Handyman Connection - Phoenix

Robert came by and spent more than a day removing and installing both doors plus the screen door. Had to purchase new framework. After completed, he offered to come by to help with removal of new hardware when I painted because it may be a bit tricky. I did call him, Robert, back later because one of the doors sqeaked and he came by right away and fixed it. And did some extra calking for me. Would recommend.

Terry was very punctual, performed the work, and gave me tips on another bathroom needing help. He is coming back next week to give me an estimate on the second bath. I'm delighted.

Everything went as good as expected. Scheduling appointment was easy. They are always very prompt in returning the call. They worked great, just like we wanted to work.

This was just a quote, no services performed, but I was disappointed with the quality of the quote based on the good ratings on Angie's list. Two aspects that I didn't like: 1. The price quote was more than double the amount of other quotes. Also, the total was actually $1,195 but I was given a $100 coupon for no apparent reason at all. So, the price was just totally out there. Also, there was no itemization of why it cost this much, just a paragraph description and a total amount, very unprofessional. 2. When asking what supplies I would need to provide, it was like the gentleman quoting me was just thinking off the top of his head what I'd need. When I asked, "Don't I need cement backer board, do I need to buy that?" His response was, "Oh ya, you need to buy that too, in addition to the grout and the supply line for the toilet. You buy the grout for sure, so that you can get the color you want." Compared to who I actually went with for this job, the other contractors gave me itemized quotes, just brought a grout color sampler that had like 25 colors on it and everything was included. That was much more professional than what this person quoted me from Handyman connection. So, I know that this was just a quote and no work was done, but I felt like the ratings on Angie's list aren't accurate for this contractor.

Great! The painters were so careful about their work and the clean up. Considering all the extra work involved in this job it only took two days. The house looks great.

I arranged for an estimate for both painting exterior trim and installing new fixtures in a very small master bath. Wes arrived on time for the bid and was able to give me a figure for the bathroom work (which included an Angie's list discount) right away but had to run the paint estimate through their office. He said he would email the figures. I received the estimate the following day and advised him via email that I had opted to go with a painting company for the exterior but wished to move forward with the bathroom work. At the time of the estimate I explained that I would need one trip to remove old fixtures and one other to install new ones. I would remove the ceramic tile floor after which he could remove existing fixtures. I would then need 3 days to patch & paint before he could return to install new fixtures. He did indicate at the time that he was heavily booked but since he lived relatively close to me, he could get started after he finished other jobs and do a couple of things at a time. I demo'd the floor and removed the medicine cabinet and towel bar after which Wes came by in the early evening to remove the toilet, vanity and partially removed the light fixture from the wall so that I could paint around it. When I finished with painting I contacted Wes to advise I was ready for new fixtures to be installed. He returned after hours and installed the toilet and light fixture. During a subsequent visit he measured the vanity while still in the box to learn that, because it had right hand drawers, the plumbing from the wall would have to be re-routed which would necessitate breaking thru the wall and there would be an additional charge. I took a few days to ponder my decision. I debated returning the vanity and ordering a more expensive one with left side drawers but ultimately decided that I did not wish to wait three or more weeks and preferred to keep the drawers on the right side. I called Wes again to let him know that we could proceed with what I had. He returned within a couple of days in the late afternoon-early evening and proceeded to open the wall adding and welding a copper reroute past the where the drawers would be. He did so quickly and neatly. Unfortunately the new pipe was outside the wall resulting in the vanity not fitting flush against the wall. So it had to be undone and additional wall openings were made. There was no drywall patch on hand so the wall was replaced with patch work pieces which had been removed; not pretty but would be concealed by and behind the vanity. The top and faucet were installed but needed new water line resulting in another trip along with installation of all of the accessories, the light switch, outlet and new mirror. I should point out that this is a very small bathroom and everything was a tight fit. The mirror was hung too low and my attempts to reposition it failed..the faucet & light fixture were in the way. I sent an S.O.S email to Wes and followed with a phone call a few days later. He returned two hours after my call, moved the screws and voila....DONE! The final cost was reasonable and right on target for the additional charge; original quote was $440.00 (after discount) + $80.00 more for the plumbing challenge plus some items I had to purchase for which Wes traveled to Home Depot. On the one hand I'm grateful that he squeezed me into his busy schedule after a long day of work elsewhere which included working on a Sunday. On the other, I likely would have preferred to have a morning start and a one-day job. Regardless, Wes has a great sense of humor, was pleasant to have around and knows his stuff.

Did not bring materials as expected, wanted to take a second look at crown moulding in a nearby room. Stayed on task and finished in a reasonable amount of time. I would definitely hire these people again.

Excellent, I couldn't have asked for better service from Shad. Since these systems had to be installed outside my house, Shad had to take into account the power draw on the circuits in my house, so I wouldn't overload a circuit when everything was operating. He added in an extra electrical outlet to the outside of the house from one bedroom. He also plumbed the filtered water line under a paver walkway to the greenhouse, and put the pavers back into place, as though they never moved. He also had to install a completely new hose bib, which involved welding. After that he put all the filtration system in an enclosed cabinet to protect it from the elements. He had to figure out the best position for the swamp cooler and cut, then seal a hole in the greenhouse, as well as make a level surface for the unit with pavers. Shad was extremely prompt, friendly, tidy, resourceful, and professional. He cleaned up after himself and wore shoe covers in the house. I will definitely be calling him again.

We were pleased. The guy was a real hard worker. Everything was really good. His name was Ray and he is their plumbing guy. He did the extra stuff when he bought a part for us. The fitting was the wrong size because of the age of the house and he went out and got a special part at a plumbing supply store. We had supplied the parts. He forgot to leave a receipt for the parts. They don't cover parts; that is how they do business. We should have probably had a copy of it. He knew his stuff. We are always looking for someone that charges less than $100 an hour. We think anyone would be happy if he came to their house. He did a ton of stuff for us. Once he got down to work he had his head down the whole time working.

We recently bought an older home. When we tried out the shower in the Master Bedroom, only the hot water was working, the cold water didn't work at all. We called Handymen Connection after unsuccessfully trying to figure out how to fix this ourselves. They were able to schedule someone to come out the same afternoon. Shad came early on during the promised 2-hour window and called ahead to let us know he was on his way as well. He was very professional and got our shower working again without having to replace any parts. We would highly recommend Shad and Handymen Connection to any of our friends and family.

The craftsman, Pat Brady, showed up punctually for each appointment. He displayed clear knowledge of the work that had to be done, wrote a detailed work order, priced it fairly and completed the work at and in the time specified. The work area was left impeccably clean. I contacted the Handyman Connection because of the experience of acquaintances with them, and they performed up to expectations.

David came over right on time. I told him about my problem. He checked the breaker and duplicated the problem. He let me know what was wrong -- and told me I needed to consult an appliance person. Since there was nothing he could do, he didn't charge me.

Justin was FANTASTIC. Courteous and prompt. Focused on the job at hand. Obviously experienced and competent. I never felt a bit nervous at having a strange man in my home. I have been trying since October to get another contractor to do this job. With Handyman Connection the job was completed within 3 days of the estimate. I was also directed to someone who did carpet repair. Very pleased with the job as well Thank you so much. I will be a repeat customer.

We decided not to go forward with the bathroom project. Regardless, we wouldn?t have gone with this company. I didn?t feel that the gentleman who gave me the estimate was as knowledgeable about the scope of the project as others had been. He was very nice, but I wasn?t confident that the job would have been done appropriately.

I had a concrete block wall that had shifted due to tree roots and made it impossible to open a connected gate. Tim Gorman gave me an estimate based on the fact that the old wall would have to come down and be completely replaced. When working on the project, Tim was able to get rid of the large tree roots under the fence and reshift the wall, and only had to replace a few concrete blocks and saved me money on materials. He was very professional and the wall looks great.

It has been two months of non-stop work and the guys were fantastic. they did everything just the way I wanted and the quality was excellent. When we ran into a problem they were very patient in explaining to me what the issues were and possible solutions. If there were choices to be made, they deferred to what I wanted to do. I'll call them for everything and anything that needs to be done at my house.

Great job, great service, great price and a friendly worker

Kevin Williams came to us from Handyman Connection. When he came to give us an estimate for the labor cost, he told us exactly what materials we needed to purchase for the work he was going to do. Kevin is very good at troubleshooting. He is a careful, complete, extremely competent professional. Not only did he complete all the jobs contracted, but he was able to offer us advice about projects we are, or will be,doing ourselves. We were lucky to have Kevin working with us. Handyman Connection links customers with handymen. They must have formulas for determining prices for specific jobs, and we were a bit shocked at the labor costs. However, once we saw what was involved in completing our work, particularly the patio and gate jobs, we can appreciate the amount of know-how and labor that goes into properly completing home repair jobs.

I had some things around the house that needed to be done for quite some time. A new porcelain lampholder in my son's closet, install a dimmer switch, remove and replace the doorbell and chimes and install a new curtain rod. I put off calling someone because I was concerned about the cost. Chuck showed up, was punctual, looked at everything that had to be done, gave me the cost and got to work. He put a sheet over the floor, had a ladder and all the tools necessary, worked and got all the jobs done in about 3 hours. He was professional and knew what he was doing. I would not hesitate to call Handyman Connection again (and ask for Chuck)!

I also had them do a couple of different things earlier to this. They did a number of small things like moping, took down some shovels, re-floated the wall and fixed up a door. I paid $600 for putting in the kitchen cabinet with the trays and $800 for the several other works that they did earlier. They were reliable and professional. The two men who did the work were very nice and knew what they were doing. The quality of their work was very good especially the one that did the cabinets.

Mr. Mount had taken all measurement on the estimation visit and built the shed door at home shop; the carpentry work went very quickly, he also re-enforced the shed building corners while tightening the roof (no extra charge.) For the new outlets Mr. Mount made great suggestions (which I agreed to) for the type, number and switches based on how I wanted use the area. The work was efficient, clean, and attractive. Later I will be having the exterior trim painted (after the roof is replaced.) Note- I have used Handyman Connection in the past two years for plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and a Murphy bed installed. One of the things I enjoy is their enthusiasm and helpful suggestions/ideas for the work they'll be performing. Every handyman is a real pro at doing anything!

It was good, they came on time, he was very nice and they did a good job.

The price was very reasonable. I liked him, he was very courteous and professional with no idle chit chat to pass the time. I would recommend them to to others.

I thought they were reasonably priced when I got the bid. They showed up when they were supposed too. There was not much clean up but I was satisfied with what they did.

Within 90 minutes of phoning the company, Tim met me at our house. He recognized the heater was shot and had to be replaced . He then offered to drive me to pick up a new one at Home Depot in his truck (saving me a $50 delivery charge and a day of waiting) and had the new heater installed within two hours. I've used this company before and had a similar experience. They are top notch and I can highly recommend them.
