R&R Plumbing
5.0
Impeccable. We had a slightly unusual install in that we purchased a dual fuel range, an above range microwave and a dishwasher at Lowe's. We only needed Lowe's to arrange the installation of the microwave and dishwasher as Piedmont Natural Gas needed to complete our gas line hook-up for the range and therefore would install the range at the same time. This, along with a couple of other things seemed to cause a bit of confusion on Lowe's part, so there were several phone calls needed to make sure the right people were scheduled to do the right things. The "detail" visit to our house to determine if we had the correct space for the appliances took place by R&R Plumbing. They arrived on time and Walt was the person completing the detail. He was polite and answered all my questions. The appliances had to be ordered by Lowe's, so we were told to expect them in about 2 weeks time. When they did come in, Lowe's called us to say they were in and we would be called by the installer to schedule an appt. date. The next day we received a call from a different installer (not R&R). We did not understand why a different installer would be calling us and we asked that installer if he knew. He did not know, but replied negatively about R&R. This had me worried. I had had very good service from R&R up to that point. I called Lowe's. They said they were not sure why the second installer called us, but that they had that second installer's name on the list for installing our equipment. I asked why R&R was not doing it as they thought they would be and so did I. They were not sure where the change took place. I had also privately arranged with R&R (not involving Lowe's or the gentleman who came out for the detail) to take my current dishwasher 5 miles down the road to my mother's home and install it there, as it worked fine and her's was very old. I had spoken with Jennifer and Michelle, at the main office of R&R, regarding this separate service request. They had given me an estimate of the cost for this service call and I had accepted it. Long story short, R&R did the installs and they could not have been more professional. Impeccable. Walt was the one to come back out and install our microwave and dishwasher and then he completed the private service call to take the old dishwasher to my Mom's house and installed it there and took away her old one. Everything was done cleanly, efficiently and with a good attitude ! I will call them again in the future for any plumbing / installation needs we may have. I recommend them highly. Both office staff and installer were outstanding.

It went great! all the painting staff was great and very professional. They were here every morning and worked every day till all was complete. They were no nonsense and were all smiles. They painted the ceilings in the living room and we simply stayed upstairs. They were great to work with and Nathan helped us remodel the kitchen and put in the microwave and dishwasher in perfect places. Even when the wife found other shelves, Nathan put them in. no argument, just action. And the cost was worth it! Rev. Dr. Don Murray

It was an involved project and he did a great job. He is very honest and doesn't overcharge. I don't remember the exact price he gave me but it was cheaper than another estimate that I got.

It is really difficult for me to leave a bad review, but I feel that I have to be honest. Right off the bat, the advertisement makes it sound like you are hiring a business with multiple employees (1 person for 6 hours, 2 for 3 hours, etc.). However, there is only one guy, a nice older gentleman, and you will have to wait until he is available, and the work that can be done will be limited by his ability and willingness to do it. I had contacted him ahead of time to give him an overview of the jobs I needed done. I inquired at that time as to whether he cleaned dryer vents. He responded that he had a special tool for that job and would take care of it. When he arrived, that was the first job I asked him to do, and he handed me a friend?s business card (ABS Professional Window Cleaning). I did call them, but it would be an additional $150 to clean the dryer vent. On the third day, he returned to break down a swing set and geodome in my back yard so that they could be placed at the curb for pickup. John walked out in the yard and looked them over, then returned to tell me that he had called a friend and offered them to him ?free of charge? since they were in pretty good shape. I proceeded to give him odd jobs to do while we waited for his friend to come by. I checked back with him hourly. After several hours, John admitted that his friend would not come by that day. I again asked him to put the swing set and geodome at the curb, suggesting that his friend was welcome to come by and pick them up from there. John didn?t want to do that because they couldn?t be put at the curb without being broken down at least somewhat. At that point, I asked him to wrap up, and I had a check cut for him. He added an extra hour for the day (charging me 7 hours to work from 8:30 to 2:30) and left. A week later, he finally let me know that no one was coming to take away the swing set and geodome. He indicated that he would come back and break them down, but I have now given up on that ever happening. Of the small jobs he did that day while we were waiting for his friend, most of them will have to be redone. For instance, he installed a towel bar, but he moved it over several inches so that the bathroom door now hits it, plus he installed it at a slant. I had asked him to remove some hooks and Christmas lights from the front of the house, and he told me he had done it, but after he left I discovered that he only removed half of them. There were also several things that he was unable to do because he never brought a ladder. To be fair, he did accomplish several things on my list. He installed a microwave, which I would have sworn was a two-person job, but he did it by himself and quite well. He replaced a couple of towel rings and installed some curtain rods and tie-backs. He replaced some ceiling fan blades, repaired a door that was sticking, replaced a deadbolt, put up a couple of bulletin boards and fixed a wiggly curtain tie-back. He also painted a room for me, and he did a nice job, though he was a bit slow. Also, I had to pick up the paint, paint rollers, and spackle for him, so in future I think it is less expensive to use my regular painters. My biggest issue is that he didn?t remove the geodome and swing set. I paid him $245 for that day, and he shouldn?t have come if he wasn?t going to do the job. Also, if he had been honest about the dryer vent, I could have made other arrangements for that much earlier. After my review, John got in touch with me to let me know that he would not remove the swingset and geodome, but he did refund that day's charges. I feel that this was a fair resolution, so I've upgraded my review.

Dave and Rick arrived on time as promised. They removed the microwave, opened a hole through the wall, made a sheet metal sleeve and shield for outside and remounted microwave. The work was completed in approximately four hours.Dave and Rick were very professional and courteous and did an outstanding job. We are very pleased with the result. Bain Heating & Air honored the Angie's List coupon which saved me $60.00 off the original quote of $600.00.

Install of microwave subpar. They told me how to find someone to fix their terrible install. I did and the new folks did a great job fixing the errors. I would never hire them again. Anna was totally unhelpful and frankly more interested in chatting up her subs than quality work.

Recent Review: We were and still are very happy with the work Custom Electric of NC did in our Sum Room addition and Kitchen renovation last Fall. We added multiple lighting fixtures in the kitchen including recessed. pendant, and under the cabinet lights which made it a more enjoyable living area. The winter that followed was quite severe with several storms during which we lost electrical power. Fortunately, we had a generator and Custom Electric designed and installed a new generator panel with the electrical circuits we wanted for emergency use. Thus, when we lost power, the generator allowed us keep our central gas furnace, our refrigerator, freezer, and several appliances such as the coffee maker, toaster oven and microwave functioning. While many Greensboro homes were cold and dark, we stayed warm and comfortable. The generator and the generator setup and panel that Custom Electric installed proved to be a godsend. We would highly recommend Custom Electric for any electrical work. Pat and Bill Schwartz.
