He responded to my initial call promptly, and an appointment was set up for the next week. He arrived at the right time and brought in protective mats to walk through the house. Work was done professionally, and he took time to explain what he did and how the system worked. The final bill was the price he had quoted to me. He left a radon test kit for us to submit for determining the radon levels in our home. I would highly recommend American Radon Solutions for anyone who has questions about radon.

We have extremely high Radon level in area. This company and person providing installation is extremely professional. Communication and scheduling for installation was extremely smooth. Installation was performed very diligently in timely manner. It has been more than a year and never had issue with Fan or Radon level. After installation Radon level dropped down to acceptable level. Price was bit high but considering there overall rating and pressing issue at hand went ahead with them. I would definitely recommend them to anyone requiring Radon mitigation.

We had a very high radon reading in our basement and we needed to get it down to be able to continue with the sale of our house. There were time constraints and so they put a continuous monitor in our basement soon after the installation. We were pleased that we could check the monitor ourselves and see how quickly the level of radon was reduced. We did a manual 48 hour test for which we just received the results. The radon level tested very low! We were pleased with the work and would recommend this company to anyone with a radon problem.

Prior to the service the radon level in the house was 17.2 pCi/L. Following the installation of the radon mitigation system, the radon level dropped to 0.6 pCi/L (well below the 4.0 EPA recommendation). The company owner came to the house, checked out the basement, and provided an estimate in a timely manner. Two company employees completed the work in about 4 hours (as estimated), cleaned up the area in the basement where the work was performed, and explained the system. The cost was the exact amount of the estimate. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

We contacted ARS to have our home fixed after measuring radon levels at 4.7 pCi/L. Our situation was apparently a difficult one as the initial remediation was only partially successful in reducing radon levels. We continued to perform testing and the levels actually increased to well over 10 pCi/L. Tuan stayed in touch with us to check on the fluctuating radon levels and also made several trips back to our home to identify where the radon was entering and try to figure out the best way to lower our levels. We greatly appreciate him working with us through the initial installation, ongoing radon level monitoring and to the ultimate solution. In the end, our home required sealing of an inside basement wall that faced an above-ground addition as well as a separate ventilation fan to be installed in the crawlspace underneath the addition. Thank you for giving us peace of mind and the feeling of safety in our home.

American Radon Solutions were on time, professional and right on their quote for the work. Our radon level was high over 20 pCi/L and 2 days after installation radon concentration was tested by an independent firm at only 1.5 pCi/L - which is amazing! The area worked in was cleaned up, installation was sturdy and looked great - even from the street. I would highly recommend them!

Office communicated. Had a signed contract with pricing for the install. I was able to pay via credit card very easily over the computer. Installer was professional and cleanliness up after himself. Owner called to verify my satisfaction with the work. Post radon test was below the allowed amount of radon. Highly recommend this company.

Installation of the system went smooth, but the radon test results were still above 4. Since he guarantees reducing the radon to below 4 he came out again and fixed some leaks in the corners and other places, however I did have to nag him several times before he came out. The last test showed the radon level just under 3.

Tuan's partner came on time and installed the radon mitigation system for us. Super fast and super clean. Pre-installation radon level: 10.0 Post-installation radon level: 2.8-3.8 (It's a range because I bought a radon gas detector that continuously monitor for radon on Amazon). I was shown how the system works. Very happy with the result. Now my little boys can play in their basement playroom without being exposed to radon, a leading cause of lung cancer in non-smoking population. It was estimated at $880, but the final bill came to $800. I was happily surprised and I asked how come it's cheaper and they explained they didn't need to do and use one of the parts that was originally estimated. Super please with their honesty; they could have still bill me $880 and I wouldn't have known any difference. An honest contractor is hard to find these days.

I called Mr. Winslow for an estimate to have radon remediation done in our home. He returned my call the same day. Although it was a busy time for him, he made a point to stop out to give us an estimate within a few days since our radon levels were exceedingly high & he had concern about having us wait. He arrived on time for the estimate, was very professional & informative. The estimate was provided within a day & we decided to have him complete the work. He was able to schedule the job within a week. The base price was very reasonable & competative @ $845. We chose to upgrade our fan to a flat style which is low profile against our house, as well as add a condensate pump for our hot water heater/ dehumidifier allowing us to close up the drain into our concrete slab which was another inlet for radon into our home. Our total came to $1095 which I felt was very reasonable & the work was completed within a week from my first phone call to completion of the work. A kit was provided for us to again test our radon levels. Our levels went from 88.7 to 0.6 after remediation! We couldn't be happier. I would definitely recommend Next Step Environmental!

He did a nice job. It looked nice. So far, we don't have any issues. It has only been a couple of weeks. I dealt directly with him. It's a small operation and it has been very good with him. Most of the quotes were right around the pricing but he was actually closer to the house where I was going to get the work done. It's more convenient too. He did a nice job explaining what he's doing and what needed to be done. He did it efficiently. He did it on the price that he said he was going to do it.

HETRICK CONSTRUCTION and HOME SAFE RADON

Hetrick Construction And Home Safe Radon was great. We had done the radon testing and it came back positive with pretty high numbers, so we are re-doing our basement, so we though let's have this checked out by a professional and he came out and suggested remediation and he was very good about listening to what my husband had said how he wanted it done. I really didn't want that difference of opinion between the two of us, it was done very well and it was done promptly. I don't know about these things as far as what anybody else charges this. We had a couple of estimates and they seem to be the best. He was very prompt, very neat, cleaned out everything, which I consider a definite plus and he listened, which so often people don't do.

At first not so well. I had a passive system currently installed and I was hoping making it active would solve my radon issues; note my radon levels were off the charts at around 130 pCi/L. Mike and son showed up on time and performed the work quickly and efficiently. They needed access to my attic in which they added a fan to my passive system, did some sealing around my sump and added a manometer. Total time of around 1 hour. Unfortunately though running efficiently, this only brought my readings down to around 75 pCi/L. Cost of 1st install was $765 Mike and son came back out again and installed another suction point, including drilling and installing 4" pvc, another fan, and another manometer. Total time of around 1.5 to 2 hours. Again on time and done efficiently. Both times they cleaned up everything and were respectful of my house. Luckily this time it worked, bringing my levels down to around 1 pCi/L. Cost of 2nd install was $965.

Recent Review: Our home is about 100 years old and has a stone foundation. Water has been an issue in the basement for far longer than we have owned the home. In three days '58 Foundations installed a drain, pump and sealed the walls. It has been six months and there has been absolutely no signs of water or other moisture in the basement. We are extremely happy with the service they provided.

Recent Review: We learned a lot about our new home. Chris found that radon levels were high. My wife was nervous about a home with high levels of radon with young kids. Chris put her mind at ease when he explained the process of mitigating the radon. We were able to get the sellers to pay for this due to the thorough inspection.

Recent Review: SWAT Enviromental aka/Air Quality Control Agency is, in my opinion, a total scam. But don't take my word for it. Contact the Radon Division of the Bureau of Radiation Protection of your local government for an apporved list of providers. Here is how it works. All other providers guarantee safe levels of Radon for your initial price. If the need to modify their sytem, they do it for free. SWAT Environmental hits you with a low price. Then they charge $149 for a service call and much more for additional work. My home has 3 slabs that needed ventilation. They hooked up only 1. My Radon levels were still 10x too high. I contacted the BBB. SWAT agreed to waive the $149. service fee. They came out and determined I needed all 3 slabs ventilated and they system moved to a new location. No kidding. They charged me another $497.00 to do what should have been done right the first time. And after all that money I still have dangerous levels of Radon! SWAT also told me I needed a larger fan for another $195.00. The Bureau of Radiation specialist told me you never need a larger fan and it can actually draw Radon into your home. The BBB gave the company a successful resolution simply because they came out for a service call for free; even though the system was incorrectly installed. In fact, I needed to move the entire ystem to a new location in order to access all 3 slabs. The bureau also told me this company has been banned in Ohio for their practices. They have numerous web sites and locations, so it is difficult to know who you are really dealing with. Do yourself a favor and get an approved list of Radon Mitigation contractors. And avoid SWAT Environmental at all costs.

Recent Review: There were optional inspections that could be added for more cost. He walked me through the whole process. This was the first time I done this and the house is over 100 years old. He put us at ease and told us what he was going to do. Then we basically looked at the whole exterior. We then went through room by room. He checked the wiring to make sure everything was grounded. He took thorough notes and was great. He was a friendly and nice guy. He was very prompt about getting the report back to us. We were on a quick settlement of 45 days. He was really fast about getting us the info so we could proceed.

Recent Review: The structural/electrical/plumbing inspector was fantastic. He spent over 4 hours going through every inch of the home, provided immediate in-person feedback showing significant issues, and followed up <48 hours later (on a holiday weekend) with a 133-page report with pictures, thermal scans, etc. On a lesser note, the radon inspector showed for a few minutes during the structural inspection and set-up measurements in the basement. The report was issued quickly but I found out later that the radon inspector had not taken into consideration the attached (inaccessible) crawlspace that made up 25% of the lower structure. I found out from a radon remediation contractor that the state code required the radon inspector to measure levels on the 1st floor above the crawlspace in cases where the substructure could not be accessed. Overall, the huge amount of time the structural inspector put into the property was worth the A rating. Just watch the radon inspection if you have a strange basement set-up like the house I am purchasing.

We recommend Central Penn Radon with no reservations. If you are putting off dealing with radon -- DO NOT wait for your diagnosis of lung cancer to spur you into action like we did!
