Winston Salem Drywall Installation

Richard really helped us out of a jam this week when another drywall contractor who had given us the runaround for a week, finally fell through completely. With new kitchen countertops on order and with a short window until their install date, Richard was able to step in on short notice and install drywall in our kitchen. He estimated a very fair price for the job, showed up when he said he would, was obviously knowledgeable and experienced as he explained the steps in the process. He used the correct materials for a ‘wet’ area, thinking of details that we had not previously considered, and worked quickly and efficiently. He did a great job, and left the kitchen neat and tidy every day, which is no small chore when working with drywall! We are so grateful for his help on this project, and would definitely work with him again.

This is my second time hiring John to do renovations in my home. I had such a great initial experience that I had John remodel my bathroom. As was before, John is a pleasure to work with, great at communicating about timeline and his availability, and does great quality work. John removed and installed a new toilet, vanity, lighting, and retrofitted the existing pipes. He also repaired drywall as needed, re-mounted the toilet on a newly installed floor, and installed new baseboards and quarter round. His attention to detail really shows in his work. I couldn’t have asked for a better finished product. I’ll be reaching out to John for any future renovations.

Housedoctors was great - fast and high quality work. There were a few areas that I was not quite satisfied with and they promptly corrected at no additional fee. I would absolutely use this contractor again.

The job took 4 days Sat Sun Mon Tues I am very happy with the outcome. Florencio's crew were nothing but professional,organized, neat and particular. They strived for excellence in the result and it shows in my home. The paintiing crew did a wonderful job on the entire project. The floor installer did a great job and the plumber did a top notch job of installing the sinks. There were some side splash problems due to the wall not being square and glued too much- (removed some sheet rock)- but they overcame that with a very pleasing result. In addition , a door casing had to be replaced due to the previous vanity notched out the casing. Tthe new vainity fits perfect so the casing had to be replaced and it was installed nicely. They arrived on time- the job was finished when Florencio said it would be. They worked very hard and paid close attention to detail , kept the work area very clean and left it very clean and moved my furniture with ease and replaced it to my satisfaction. I read the reviews on Angie's lst to find out about a recommended painiting and remodekling crew. I am very happy I did. I will defintely call Florencio in the future. It was a pleasure working with all of his guys-ask for all of them- I think you will be very pleased with the result.

Fantastic! Couldn't have asked for better work! On time and curtious, even went as far as only using necessary tools outside because of our sleeping newborn, Mr. Nelson went above and beyond and deserves your business!

It is really difficult for me to leave a bad review, but I feel that I have to be honest. Right off the bat, the advertisement makes it sound like you are hiring a business with multiple employees (1 person for 6 hours, 2 for 3 hours, etc.). However, there is only one guy, a nice older gentleman, and you will have to wait until he is available, and the work that can be done will be limited by his ability and willingness to do it. I had contacted him ahead of time to give him an overview of the jobs I needed done. I inquired at that time as to whether he cleaned dryer vents. He responded that he had a special tool for that job and would take care of it. When he arrived, that was the first job I asked him to do, and he handed me a friend?s business card (ABS Professional Window Cleaning). I did call them, but it would be an additional $150 to clean the dryer vent. On the third day, he returned to break down a swing set and geodome in my back yard so that they could be placed at the curb for pickup. John walked out in the yard and looked them over, then returned to tell me that he had called a friend and offered them to him ?free of charge? since they were in pretty good shape. I proceeded to give him odd jobs to do while we waited for his friend to come by. I checked back with him hourly. After several hours, John admitted that his friend would not come by that day. I again asked him to put the swing set and geodome at the curb, suggesting that his friend was welcome to come by and pick them up from there. John didn?t want to do that because they couldn?t be put at the curb without being broken down at least somewhat. At that point, I asked him to wrap up, and I had a check cut for him. He added an extra hour for the day (charging me 7 hours to work from 8:30 to 2:30) and left. A week later, he finally let me know that no one was coming to take away the swing set and geodome. He indicated that he would come back and break them down, but I have now given up on that ever happening. Of the small jobs he did that day while we were waiting for his friend, most of them will have to be redone. For instance, he installed a towel bar, but he moved it over several inches so that the bathroom door now hits it, plus he installed it at a slant. I had asked him to remove some hooks and Christmas lights from the front of the house, and he told me he had done it, but after he left I discovered that he only removed half of them. There were also several things that he was unable to do because he never brought a ladder. To be fair, he did accomplish several things on my list. He installed a microwave, which I would have sworn was a two-person job, but he did it by himself and quite well. He replaced a couple of towel rings and installed some curtain rods and tie-backs. He replaced some ceiling fan blades, repaired a door that was sticking, replaced a deadbolt, put up a couple of bulletin boards and fixed a wiggly curtain tie-back. He also painted a room for me, and he did a nice job, though he was a bit slow. Also, I had to pick up the paint, paint rollers, and spackle for him, so in future I think it is less expensive to use my regular painters. My biggest issue is that he didn?t remove the geodome and swing set. I paid him $245 for that day, and he shouldn?t have come if he wasn?t going to do the job. Also, if he had been honest about the dryer vent, I could have made other arrangements for that much earlier. After my review, John got in touch with me to let me know that he would not remove the swingset and geodome, but he did refund that day's charges. I feel that this was a fair resolution, so I've upgraded my review.

Money well spent. Warren was always polite and on time, ready to go. He has years of experience, and is a good communicator.

Overall an excellent experience using Mike and his crew. My house was built in 1940, and I am renovating the kitchen and dining room area. I took down a couple of walls and removed the plaster on a few more, but had several areas where the drywall and plaster would have to mesh. It looks great! One would never know there was a transition in numerous locations. The walls and ceilings are smooth. I would recommend covering floor areas with plastic as drywall mud is messy. Great job!

I had water damage to my plaster walls and sheetrock ceiling in my bathroom from a roof leak in my bathroom. Since my house is over 90 years old, there was also no exhaust fan in the bathroom. The guys from Alert Home Repair did a great job installing the fan and repairing the plaster and replacing the sheetrock. I'm used to waiting a couple of weeks to schedule a job, but they were able to schedule the contractors within 24 hours. I was so pleasantly surprised by that. Even though it was a small repair, they were super-careful and professional, and took extra time to go over the process with me (since I am nosy and ask a lot of questions). I have another small repair pending for which I will definitely seek their help. Thanks for a job well-done.

I contracted with Mike Frost in late 2011 to completely redo the kitchen in a home I purchased. He gutted everything to the bare walls and started from scratch, then installed the new base and wall cabinets, hooked up the sink and disposal, and installed the new appliances. He created a custom pantry for me out of stock cabinetry, and patiently installed a glass block backsplash above all the new countertops. I had also just had new hardwood floors installed throughout, and he was extra careful in protecting them during his work. In addition, I decided I wanted a wall removed between the somewhat small master closet and the entryway into the master bathroom, as this would increase the size of the closet making it more functional without disrupting bathroom traffic. The work involved removing a wall and a hallway door and patching the disturbed areas. Mike again did a wonderful job and the resulting master closet is exactly what I wanted. I found Mike to be precise, meticulous and professional, and I couldn't be happier with the renovations he made to my new home.
