Screenmobile of The Triad

What a refreshing experience. Gerry Farmer (owner) came out to my house within 20 mins of calling him to request a quote to repair or replace two sliding screen doors for our patio room. He was very professional and explained to me what Screenmobile was all about. They come to your residence and actually custom make the screens right there. Within 15 minutes I had an estimate and had scheduled a date for the work to be done. Because of his work load I had to wait one week before he could do the job. On the day the work was scheduled to be done, his worker arrived within 15 minutes of the appointment time. He introduced himself and explained again what he would be doing and approximately how long it would take. Two hours later I had two brand new sliding screen doors. I HIGHLY recommend this vendor. Not only do they do sliding screen doors, they do window screens, garage screens, and a number of other types of work. I will definitely call them again for any future work that I may need

I contacted this vendor through Angie's List. When I called him to see if he could come out and give me an estimate to repair or replace two sliding screen doors on my patio room, he told me to go to Home Depot or Lowes Home Improvement and buy the screen door at one of those store. As is turned out, Home Depot and Lowes do in fact carry replacement sliding screen doors, but not the size that I needed

We recently purchased a home in Stokesdale and the house did not have screens on any of the windows. I called two companies, one of which was The Window and Screen Doctor. The first company didn't want to come out and wanted us to give them all the information via email or over the phone. My husband didn't want to do that because, if there was a mistake, we would be responsible. We decided to use The Window and Screen Doctor because of Mike's responsive. He returned calls quickly, came to the house within two days, measured all the windows, provided a quote the same day he measured and the screens were installed by Mike the following week. We were very happy with the service provided and would recommend Mike to anyone. I did not give a rating for price because we didn't really check around for prices; we were just thrilled to have someone do it and to have one less thing to worry about. I'd take pictures, but not sure pictures of screens would be too helpful

We discussed on the phone; I travelled to home office location and left the "sample sized" screens at the Shop. He contacted me of their completion; and I followed the same procedure for pick up.

They made the screens for me as cheaper as anybody else, most people were really expensive. The experience was very good. I would recommend them. The price was good, they were fast with the job and did everything I asked them to.

We have a very large, very high-maintenance dog. He tends to go through windows. As we live in an older home with a lot of irregularly-sized and custom windows, the Window and Screen Doctor is our go-to company. Very prompt communication and service, and prices are reasonable.

DECKED OUT OF THE TRIAD

Had to consult with an attorney to get money back. Owner did not get permit, called inspector anyway for an inspection; STANDARDS WELL BELOW code and structural and electrical and roofing so bad, it was completely unsafe. After 3 failed attempts to at least get up to code, I had to have the porch completely rebuilt by another company. Owner extremely arrogant. Company has history of multiple code inspection failures/violations (time and time again at same worksites). Owner claims he has a license, but does NOT have a CONTRACTOR'S license, as he insinuates. The poorest quality workmanship rating possible. This was a 2 year nightmare

They were responsive when I called for a quote, they had good ratings on Angie?s List, and they appeared to be nice when they came out. I had confidence in them so I went ahead and hired them.

A crew of three arrived and quickly went to work. The job was finished in record time and the windows looked great. The crew was fast but did an excellent job. I plan to use them again next Spring.

I really enjoyed working with them. They did a good job with something that was not easy to do. The service men did their best to make them fit exactly in our windows. There were a few small gaps but not big enough for any bugs to get in.

Deck Specialist & Outdoor Living

My wife and I have wanted a screened back porch for years and finally decided to make a move. I thought I would bid out the project and one of the companies I wanted to get a bid from was the Deck Specialist, Marlon Trippett, who had really good marks on Angie's List. Before I called him, I inadvertently ran into him at his display at a local home improvement floor show. My wife and I liked him immediately, both as a person and a seemingly knowledgeable building professional. He took our name and number as did about 4 or 5 other companies at the show. His company was one of two that actually called us back. We made an appointment for a home visit, and Marlon came to our house. He was personable, courteous, friendly, and was a good listener. He made recommendations, based on what we said we wanted and needed, that significantly improved on and surpassed the expectations we had developed in terms of the size and location of the porch. He took measurements, asked some more questions, offered some options, and then gave us an estimate on the spot. It was pretty much in line with our budget, but I didn't feel we should pull the trigger right away. He said he would send us a revised estimate via email with whatever discounts we might qualify for (including an Angie's List discount), and we could let him know our decision. No pressure, no hype, no big sales pitch... just a pro who apparently knew he was offering a really good product at a reasonable price. Once he left, we talked it over and decided that with his Angie's List creds and our quick assessment of him personally, we wanted him to build our porch. We never got another estimate. Marlon told us that payment would be made in thirds: one third at project beginning, one at the midpoint, and one when finished. We felt that this was a totally fair and equitable arrangement for a consumer and a committed builder; he can pay for the materials to start the job, and keep it going, and you know he doesn't get completely paid until the job is done. We were not on a really tight schedule, which was a good thing, because we experienced an unbelievably wet November and December here, and many days the conditions made it impossible to work. Nevertheless, on those days that allowed work to be done, the Deck Specialist crew was always prompt, friendly, courteous, considerate, tidy, and from what I know about building, meticulously professional. The two main guys, Wes and Jason, were great people to have working on your house. When the project seemed about to fall behind schedule, these guys, and some other folks from the Deck Specialist crew, worked on rainy days using tents and tarps. They also worked on some weekends when the weather forecast looked like it would be difficult to work early in the following week. Who does that? As the porch progressed, and we walked out onto it from our house each evening to "inspect" the work after they had gone, we got more and more excited, and more and more impressed by the quality of that work. Now that it's done, we could not be more pleased with the way the porch looks and feels and blends in with the rest of our home. It is everything we had originally imagined and more. We tell people that it seems this porch has been on the house as long as we've lived here (6 years) but we somehow just hadn't discovered it 'til now. Marlon came out to the house recently for the final payment and to see what we thought. He noticed some damage to the grass lawn next to the porch that had become muddy due to the incessant rainfall and its 'low' location, and the unavoidable need for worker traffic around the porch area. He offered to take care of it or give us a rebate so we could take care of it. We chose the latter. To the end he was attentive to our needs and insistent on being sure we were satisfied customers. This is the 7th or 8th time I have used Angie's List to find a professional service provider, but by far, the largest project in scope and cost. All of those experiences have been good, but none as gratifying as this one. We would recommend this company to anyone interested in great, conscientious, professional work at a reasonable price

I contacted Marlon in regards to quoting for construction of a new deck and screen room. He was very responsive and had the quote back to me within the designated time. We were quoting several providers and Deck Specialist was competitively priced using similar materials. Although we decided to use another provider, (difference in construction materials and warranty) I wouldn't hesitate to contact them for quoting and possibly constructing future projects

Marlon came out and discussed options and gave quotes, twice, and patiently answered questions, offered ideas and waited while I considered choices and decided what I wanted to do. He and his crew started when scheduled and finished a few days earlier than expected, despite a day or two lost to rain. I could not be happier with the results. The kiln-dried decking, stained Royal Mahogany, is beautiful. The Trex railing and ballisters give my house a whole new look. I LOVE my screened in back porch- a beautiful a living area I can fully enjoy without mosquitoes! With porch dimensions of 28x10 and 28x8, the cost of materials and labor did add up, but I feel the price was reasonable and worth every penny. I felt very comfortable that the crew knew what they were doing. The quality of all work was excellent. Definitely recommend Deck Specialist
Very nicely handled. (Work was done during some of the coldest days of the year, in early January). The work crew was very professional, removed the old deck, carried off the old materials, and built the new deck, thoroughly cleaning up when they finished. The team did good work; hen I asked for a minor change, they checked with the boss and incorporated the changes quickly
The guy that I got from ANDY ON CALL was really good. He was real reasonable about what he charged, helpful about helping me do the project, and he made suggestions. I really liked him so I called him back to do another job.
My recommendation says it all. On Paul's initial call he came to my home and went through both my PC and laptop for a fee of $100. You could also call him and get an estimate based on what you want done.

Mark did an excellent job. He is professional and his workmanship is outstanding. He removed the old wood, hauled it away and cleaned up the area daily. I will definitely use him for other projects, and I will gladly recommend him to others.
They came on time, gave me the price beforehand, repaired everything well, and I was satisfied. I thought the price was a big higher than I had been quoted on the phone, but since I had not written down the information, I did not try to renegotiate. It was worth it to see the screens in good repair again. The quality of the work and the company representative were first rate

What do customers in Winston Salem say about Screen Porch?
Mr. Hodgson took all the measurements, came up with an estimate, and provided an estimate for a couple of types of screens and frames. I found the estimate to be within our budget and we accepted his offer. Two of the screens needed a small adjustment after delivery and that was done at no additional charge.
