fan. It works perfectly! So by returning the unnecessary ceiling fan, I saved about the cost of having Kurt come out. I am so satisfied with not only the quality of his work (and his good humor), but that he went the extra mile and fixed a manufacturer's defect, saving me time and more money. I'm thrilled with him and this company. I would recommend both to anyone in the area looking for work to be done!

Justin came into the house and immediately put me at ease. He is an easygoing guy that's fun to talk to and knows his craft so well, that I knew things were going to be perfect. He worked nonstop 8-4, and in those hours he mounted 3 flat panel television sets on mounts that I had purchased, fixed my creaking stairs, and fixed the doors so they'd open and close without scraping against the door frame. The televisions were not only mounted; he added new electrical jacks just behind the televisions so there would be no power wire hanging down! He also created an empty tunnel from behind the television to just above the floor so that I can have cables going between the television and the stereo equipment/cable box without any wires visible! The holes in the wall are covered by very attractive coverplates that have bristles covering the openings. He did this for all 3 televisions and let me tell you, it looks FANTASTIC! He also has an eye for aesthetic. He mounted an outlet on one TV horizontal because if he did it vertically like the others, it would've been visible when the TV was tilted. I never had thought of that. So glad he was watching my back! He fixed my two doors in 5 minutes.. Having just bought the house, I wonder how long the previous owners put up with those doors not closing considering Justin fixed in in an eyeblink. He also fixed two of my steps that creaked. They still creak a little bit, but they're 95% better and I can live totally easily with that. He said that a flooring person would have to come in and tear up the carpeting and use glue to make the creaks completely go away. While he was working he went the extra mile and answered some other questions I had, which has empowered me to tackle my broken doorbell on my own, and to install a shelf in a guest bedroom. He also went around my house and told me what his company could do for me with some longer term issues I want to eventually deal with. I am so thankful to Handyman Connection and am grateful to Justin who was so very efficient, quick, and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again, and I'm sure I will do just that!

I had and appointment for first thing in the morning. The handyman called the day before and asked if we could move it to the afternoon. The day of the appointment he called and wanted to move it back to the morning. It took three hours to replace a ceiling fan. Everytime I walked into the room he was on his cell phone. He did a good job, he put down a drop cloth on the carpet before setting up his ladder. I am satisfied with the jobe he did but feel it was too high of a price and took too long.
