Reviews in Hayward for Range Hood Installation

CQ Painting Inc
We are very happy with the services that Chris and his crew provided. They are honest, reliable, hardworking young men. The whole process went smoothly. Chris kept communicating with us about his schedule and his plan for the next day or next several days. He and his crew always come on time and clean everything before they leave.  They did what they said, and their price is very competible. I will definetly use them in my future projects.

They are a great company. Their prices are cheap, and they are very ethical. Their price range varies from $2000 to $10000.

Re Bath of Northeast WI
We went to the showroom and met with a rep, saw the handful of product displays which all looked very nice. We asked for a price range. The rep bristled to do so without measurements and specifications, but gave us an approximate range. Per their process, we set up an appointment for their people to come out for a measurement so we could get an estimate. The salesperson who came over to measure was polite, but after he measured our space and took our product specifications, he gave us a surpisingly high estimate. He then told us, however, that they offer a significant discount but only if we booked the installation with him then and there with a down payment. We did not appreciate the pressure. We would have liked to have known this going in; we would have scheduled our other contractor estimates ahead of this one so we could properly compare.

The Bath & Kitchen Works
I'm so glad I went with Dale for my kitchen island! I didn't really know exactly what I wanted, just that I wanted an island. He came out an measured, then came up with a design. I didn't like that original design, but after a bit more import we settled on a design that I loved. He did a great job of listening to what I wanted, my concerns, and my price range to create a great island for my kitchen! I really liked all the options I had, from colors, types, counter tops, etc! Will contact them again next time I need any bath/kitchen work!

Been there fixed that handyman service llc
Rick has been great.   He has done everything in a timely manner.  (estimates, coming out to look at what's needed and then doing said repairs or work very quickly after I've approved his estimates. I would use him (and am) over and over.  He still is currently working for me. He has been able to fix anything I've asked. I still LOVE going to my basement and seeing what he's accomplished.  I honestly can't think of one negative experience we've had with him. I didn't put in a $ amount b/c he's done so much but it ranges from $40-$3000 depending on what and how much he's done.  I did research b/f hiring him and he has always been the most reasonable.

I have had four different people come out, and their price ranges were all different. This person was the most honest. I was also looking forward to having my duct work cleaned, and the other three people said that I needed to have them cleaned. But he actually went in there with a camera and looked at them, and he told me that they were fine and that I didn’t need to have them cleaned, which saved me about $400. He called up three different times to follow up, and see if I was ready to have the job done. He also found that there was a part in the furnace that was not working properly, and he had that part replaced at no cost to me except for labor because he got it under the manufacturer’s warranty.

Dickow-Cyzak Carpet One
We had the backsplash done 1st, Allison suggested different materials and colors, helping me to come to a decision about what I was looking for. She designed the backsplash, ordered the materials and arranged the installation. She also came out and did all the measuring for the kitchen and the vanity sink. Very professional, very organized and provided many great ideas. Installation of jobs was 2 different days by different installers. What impressed me was the drop cloths laid from the back door to cover all the area flooring they would be working in. I will be going back to Dickow-Cyzak for future needs.

Homeworks Home Maintenance
I called for an estimate and the owner came the very next day. He was on time, very professional and courteous, and answered all my questions. I was worried about the leak, and he told me he would not know the exact cost until he tore down the drywall. He gave me a few different ways to do the job depending on my price range. He said he could email me an itemized bid or bring it to me. Since I was working, he dropped it at my office. I liked his attitude and his significant knowledge. I accepted the bid and he told me when he would start. Work began only three days later. The owner was there every day, and did most of the work himself. He had a helper for the drywall. The men were very neat, and there was no mess for me to clean up. They started with the leak. It took most of the first day to find it and get it stopped. Then they put up the new drywall and built the closet. When that was done, they put in the new sink and the countertop. That plumbing needed to be relocated to fit. After making sure there were no leaks anywhere, they put in my new vent. They had to rip out the old linoleum and then put in new ceramic tile on the floor. They also put tile part way up the wall. Last, they painted. All the way through, the owner kept me informed of the progress and answered any questions I had. The work was done just as promised, and actually cost $25 less than the bid. I was very impressed with Homeworks and recommend them highly.

This contractor was hired by us to rebuild our front porch which was starting to fall apart. They wanted about $1,000 dollars for demo so I decided to do the demo myself. The contractors spent 1 day on the front porch and got it pretty much completed in that day however it was not finished. The sides of the stairs were not finished or closed off as I specified to the contractors. The contractor stated that they had to use extra materials and labor to reinforce some of the frame, of which they did not contact us about for permission for any extra cost. After looking under the front porch, I can not see all the lumber that the contractor itemized in the billing invoice. In fact, after looking close, I noticed that the supports for two beams where not and are not supported at all. The itemized list also stated that all the material was pressure treated however I can see that numerous boards are not pressure treated lumber. There is also an area where some boards stick out about the adjacent boards and need to be further sanded to create a level area. The description of the job also included two holes at 48" below grade for new post supports that were not done. The second part of this job was for the contractor to demolish the existing stairs from the first floor to the basement and rebuild a finished stair case from the first floor to the basement. The new stair case was to be a finished stair case that was ready to be stained. The problems with this particular phase of the job are as follows. The materials used were supposed to be of a finished material ready to be stained. The material that was used was a pine wood that was rough and not ready for stain. The treads on the stairs are not actual treads but are just basic 2x6 pine material. All the treads and risers were nailed down and all of the nails can be seen where as a finished and stain-able stair case would not have nails showing all over. Some of the treads are not level and when you walk on them you can feel your foot is on an angle. The reveal on all the skirt boards on the stair case are not the same. One reveal is 1/8th of an inch while the reveal on the other side of the stairs is about 3/4 of an inch. The treads and risers ALL have gaps. For the treads you can look at each stair and see a gap of various measurements between the treads and the skirt boards or risers. In some cases it looks as though the treads were scribed but not cut along the scribe. None of the treads are actual treads with bull nose but instead are only 2x6 materials. For the risers you can look at each step and see gaps between the risers and the skirt boards. In some cases these range from 1/8 th of an inch to 1/4 of an inch. In all of the risers and treads they used nails instead of screws which, although not the preferred method to fasten stairs would have been acceptable if they were not all over the treads and risers in places that will be seen on stained material.  The landing that separates the first floor from the basement, the cut material has the grain showing to the outside instead of a bull nose for a finished look. This landing has 2x1 material planks instead of a plywood so that a hard wood flooring can be installed as was discussed by us to the contractors after the stairs were completed not to our liking. The stairs were also not built with the thickness of the hard wood flooring in mind which will cause the bottom stair to be about 1/2 of an inch to 3/4 of an inch shorter than all of the other stairs. Also please note that materials that the contractor listed as being used were not used at all. We tried to talk to the contractor several times through out the process and actually stopped the construction in order to work out the details and make sure that the way we wanted things done were the way things were going to be done. The contractor got an attitude and kept saying stuff like "you can caulk that" or "when you caulk that it would look fine" or "if you buy this material you can cover this part up" etc. After several discussions in which it was evident that the contractor was not going to do what we hired them to do, even giving us two options in which we could either take the extra work done on the front stairs which was not authorized at no charge and we deal with the stairs as is or he would charge us for the extra work and would finish the basement stairs to our liking, we decided to have them finish the drywall they had started and end the construction. Unfortunately, the contractor was paid in full so we could not with hold payments due to it being incomplete or not how it was supposed to be done.    After the contractors left we did some more research on this company and found numerous people that have complaints about them. Even though we did some research on the company by calling references we did not do an extensive background on them. The reviews we have gotten from several people are consistent with what happened to us.
