The Deck reconstruction went smoothly even when at the mercy of February 2019's cold and rainy weather. Richard responded to my search promptly. He listened to what I wanted prior to beginning the job and made design suggestions as well. The job was started within weeks and completed in a timely manner with a few delays due to the weather. He hand picked clean, new lumber that had minimal knots. He hand picked new 6x6 beams even when the lumber store wanted him to use older wood. He rounded edges of many of the deck boards for smooth, safe design where the deck aligns with our above ground pool. He took extra care to leave our property presentable at the end of every work day. It was an extreme pleasure working with Richard. He is very friendly man as well as extremely talented handyman. He has good work ethics and meticulous in his work. I would recommend Handyman Unlimited for other handyman jobs.

He is great! He listen, pays attention, and if he has questions he stops and calls me for clarification. He is easy to work with. If I couldn't have something the way I wanted it, he would work with me to make it something I would still like. I have to say that if a hurricane comes through my house will be gone but these two construction pieces he has built will still be standing.

John Collins was great -- creative and high-quality work. We had a small snafu when the installers sliced into an irrigation line during the installation, but he came right out and fixed it after the leak became apparent. I had a small job at another property (a couple of wooden stairs leading from patio up into the house) that he did quickly and well. I would definitely use Southern Builders again and have recommended them to others several times.

Old School Home Repair LLC
Jerry and his helper repaired a large hole in my garage ceiling. (approximately 2' x 3') He cut out the bulging and stained area, inserted a new piece and did a beautiful job with sheet rock mud (returning 4 times in all). After he finished painting, you could not tell it had been repaired! The roof leak had been fixed by a roofer recommended by Jerry. On one of his trips, I asked him to help us with a wall pergola we had ordered. He helped us with the assembly and then returned to bolt it to the house over the double garage doors. His wife does a very professional job of scheduling his work and calls to remind that he is coming. I found Old School through a satisfied neighbor for whom he had done work. Jerry is very professional and businesslike. He has been very generous with his advice. I will definitely use Old School again!.

I emailed project instructions and photos, and Bret said he’d get back to me the next day. After not hearing from Bret for a week, I reached Darra—who was wonderful. I was thrilled with their scheduling communications until my property manager was waiting for them at the property and Jody simply never showed up...not 2 hours after Darra called to ask if we could move the appointment earlier. I thought we were back on track when Jody walked through the projects with me and said everything looked great, no problem, and Bret would get back to me with an exact quote. Then 2 hours later I got a call from Bret and Jody with Bret saying that they didn’t really do the things I was asking for, like “We don’t do wallpaper.” Ok, but why did it take a week and a walkthrough to tell me that, and why did Jody say “no problem” about it during the walkthrough? Ultimately they said they’d put the covers on the pergola that afternoon. They did one, left the other sitting in the living room floor, and then I never heard from them again except a bill for 1/2 day’s work.
