Advanced Auto Service & Tire Center

I was driving up to Flagstaff in the evening and hit a big pothole. My new Chevy Volt does not have a spare tire (it has an air compressor with slime which is more or less useless for anything more than a nail). I felt I was out of luck because by the time AAA came to tow, I knew all the shops were closed. I was towed to the nearest tire place, which was Advanced Auto. The manager, Vaughn, just happened to be picking something up when we got there around 8pm. The shop was closed but he went out of his way, taking over an hour to bang out the dent in my rim so I could at least drive home that night. Finally he got the bead to seat and I was on my way. Not only that, he charged me next to nothing for his labor and even gave me a deal on the tire. If I ever need a tire I'm going up to see Vaughn at Advanced Auto if at all possible.

The guy at the counter wasn't a happy camper in the morning, but by the afternoon when I went to pick up the truck he was in a better mood. He was a little put off by the list of estimates I wanted to have done on the truck. Then I had a coupon for the shocks and he was surprised how cheap it was going to be. I did upgrade to the lifetime warranty shocks and go the labor for free (about $100 savings). The work was done great, but the estimates were really high compared to other shops I went to.
