Crew arrived ontime and worked steadily. Advice on material to use in rebuilding helpful. Workers were in and out of house to work on shower without being intrusive. Lots of discussion about how best to repair porch post. Finally arrived at solution that I think will last and isatisfies me aesthetically

Larry and John showed up on Saturday morning. I wanted several trees and bushes pulled out of the ground that we lost in the freeze last year. They gave me an estimate on the spot and said they didn't have a job that day so they immediately went to work. I was so impressed. They worked until it was finished and it was finished THAT DAY! They are the hardest workers I have ever met and were so friendly and professional. I would definitely use them again and I have referred two other friends to call them. A+John and Larry!

Gonzales landscaping has been my “go-to” company for landscaping maintenance and repair. I have been using them for over 3 years. Every appointment has been quoted ahead of time by the other, cool all work has been visvelty confirmed by him. Very satisfied and recommend Gonzales landscaping to everyone I know.

Mr. Gonzales showed up at my house exactly when he said he would. Provided a cost estimate (I think it was a little high based on my neighbor's experience with a different contractor). He and the bobcat operator showed up the next day exactly when Mr. Gonzales said they would. The bobcat operator worked steady until the job was finished. The area being cleaned out was very confined and required many trips back and forth hauling dirt. There was no room to turn around and the operator had to back out carrying each load. On 2 occasions he hit the rock wall fence and did a small amount of damage to the wall. (once on my fence and once on my neighbors fence.) The operator informed Mr. Gonzales and Mr. Gonzales said he would have someone out that same afternoon to get an estimate on the fence. This was done as Mr. Gonzales promised. The next morning the person repairing the fence showed up as promised and fixed my fence and my neighbor's fence at no cost to me. Mr. Gonzales is absolutely trustworthy. He says what he will do and he does what he says he will do.

Larry and John started early the next morning.  John started trimming the trees by rope climbing, but due to the condition of the trees, the job required them to rent a lift basket (at their own expense) for 3 days days to complete the work on all the Pecan Trees.  The next two days they removed and hauled away the tree branches and debris.  Then they got a tractor and disc to work on getting all the weeds and leveling out the yard.  Their overall quality of work and long hours they put in can only be appreciated in the before and after pictures provided.  These 2 country boys have an outstanding work ethic and attitude, I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for work done on their yards and trees!  I am going to also have them build an Irrigation System to the Pecan Trees based on the quality of their work.  Also, a new home owner on my street saw the quality of their work and hired them to work on his acre lot when they got done with mine!

RJB Construction
5.0
We contracted with RJB Construction(Roy Brown and his son, TJ Brown) to tear out a massive, ugly, fake stone fireplace in the house we were purchasing which took up a full corner of the living room. We wanted it replaced with a Southwestern style Kiva with an electric insert. Right off, our pre-arranged start date was postponed because our closing was delayed causing a schedule problem with the tile setters who were to replace the carpeting with ceramic tile in the living room, dining room, library, and bedroom. RJB Construction came to our aid by re-arranging their time and getting all of the demo done so the tile setters could proceed as planned. The demolition job was far more extensive than anticipated. Further, after removing the old fireplace, we expanded the job to include removing a floor to ceiling built-in bookcase; 70's style wood paneling; and removing and replacing drywall on 3 walls of the room. In its place, Roy and TJ created a phenomenal, professional quality Kiva with the electric insert. We absolutely love it and the job they did! Additionally, they installed, prepared and painted new drywall in the living room; and had several electrical outlets installed along with an eye-ball spot light which highlights the Kiva....which is now the center piece of our living room. To further demonstrate the above and beyond ethics of RJB Construction, they rescued us once again by fitting us into their busy schedule when we needed the drywall in our kitchen replaced on very short notice. Bottom Line: Roy and TJ do highest-quality, creative work, at very affordable prices. Without hesitation, we give them super kudos, and our highest possible recommendation.

PAUL MONTOYA HANDYMAN
5.0
On the roof, Paul patched cracks around vents and a skylight then added a strip of waterproofing in low spots that collect water after a rain.  I don't climb so I could not see the outcome of that work, however it was done quickly. The yard work was more visible. We needed to clean up some xeriscape that was in place when we bought the house.  It was 3-7 foot wide bands of 3-6 inch stone that trapped dirt, leafs, and trash.  The size of the rock made it difficult to remove the trapped stuff.  Paul removed the large rock, hauled it away, and replaced it with smaller stone.  He and his helpers did a nice job, the new rock looks good..  They were conscientious and cleaned up after the work.  Paul works hard and quickly, as did his help on those occasions when he needed help.  They accomplished rock removal in a much shorter time than I thought it would take and replaced it equally quickly.  Removal and replacement were done by hand, they did not use motorized equipment.   We have irregular flagstones on a path of fines under a couple of canales.  During a rain the water falling out of the canales washed the fines out of the spaces between the stones.  Paul filled in the missing fines and put concrete grout between the stones. The grout is smooth and neat with no concrete left of the stones or nearby wall. Paul works for cash.  I bought the materials and paid him for labor.  He did not request an advance before he started and I paid him after he finished each part of the work (roof, rock, and grout).  I cannot say whether or not his price was high or low, but the amount of effort that went into the project made it seem reasonable. They came when they said they would. Finally, they were prompt.  I was surprised to come home at lunch the day after the small rock for the backyard had been delivered and discover that the back yard was finished (and the driveway where the rock was dumped by the materials company had been swept and was clean).

I prepared a punch list of all the items to be done to get the house ready to rent. I submitted it to Gary, the owner of HRC and asked him for a bid. He provided a detailed bid based on my punch list (which is the basis for the description above). The last 4 items were added as the job went along. I told Gary I wanted to get done as close to the end of June as possible but the exact date was not critical since July and August are the best months to get a house rented. Gary warned me that he had commitments for a couple jobs that would interrupt the work for me and I agreed that he could meet those commitments even though that would mean some disruption while things were being worked on. Gary's people are skilled at their trades, careful in working and cleaning up and professional in work habits, ethics, trustworthiness and timeliness. I've used HRC for lots of smaller jobs before but this was the biggest one to date by far. Gary and his workers kept me posted on when they would be at the house and what they would be doing. They called before coming except when we had made a specific schedule arrangement. They showed up when they said they would and called if something happened to change the planned schedule. Gary's people are hard working and independent but Gary stayed close to what was going on and came to check and make sure about any issues on a regular basis. The overall process was painless. I prefer emailed invoices and Jody has been very helpful with that, as well as taking a credit card over the phone for payment. I'm very pleased with HRC. I know I will get quality work, done as I want it and good value for the money. They are not the absolute cheapest people who are doing work in the area but if you want consistent, quality work done on a timely basis, they are a great choice and are worth what they charge. They also are reasonable about charging for the work and not looking to nickel and dime the customer with minor little things during the course of the job. Highly recommended.
