Reviews in Mauldin to Exterminate Rats or Mice

Bulwark Exterminating - Greenville

Called saturday before lunch and with an urgent need. 6 month pregnant wife and a sudden pest and rodent problem needed attention immediately. They worked their technician Chris's schedule so that he could fit us in at7:30pm on a saturday night. He came out with a great attitude, showed great attention to detail, asked very intelligent questions, and acted accordingly. This was our first experience with 864pest and their technician Chris. Their was nothing mindblowing they did to solve our problem or anything along those lines but the technicians attitude to do everything he could to help his customers and the pride he took in his work is the reason we will be calling them back to set up regular service.

I have a yearly contract with them for termites and then I just signed a yearly contract with them for like bugs and mice. For the termites its 225 dollars a year and then for the bugs and mice its 300 dollars a year. I can call them and they'll be out the next day if I need them.

My experience with Ron was amazing!!! He was very detailed and informative on everything he was doing. He made us feel comfortable about our service today. Whenever we call to book another treatment he’s the only person we want to come out!! Thanks again Rob!!!

CRITTER CONTROL

Tim came out and treated for mice, as well as plugging/screening all the vents, etc. He was very prompt, professional and efficient. Those mice were very stubborn and he had to come back three times to do more treatment (without charging me extra), but finally, the noises are gone so hopefully the critters are too. I would recommend Critter Control.

I felt bad because the guy was so nice but he was pushed so hard to get out here. He checked for spiders and everything and did such a great job. He was so nice.

Paid 200$ for house treatment for ants, mice, fleas & roaches. Told them before they came out that my basement had fleas - they told me 4 times fleas don't live in basements. The day after treatment, I still had ants and fleas - called them back and they said that it would cost another 100$ for them to come out and treat again with different type of treatment. They don't guarantee their work - really? 1 day later and they wont take care of it? Save your money.

I have been using Mack Pest Eliminators for over a year now and I am VERY happy with them! They are friendly, professional, prompt, thorough, and affordable. I also love that they are a family owned company. Also they treat my yard for mosquitos without making me sign a contract.

I contacted Gregory Pest control Dec 16 because I had seen a mouse in my living room go into the air vent. They said the first available date they could come out was Dec 26, I told them to go ahead and sign me up for spraying for insects too. I asked if they would find where the mice were coming in from and seal it up. The representative told me they would inspect and let me know how they were getting in and give me tips on what to do. The guy came on time and set covered traps so my 1 year old and dog would not get into them and so I wouldn't have to see dead mice. He told me to seal anywhere pipes were coming in with steel wool. He said he checked the crawl space and looked in the attack and didn't see any evidence of mice. He came back a few days later and checked the traps and reset. He said he would be back in 4 days to check them again and he never came back. Before my quarterly check I saw a roach in my house, I called and they set up a time for someone to come back. It happened to be on the morning of the snow of 2014. They never called to reschedule. I even had to call them to make my quarterly appointment. It has been 3 weeks since my quarterly appointment and I have spiders and ants in my house. The representatives on the phone are all very nice and the guy who sprays is very nice, their spray apparently does not work at my house.

Our house was infested with rats. The rats were around 18 inches long from head to tail. They were like the Norway rats. When we bought the house we had a breezeway from the garage to the house itself which was basically just the roof. We had covered the brick floor with decking which was right down on the ground. There wasn?t a whole lot of space on there and was enclosed by sliding glass doors. The sliding glass doors were connected to the garden courtyard that had a water feature. The rats moved into the garden and took up residence underneath the decking. They were not the ones with whom you could mess around with and having them so close to the house was not acceptable. That?s the reason why we called Varmit Guard. They came out and sold us the package which covered everything including getting rid of the rats. The people that came out to get the work done were not the sharpest knives in the drawer. We had told them very specifically not to spray on the east side as well as on the south side of the house, as we had parrett windows. We had bull dogs too which are very fragile. The windows were open and we were concerned about what they were using. We told them that they could spray on the north and the west side of the house. When we could actually realize about this the guy was ready to spray on the east side of the house and had already sprayed on the south side of the house. I wanted to cancel my contract as they were not following my instructions. So, they sent another person to get the work done who was a little less socially maladjusted. Once again he too started spraying underneath the parrett window. That?s when I became unpleasant. I also had the president of the company sitting in my living room and explaining to me as to why my demands were unreasonable. The guy who came for the second time to get the work done was a very weird person. He was not a whole lot better socially adapted than the first exterminator we had. Apparently Varmit Guard has been very successful. They also left all of their bait boxes and didn?t bother to take them with them. We are still waiting for them to come and pick them up. In the meantime we continue to fill up the bait boxes with rat poison. If anybody wants to get rid of the rats then they can purchase the bait boxes and rat poison to get the job done, without hiring anyone. We did get rid of the rats, but they keep coming back. Since the rat infestation is out in the woods, it has to be dealt on an ongoing process and there is no reason to pay somebody to do it. Most of the pest control companies that I have dealt with so far used to charge around 300 $ to 400 $ a year for pest control and it includes termite inspection too. If they find terminates then they will try to get rid of them by trying to adjust the money that you would have paid them initially. However, if Varmit Guard finds termites, then they will charge you extra. The price that they charged was very high, as I am paying a lot less for getting the exterminating work done by somebody else at my rental properties. Their quality of work would have been fine if they had followed my instructions, but they didn?t. They were very responsive in taking our cheque and I wouldn?t like to comment on the rest of it. They were very punctual. They were not professional, as they had a low IQ and there was lack of social responsiveness. I would never use their services again in the future and I would not recommend them to a friend either. There is nothing that can be resolved now, as we have determined that we hate each other. One of my neighbors had Varmit Guard help them to get rid of the raccoons and I met the guy who did the work for them. I was very impressed with him and I thought that I would get the same service, but I didn?t. I feel somebody else might have had a good experience with them. I don?t think they would have grown as fast as they have grown now, because they have franchise all over the place. Being told that there were no problems spraying insecticide under my parrett window was something that wasn?t acceptable. I feel that you aren?t supposed to say that to a customer. Somebody else might have had a fine time with them, but I didn?t.

Recent Review: I had the windows up one evening and heard what I thought was a scratching in the attic, so I knew immediately should contact an exterminator! I remembered a coworker's brother owned a pest control company, so I contacted her for the company name. Upon initial contact at Sure Shot, I did not tell them of any association with the owner's brother, but the receptionist/scheduler was as nice as anyone you'd want to meet. She answered all of my questions thoroughly and was very patient explaining how the first, and any future visits would go. A few days later when Curtis, the technician arrived, he also reflected the company's professionalism and attention to quality and service. He arrived just a few minutes before appointment time and used the paper shoes to ensure he didn't track any dirt inside. He was also very kind and friendly with my two small dogs. After a thorough inspection of the attic, Curtis declared it "critter free," but offered to put some bait out just in case. He also looked carefully for other signs of mice-type creatures downstairs and in the basement and found nothing. I declined the bait (although it's part of the standard treatment) and told him I would wait and see if there were any more sounds or signs in the future. Curtis did a great job, carefully treating the house. He placed waterproof pellets outside, which have helped a giant-ant problem I had. He also did a termite inspection (and found nothing, thank goodness!)There's a real "part of the family" feeling when working with this company. It is obvious they have a solid client-base, with many long-term customers, and I can see why. They're not happy until you're happy. Ironically, the day before I had my first conversation with Sure Shot, I was walking my dogs and saw another extermination company's van parked on a small side road, where the tech was writing a report while waiting for his next appointment time. I mentioned the scratching I'd heard, and that I had called another company for an estimate. He gave me his card and suggested I call his company as well. He then went on to explain to me the horribly cruel way his firm handled mice, squirrels and other larger pests. I know extermination is never pleasant, but he seemed to take a particular enjoyment in telling me how their method prevented smells after the creature's death. I didn't need to hear this. I did mention to Sure Shot I'd heard of dreadfully horrible ways some creatures were killed to prevent odor. They tactfully agreed the details weren't necessary, but did say their chemicals didn't work the way the other fellow had mentioned, which I was glad to know.I'm sure there are other fine pest control companies out there, but I think I've found the one I'll be with for quit some time. No one has rushed me, everyone has been very polite, and the bugs are disappearing! What more can you ask?! There are no contracts - just a first time visit charge of $100 to $125 (this may vary with house size, or perhaps if you select a quarterly return plan, I don't remember), and an $85 charge for a quarterly visit. If you plan for them to return quarterly, and have ANY kind of bug or critter problem in the interim, they come back at no charge. Can't beat that!

Recent Review: Unfortunately he was unable to find where squirrels or rats were getting in our attic.  He offered valuable advice and a possible solution.  The problem turned out to be the ring at the top of our chimney which we have since repaired.  I would definitely call him again.  He is excellent and a wealth of information.
