The C&C Paving team did an incredibled job on my "y-shaped" (two garages, one at either end of the house) driveway that dated from the house's construction in 1977. In fewer than ten hours one day they removed the old driveway, added gravel and re-graded where needed and put down a good thick layer of new asphalt, and it is absolution beautiful. Wouldn't hesitate to hire them again

They came out on 8/23/12 and began the preparations for the new driveway. They dug out the new area for the driveway which included an expansion to the current one to include space to park two cars beside of each other. They put down gravel, etc., for the new driveway and said they would return the next week to pave. They were also kind enough to move a non-running vehicle into our back yard for us. They returned on 8/30/12 a bit earlier than scheduled (which was just fine) and began paving. I spoke with Merle who was extremely polite! They finished the job quickly and efficiently. We were told to wait four days before driving on the new driveway. They also said if we had any questions at all, to please call and they would be glad to help us. We are very pleased with our new driveway

I have to say, I was highly impressed; considering, I have never seen asphalt installed! C&C's crew showed-up ready to roll at approx. 9 a.m. October 17. They tore-out my existing "gravel" driveway and put down new gravel. They also smoothed-out and compacted the gravel with a vibrating roller. One could easily tell, this was not their first rodeo. The next day, they installed the asphalt. All 300 feet and 2 inches thick! C&C's foreman, Merle, answered all my questions and was happy to do so. As matter of fact, the whole crew was very respectful, not only to me, but also my property. They left my property as it was when they arrived. Minus the driveway, of course! They were in and out, a total of 12 hours combined, for both days. Apparently, C&C Paving is so good that it took them 4 months to get to me. But it was, so worth the wait! This is the only negative aspect I can report. The pictures do not do their work justice! I took over 60 pictures, but Angie's List only allows 10 to be downloaded

QUALITY ASPHALT & SEAL COATING
5.0
My house has never had a driveway of any kind as long as I've owned it (20 years). My neighbors DO have an old asphalt driveway, on my side of the house, which encroached on my property by a few feet where the driveway meets the street. My neighbors were going to sell their house, and the boundary encroachment became a problem for my neighbors and any potential buyer. To resolve any boundary issues that might arise in the sale, I decided to install an asphalt driveway next to my neighbor's driveway, which would allow each side to have their own driveway and would resolve the encroachment issue. My neighbors thought this was a good idea and wanted to collaborate on the problem, and I called Chris, the owner of this company, to come out and do a quote. He came promptly within a day or two of when I first called. I originally thought my neighbors were going to repave their driveway, but they later decided just to seal it instead. Chris was very very good at working with us on the property line issue, and explaining how having the two driveways next to each other would work, and was very thorough in explaining any drainage issues and how to avoid water problems as much as possible. He came to perform the work within a few weeks of when we hired him. He had to wait until the weather was suitable for asphalt paving but gave me a few days' notice that he would be ready to start. He took down my shrubs that had to be removed to install the driveway (for an extra price, of course, which was reasonable), and did an excellent job on installing the asphalt driveway. My neighbors were also very pleased with the work he did on sealing their existing asphalt driveway. Chris either answers the phone when you call, or returns your call promptly if you leave a message. He keeps you informed of all developments and goes above and beyond to be prompt, courteous and reasonable. He explains everything he's doing and is an excellent trouble-shooter. I would highly recommend this company for installation of an asphalt driveway

C & C Paving

They gave us a quote that was much better than other quotes we were given for the same project. Once we made the decision to go with Cand C, we had a tentative start date. However, due to bad weather conditions and other issues, this date kept getting pushed out. Because we had to wait for the work to get done, Cand C went out of their way to make it up to us. They offered to do some extra work on the existing drive for an extremely generous price. They showed up on time, explained what they were going to do, went right to work and were finished in about five hours. The work they did was excellent. The existing drive looks much better than it did when we had the work done originally. The addition blends in with the existing driveway and looks as if it were always there. They had to dig up a portion of the yard for the new addition. We asked them if they would salvage as much of the existing grass as possible so that we could use it to plug bare areas around our front and back yards. They stacked all of the grass and dirt in a pile for us and we were able to use this for landscaping, saving us additional money. We are extremely pleased with the work done and will use Cand C again for any future needs. We will also recommend them to anyone we know in need of paving services

We called 3 other paving/driveway repair companies and not a single one called back except for C & C paving. They came out and gave us a quote for the job we needed done. Not only did they quote us a great price but the customer service was exceptional. We gave them the job to do and they got us scheduled in a timely manner. The job was finished the morning that they came out and started. I could not have asked for better work. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs asphalt work done. The employees seemed more than willing to be doing the work for us and have no complaints about their performance! Great job C & C paving

C & C Paving

C&C Paving responded quickly to our request for quote (I believe Mearl came over the same day to give us their free estimate) and took our call promptly every time I called with scheduling or other misc. questions, before and after work completion. Mearl came with his team of 4 people and with heavy equipment and did a great job cleaning and preparing the old driveway for re-paving, grading the surfaces as needed, fixing a draining issue with the previous driveway and laying down the new asphalt. They took proper time during every aspect of the job and made sure the asphalt was compacted evenly and smoothly, and formed nice edges and generous but smooth flaring at the curb. They promptly moved their equipment and vehicles to accommodate our family with parking safely when needed and cleaned properly after the work was done. At the end, Mearl took the time to go in detail with informing us about their warranty and tips on how to protect our new driveway during and after full cure and left a list with instructions and best practices on caring for asphalt on short and long term to preserve its quality and extend its life. The initial quote was for an added thickness of 2 inches in average but from the look of it seen while they were laying it down and after finish, I would say that it was actually more like minimum 2 inches but with an average of 3 inches overall, since some of the areas took some good 4 inches to level, as they brought in about 100-110 tons of asphalt. Mearl and his team were very friendly and easy to talk to, very respectful of us and our property, and very receptive to requests and observations, encouraging us to stick around and come forward with any questions or requests. They worked tirelessly with no interruption for the whole day under 96 degrees sunny weather on top of hot asphalt until they finished by around 6 o'clock. It took a while for them to come and perform the work since last November when he quoted the job, but that is a small concession for us to get their service considering their good reputation. They are a small family business with great ratings and low overhead costs, employing good reliable people (most of them I heard for more than a decade with this company) and they own some really nice heavy equipment which helps them do good quality work quickly. Ultimately, besides their great customer reviews, the thing that finally convinced us to pick them for the project, was of course their more than fair quoted price considering the size of our driveway (we have a circle in the front connecting to a path leading around back to our garage) and he also threw in an approx. 400 sq.ft. asphalt slab in front of our shed (properly graded with gravel they brought in). And even though the price of asphalt increased tremendously since quote time during these last months cursed by crazy inflation, they honored their initial quote and did not cheap out on quality. I can keep going with good words about this team and their outstanding work, especially since good and conscientious people like that are hard to find nowadays and deserve customer appreciation and word of mouth to screen out the bad apples in the business (which I unfortunately had part of plenty times before) but this should be enough to describe that we are really happy with the exceptional work C&C Paving did for us, and we strongly, strongly recommend their service

Our neighbor mentioned he was getting a quote from C&C for a replacement asphalt driveway. We asked for an estimate as well. Four neighbors were given estimates and we all had the work completed. C&C scheduled the work for all four of us at the same time. On day one they removed the previous asphalt of 3 driveways and put down the base. The other driveway was concrete, so they sealed that driveway according to what the owner desired. On day 2, they installed the asphalt for all four driveways. The concrete driveway had some type of sealant installed and then the asphalt was laid on top of the concrete. All four households are extremely pleased with the whole process and end result. The workers were very courteous, agreeable, efficient, hard-working and professional. They worked much longer than 8 hour days per day so that they could accomplish the project for all four driveways within 2 days. The quote we received was about half of a competitor's quote. I believe they extended a discount since there were 4 homes on the same street. The quality of the driveway is outstanding. They also gave us information on future care of the driveway. For example, they said we can call them in a year or two regarding re-sealing the driveway. They said they will inspect the driveway and let us know if it requires sealing and other information. One neighbor also had their driveway extended, so there was additional work involved. We would highly recommend C&C Paving. We are in Pfafftown, NC

They did a good job. They told me when they were going to come, and they came. I had gotten an estimate last year that was going to be $4300, while they charged me $2700. They were fine. They were fairly prompt, they completed the job in 2 days, and they did a good job.I felt the price was good.

The end result is excellent. The driveway is smooth, properly graded, and looks great. The crew that did the job was extremely professional and left the site completely neat. The equipment used appeared to be new and well maintained. The only bump in the road was our choice of timing -- the project was started in January, so weather prevented completion until late March
We contracted with Carolina Road and Drive in October of 2016 to replace our gravel driveway with a smoother surface without loose stone. During Patrick's initial visit to our home, he offered 2 options for the driveway: blacktop or tar and chip. I asked him to explain both options as I wanted to make sure I understood what I was being offered because I am not a paving professional. He explained that blacktop is the very smooth, dark black surface also frequently called asphalt. He quoted me approximately $7000 and indicated it would likely require around $1000 in annual maintenance. He then explained that tar and chip is "like the road" (his words) and referenced the road that our driveway attaches to. I had previously indicated to him that I wanted a surface that my kids could roller skate and skateboard on, something without loose stone. Again he indicated that tar and chip is "like the road" which was an acceptable surface to me. The contract stated that part of their work would involve killing off all of the vegetation currently growing from under our gravel driveway so that it would not come through the new surface. We agreed on price of $4500 and the work began a few days later. Once finished, I was concerned with the amount of loose stone on the surface because that is not "like the road" at all and is not what I was led to believe I was purchasing. I contacted Patrick within 2 weeks about my concerns and he indicated that I needed to give it time, at least 6 months. Additionally, the surface is so thin that when my son used his pogo stick, it broke through the tar. At Patrick's request, I waited 6 months before contacting him again. In April, I reached out with my concerns that there was still a large amount of loose stone as well as copious amounts of grass growing through the driveway, particularly at the edges, so much so that there is no longer a clear edge to the driveway. I was unable to get in touch with him, my call went directly to voicemail, so I left a message asking him to call so I could discuss my concerns. It is now July and although I have been able to make contact with him as well as his associate a few times, we are being pushed to the side in favor of other jobs. We have attempted communication through both phone and email. We have been told multiple times that someone will be out to address the vegetation issue, but no one has come and no one contacted us to let us know it would not happen. We were told specifically by Patrick that someone would be out this past weekend (July 1-2), but then no one came, and no one let us know that no one would be coming. We planned our weekend based on the fact that someone was supposed to come but did not receive the courtesy of a call to let us know it wouldn't be happening. Additionally, CRD's response (when there is one) is focused on vegetation which is actually a very small part of our concern. The larger concern is that we were led to believe that we were purchasing a driveway that is "like the road" (i.e. no loose stone, thick enough to withstand something like a pogo stick, something my kids can roller skate on) but that is not what we have and CRD appears to be in no hurry to address our concerns despite the fact that we paid in full back in October and they offer a 1 year guarantee on their work. We understand that there was a death in the family that Patrick had to deal with that resulted in the company getting behind on some work, but that was months ago. We have been patiently trying to get our issue resolved for 3 full months, but it is a struggle to even get a phone call returned. During that time, I received multiple estimates from other paving contractors who confirmed my suspicions that the road is not tar and chip and that I was lied to and overcharged when I was sold this driveway

What do customers in Winston Salem say about Seal Asphalt?
I called and asked for an estimate. The same afternoon a representative came out and measured my drive. A formal, written estimate was emailed to me the next day. I paid a deposit of 50% and the rest after satisfactory completion of the job. The crew came out and completely prepared the drive. They applied two coats and did a 100% clean-up before leaving. The drive looks great.
