Alecia is smart and capable, with a good eye for color and design, but she is inexperienced and it shows. She mismeasured TWICE, once for a bathroom medicine cabinet and once for kitchen cabinets. The general contractor caught her mistakes both times. If we had gone ahead with the kitchen cabinets, it would have been an expensive disaster. The second time, her mistake caused me to buy an extra medicine cabinet that I could not use and could not return. She tried to blame the contractor by saying he had ordered the items, but I corrected her by pointing out she had given him the dimensions. I asked her if she would refund my money. She said yes, she would, if the mistake was hers, but she wanting to talk to the contractor first. I never heard from her again, despite repeated attempts to contact her. I am stuck with a useless $800 medicine cabinet. I would not use her services again

Sy's Superior Built Construction
This is the 4th project done in our home over a 6 year period. Sy is probably a bit on the expensive side, but you know what you will get at the finish of the project. Every detail is done to perfection. The 4 projects that Sy has completed for us include a total kitchen remodel, 2 bathrooms, and a family room. A kitchen designer suggested that we get a project estimate from him and we are so glad we did

Excellent from start to finish. The men were always on time and cleaned up after themselves. The job was completed early. Randy Tews was onsite on a regular basis. He was very picky, even more so than us in some situations. Always returned phone calls, always came to meetings on time. He followed through on every thing we agreed to and the quality of the work was excellent. I would highly recommend them. We used them for two more remodel jobs on our home after that and then had him build a brand new home this past year( the biggest project time and money wise yet) and couldn't be happier. He has a great website with numerous videos and photos of work done and many letters of recommendation, our being one of them

Larson Custom Cabinets
The owner is Albert Larson. We found them when we were going through a couple of houses, and they were excellent. I liked their choices and their suggestions. The entire staff worked with me on different sizing and in really making it custom to our needs. I am happy with them and their work. Right now, I am trying to use them again

It takes time for him to get in, but when he comes, he gets it done for us. He is really busy. I called him early in the year because I had a coupon from him when I had been to a fair. I brought the plans in and showed him what the plans were, so as to know what to order. I think he has three guys who work for him. When he cut the hole in to put my sink in, he put a little rubber feeds on it; that is my cutting surface. He made some extra cutting boards from the same stuff. The coupon was worth $500 for a free sink. The overall experience was excellent. They were very professional. The price is a bit high, but reasonable. The quality was excellent and they were very punctual. I have recommended to others, in fact two people from my church got their counter-tops done. They came in for the measurements once, and then within a couple of days they were with the counter-tops and they were done

I wanted to remodel my kitchen and do as much work myself as possible. While I could handle the demo and installation of the new cabinets with confidence, I was less sure about some of the implications of opening up the wall that had divided the kitchen from the dining room. Specifically, the electrical/mechanical work that had to be done and I knew that I hate messing with drywall (mud is not my friend). I searched AL for contractors who could handle a wide range of work and also be willing to work with me as I DIY parts of the project (other kitchen remodelers I talked with won't do that). I had an excellent experience with Scott. This guy knows how to do just about everything and has a lot of experience doing kitchen remodeling. We agreed to a time and materials contract with an initial scope of work and we adjusted the scope as we went along. Started with me demo'ing the kitchen one weekend and Scott showing up on Monday to work on opening the wall. Scott recommended an approach that minimized the amount of drywall joints and ceiling texture that would be impacted and it turned out great and went really quickly. With that wall opened up, I had to relocate the existing wiring in that wall, and Scott was great at figuring out which wires were on which circuit and explaining what we could do that would be up to code and meet my needs in the new kitchen layout. He was also great with my gas line relocation. The existing line went to the wall that was opened up and didn't even meet code (had flex line running in the floor). Scott knew how to get the line up code while relocating where it entered the room and how to run it safely to the new location with black pipe. Scott also knew how to patch the subfloor and ceiling where the wall used to be. Scott even re-textured my ceiling with knock down that matches the rest of my ceiling. Installing the exterior vent for my new range hood also went really quickly. By having Scott work with me on so many different types of work, I know I saved a lot of money compared to hiring a separate carpenter, electrician, plumber, and drywall guy. It also saved me a lot of time as I only had to work with Scott's schedule instead of coordinating 4 guys. Scott is a handyman and has a lot of clients that need him to drop in for a small job here and there. Even so, he was able to commit a lot of time to this project and was always easy to get a hold of and very flexible with his time
