I had water damage to my plaster walls and sheetrock ceiling in my bathroom from a roof leak in my bathroom. Since my house is over 90 years old, there was also no exhaust fan in the bathroom. The guys from Alert Home Repair did a great job installing the fan and repairing the plaster and replacing the sheetrock. I'm used to waiting a couple of weeks to schedule a job, but they were able to schedule the contractors within 24 hours. I was so pleasantly surprised by that. Even though it was a small repair, they were super-careful and professional, and took extra time to go over the process with me (since I am nosy and ask a lot of questions). I have another small repair pending for which I will definitely seek their help. Thanks for a job well-done.

Josh is excellent. He performs high quality work and is really easy to work with. He's one of the most polite people I've ever worked with, but that's sort of beside the point, because the bottom line is he's really good at what he does, and was really determined to do exactly what I wanted. I happened to be home the day Josh did the work, and he called me in to look at things several times to make sure the work was what I wanted. It was - every time. Josh went above and beyond what he had to do when installing the door. I wanted to buy an old door from Architectural Salvage in Greensboro (we live in a 90 year old house). He measured, explained what I needed to buy, and even took the door hardware off of another door in the house that we're getting rid of. It saved me a ton of money not having to go to Lowes and buy a new door, hinges, knobs, etc. We would definitely bring Josh back for more projects.

Overall an excellent experience using Mike and his crew. My house was built in 1940, and I am renovating the kitchen and dining room area. I took down a couple of walls and removed the plaster on a few more, but had several areas where the drywall and plaster would have to mesh. It looks great! One would never know there was a transition in numerous locations. The walls and ceilings are smooth. I would recommend covering floor areas with plastic as drywall mud is messy. Great job!

Richard was fantastic. He has excellent communication, work ethic, and quality of work. We are very pleased with the work he did for us and will definitely use him again in the future. It was so nice to have this experience with him after having a bad experience with a previous contractor. I wish we had found Richard sooner. He installed and finished drywall including matching it up with existing plaster which you can’t tell was done like you can sometimes due to the difference in thickness of plaster versus drywall. He also did some carpentry work and painted.

Overall very well. Crew arrived on time and started moving furniture and covering floors. There were some spots on the ceiling and walls that needed plaster repair that were done first. Paint was applied in 2 coats on walls and ceiling in 8 hours. They cleaned up and put all the furniture back. Quality of work was very good. The only problem was the paint color did not exactly match the samples we provided. Our sample was from Ace Hardware and they used Sherwin Williams. The only finish Sherwin Williams had was satin and we wanted eggshell on the walls. They substituted another color but it tended to a pink hue rather than the brown to beige we wanted.

Pam's Painting By Two
Pam was the best. She did things other painters wouldn't do, didn't skimp on the details. Used quality paint and had good suggestions. I have plaster walls and there were many areas that needed sanding and some repair, and Pam did that. She even caulked around all the windows and moulding because it was needed. She was there every day on time and stayed late to get the job done. I am extremely pleased with the end result and would, without a doubt, hire her again!
